requires reading

I am feeling very grumpy that until this afternoon - I have never read

Playlist Amour by @1sleepydormouse (39/50)

Apparently I’m THE WORST fangirl on the planet because this is amazing. AMAZING. Comics based Bughead. Juggie is VERY CLEARLY Betty!sexual. And yeah - I’m not done yet… but I feel deprived that I hadn’t read it yet - because it’s so freaking amazing. If you haven’t read it yet - DO IT NOW!

Humans are weird

Here’s my contribution to this, I couldn’t help myself ;)

What if humans were the only ones to purposely poison themselves for fun and therefore we are the only ones who hallucinate?

Captain Zurg was nervous. All of these stories about the humans from the death planet that xe’s heard were crazy! And now there was to be one to join them in closed quarters with the rest of the crew. Xe has done all the required reading for the care of humans and even took the pack bonding course the pamphlet recommended.

When Human Dave joined, everything went smoother than Zurg could have hoped for. They now had a small predator to care for, but it was to be expected. Human Dave fits well with the rest of the researchers.

The only problem happened when there was a shipment of poisonous fruit juice as well as vegetables that Human Dave would not leave alone.

“Is this substance not harmful to your species Human Dave?” Captain Zurg could not let him unknowingly hurt himself. Maybe if Human Dave knew the harm it could do to him then they would leave it alone.

“What this? It’s just alcohol. It won’t kill me. It’s fun! Besides, it only becomes a problem when you drink too much.”

Captain Zurg clicked his mandibles nervously, “But it clearly is not good for you and hurts your system to ingest.”

Is there any proof H/L are still together?I know there are things we put together and they lead us in that direction but are there"actual" proofs like there were in the past?Sometimes I think people in this fandom would be involved in a healthier way in these boys' careers if they knew they aren't together anymore. They'd stop to put them against each other or say things like "When H/L was doing this H/L wasn't there for him".Sorry for the rant but I'm reading things out of this world these days

I agree that the way some folks pit them against each other is awful and I hate that, but honestly I just unfollow anyone that does that. I’m not here to tell people what to think or how to blog, but I’m sure not required to read it.

As for recent proof?  No. The best we’ve really got is Maya saying that she had it confirmed a couple of months ago, but obviously she can’t be specific about anything, so that’s down to how must you trust Maya (I trust her completely fwiw).

Now that they aren’t on tour together there just aren’t dozens of random people near them when they’re physically in the same space to see anything and report on it.

The best we’ve got is a weird Harry tweet of a “then and now” Louis that got deleted and the ugliest bee tattoo ever seen :)  I wish we had more, but alas we do not.

Texas lawmaker Jessica Farrar is proposing a bill that would fine men $100 every time they masturbate

  • Texas tries very hard to legislate reproduction, generating a crushing volume of bills aimed at regulating the uterus.
  • But what about the other side? Shouldn’t those without uteri be bound by the same measure of genital legalese?
  • One Texas state lawmaker, Democratic Rep. Jessica Farrar, thinks so. On Friday, fed up with targeted abortion restrictions, Farrar filed House Bill 4260, a bill “relating to the regulation of men’s health and safety.”
  • HB 4260, aka “the Man’s Right to Know Act,” would impose a $100 fine on male masturbation or, as Farrar’s legislation puts it, “emissions outside of a woman’s vagina.”
  • If not properly stored for future use, ejaculation would qualify as ‘an act against an unborn child, and failing to preserve the sanctity of life,’ the bill reads. Men interested in extravaginal emission would be welcome to visit hospitals and private masturbatoriums that would help with the special storage requirements. Read more (3/13/17 2:07 PM)
What A Black Woman Wishes Her Adoptive White Parents Knew
Your love alone does not protect me from the fact of my black skin.
By Mariama Lockington

“A few months ago, in therapy, I found myself uttering the following words: “But if I’m not a good girl, who will want to keep me?” I am 31 years old and I still feel as though I owe this picture, my white parents, something impossible: my silent gratitude. I still feel that if I dare to question, challenge, or speak truth to my snapshots as a black transracial adoptee, I will be “sent back” or “unadopted” for being ungrateful. What happens if I say to them:

Look, I have often felt unseen in your home, your home in which I was in many ways expected to live up to the myth of colorblindness. Your love alone does not protect me from the fact of my black skin.”

Necessary Reading. Required reading. Especially if you plan to transracially adopt or foster. Get uncomfortable. Have the conversations. Reposting and will post again. Please share.

Peter Parker x Shy Reader

Request: Yes

Summary: Peter and the Reader go to school together, however once Peter shows up at Stark tower, the Reader is curious as to why he is there.

Word Count: 1,930

Warnings: language, fluff, adorableness, talk of powers, annoying Tony, shy reader (bc I’m trash). (Err, that’s it?)

A/N: To the anon that requested this, I hope you like it! I sort of changed it up a little bit, so I hope you don’t mind. The length of this, I apologize, holy shit. I could not find a way to end this. *Also, the Reader’s powers are based on the character Catiana (in case you are wondering!) Please let me know what you guys think of it, I’d love some feedback. Enjoy reading!

Walking into school, you held tightly to your backpack and moved swiftly through the crowd, avoiding an “accidental” bump in with anyone that came unexpectedly.

Since you had a few minutes before your first class, you went to your locker and replaced the books in your backpack with the ones you needed today for classes.

Rolling your eyes and groaning as you picked up your heavy Algebra book, you stuffed it roughly into your backpack.

