repent to allah

He is waiting for you to return to Him

Don’t let your sins weigh you down. And don’t let them be the cause of you despairing from the mercy of Allah.

Know that Allah will always be there waiting for you with His infinite Mercy and forgiveness even if you slip and fall again and again.

In a hadith it is mentioned that Allah stretches out His hand during the day so that the sinners of the night can repent and He stretches His hand during the night so that the sinners of the day can repent. And Allah will continue to stretch His hand during the day and night until the sun rises from the west.

Subhanallah, how much more beautiful can that get?

He does not need anyone, He does not need our worship, His Greatness does not increase by the whole of mankind worshipping Him. And yet, this Allah is more happier when His servant, when the likes of you and i, make tawbah to Him than a man who found his lost camel.

The biggest blessing is that Allah is our Lord. Because wallahi, who has this much love? He has billions of angels praising Him and prostrating to Him day and night, and yet, He is happy when we repent to Him.

Is this not a Lord worthy of worship? Indeed He is.

So turn to Him. For He loves you and He loves to hear your voice. Even if you’ve never worshipped Allah your whole life but you just decided to turn to Him just this once, He will accept your repentence and surround you with His Mercy.

A beautiful hadith Qudsi:

“O My slave, if you came to Me with an earthload of sins, not associating any partners with Me, I will come to you with an earthload of forgiveness.”

You know that story about Musa عليه السلام and his people being punished with a drought because of one man’s sins? But as soon as he repented, Allah forgave him and blessed them with rain.

Let that be a lesson for us. That it’s because of our sins that our muslim brothers and sisters are suffering. We are to blame for what is happening to them.

We expect victory when we’ve abondoned the Qur'an and sunnah. We expect victory when we’ve chosen this world and Allah has said the next world is better for us if we only knew.

Know that Allah will not change our condition until we change what is in ourselves. Wallahi, if you care an ounce for your muslim brothers and sisters then let what is happening to them be the reason you wake from heedlessness. Let what is happening to them on account of your sins be the reason you leave the path of disobeying Allah.

Let this be the reason that you change for the better. Turn back to Him and repent. Flee to Allah.

I want my innocence back. I want to be reborn without any sins upon my heart. But I know I can’t be born again. The key to washing my sins away and bringing peace to my mind is by one thing and one thing only; Repentance.

A man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said, “Oh Messenger of Allah, (what if) one of us has committed a sin?”

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “It will be written against him.”

The man said, “Then he has sought forgiveness and repented.”

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “He will be forgiven and his repentance accepted.”

The man said, “Then he returns to the sin.”

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “It will be written against him.”

The man said, “Then he has sought forgiveness and repented.”

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “He will be forgiven and his repentance accepted. Allah will not stop forgiving you unless you stop seeking forgiveness.

— [Reported by Uqbah ibn Amir, Mu’jam Al-Awsat 8918]

Your fear of being punished because of your sins should open a door of hope for you, not close it. For Allah has said He will never close His doors in front of you as long as you keep turning to Him. As long as you keep asking for forgiveness. Even if your sins are as wide as the heavens and the earth, His doors will never close. Unless you close them yourself. And they will only close because you despaired of His Mercy.

Remember that when you sleep tonight, your soul will leave you and return to Allah. If you’re going to live another day, Allah will send your soul back for a short time before it is called back again each night until its final calling.

Knowing that our souls will definitely leave us tonight, we should all fix whatever wrongs we have done. We must mend any broken connections with Allah. We must apologise and try to fix the wrong we have done to other people. Don’t let your soul return to Allah tonight covered in sins and bad deeds. Repent to Allah while you remind yourself that you’re preparing for your soul to return to Allah tonight, because it WILL return to Allah. Whether you live another day or 100 years, your soul will still return to Allah tonight. Let it return to Him in a state that you and Allah are pleased with.

— Mobeen Hakeem

You’ve sinned.

You’ve sinned so much. So much that it seems like there is no ray of hope of forgiveness anymore.

O withered soul, what caused you to do such?

Everyone has their own downfall, everyone has their own flaws and of course everyone has their own selfish desires and this is what makes us humans.

No one is perfect nor will even be delivered to this dunya and arrive in the akhirah without a stain of sins….soaked in rivers of repentance.

You have done wrong, and you have to admit that to yourself, the shaitan will keep luring you on reasoning out and justifying your actions, do not let him.

You know your real actions and desires while other people around you might be just blindly accepting and trusting you but know that the One who Hears and Sees everything, knows every bit of it