It’s not that you hated math, it’s just you weren’t that great at it, which definitely bothered you since you were in a class full of legit geniuses.

Not only did that class give you anxiety with being called on or not understanding anything, but it was also because there was one nerd who always caught your attention. The one that should probably be in college level math rather than Algebra in some high school. The one who looked so soft and cuddly. The one with the never ending collection of sweaters.

The one named, Peter Parker.

Trump paid $38 million tax on $150 million income in 2005, report and White House say

  • On Tuesday evening, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow released partial documents from one of Trump’s tax returns showing the president paid $38 million on over $150 million in income from his business and media empire in 2005.
  • A simultaneous report on the Daily Beast, where Johnston is a contributor, showed Trump and his wife Melania paid a cumulative $5.3 million in regular income taxes, a rate of under 4%, and another $31 million in the “alternative minimum tax,” a tax for individuals and organizations with special circumstances that allow them to pay a lower rate.
  • That means, in 2005, Trump paid net federal taxes of roughly 25.33%. As the Daily Beast noted, Trump appears to have taken advantage of a $916 million loss from his casino businesses in 1995 to lower his overall tax burden even as late 2005.
  • The two pages of Trump’s 2005 were released on Johnston’s website, though it was crashing from heavy traffic as of Tuesday evening.
  • In response, the White House gave an identical quote to several media organizations confirming that Trump paid $38 million on his 2005 tax bill, Reuters’ Jennifer Ablan reported. The White House added the president had a responsibility to “pay no more than legally required.” Read more (3/14/17 9:35 PM)

How to make study dates more about studying (and have fun at the same time)

7 useful tips on spicing up and/or sweetening the productive study sessions with your luvah 🔥

  1. If a class includes requires reading, curl up on the couch and read aloud to each other. If you have the time to goof off a bit, read it in funny accents or voices, just for shits and giggles.
  2. It’s a no-brainer that during a study date, you’ll need some snacks. Stay productive and spice up the date by feeding each other *healthy* and romantic food like chocolate covered strawberries or dark chocolate in general.
  3. Use each other as a reward system. For every maths problem you correctly complete, you get a kiss or a hug or a neck massage.
  4. Go somewhere to study together. Have a picnic in the park or visit your local coffee shop and type away while playing footsie under the table. New environments are exciting and refreshing and add a sense of occasion to an otherwise boring cram-marathon.
  5. Make a game out of it. If you two have the same assignment that has numbered questions like maths, see who can correctly answer the most amount of questions in a limited amount of time. This will introduce competitive motivation and help identify where the holes in your understanding or process may be, as well as make it more fun.
  6. Make it a group date. Invite another couple(s) to join you to pool resources in case they can help you with an assignment, and to make it more fun.
  7. Flashcards can be fun with a partner, and bring in the aforementioned reward system. Boom. You’ve got a nice and steamy game show

Hey Nai, hope you're having a peaceful day. I have three raised beds in my herb garden, currently rosemary is the only permanent fixture. How do you recommend I make the most of the three beds utilising witchy and edible herbs? 💕

So, the absolute best way to have an herb garden (in my opinion anyway) is an herb spiralThe main reasons for this are 1) It provides more surface area for planting, maximizing the space, 2) Simulates different moisture levels, temperature, and light levels (full sun, partial shade, etc). This means that you can grow a variety of plants in one spot, including some you may not be able to grow normally in your climate 3) After set up, it has minimal maintenance, but tends to produce more due to specific needs being met.

I plan on documenting the new one I build - I just got the bricks today! (There’s other materials you can use instead)

Tips for flat beds/gardens in general:

  • Lasagna gardening. It sounds silly, I know, but it’s a method of farming that creates really healthy plants, with minimal weeding required. Read about it, you’ll thank me later.
  •  Look for companion plantsThis is more important if you plan to plant vegetables, as some vegetables can affect growth if planted next to each other, but another reason is pest control. A lot of herbs repel specific insects that tend to eat specific crops (like catnip, hyssop, rosemary and sage deter cabbage moth), so it’s a pesticide free way of protecting your garden. Some even encourage flavor or growth.
  • Make sure to pair plants with similar needs together - rosemary likes it a bit drier, so don’t plant it next to mint, which likes lots of water.
  • Actually it’s probably best if you left mint in a container. It’s a ‘weed’, as in it takes over everything and can be hard to get rid of. You should look into things like that as well before planting anything.
  •  If you have pets, please make sure to look into things that can hurt them. A lot of plants we like to use aren’t so good for our furry friends, some are actually deadly.

The Witchy side of things:

  • Talk/sing to your plants as you tend to them, and as you spend time in the garden. Some non-witchy people do this as well, because it encourages growth. Personally, I think the stronger your relationship with the plant spirit the more effective the harvest will be in spells, but that’s not verified or anything.
  • Making your own compost makes a wonderful offering/gift to thank the plants when you harvest them. It’s also good for them, and you can feel good knowing that you’re putting less stuff in a landfill.
  • If you’re the type to use sigils, lightly carving them on the surface of your garden is simple and invisible.
  • If you worship a certain deity, making a tribute garden can be a great gift to them. Some of the seeds I ordered are for that, actually.

  • Make a meditation space around your plants. If you work hard to make a healthy and peaceful garden, it can become your solace, and a sacred area for spellwork. A place to clear your head to focus on your craft is really beneficial! :)
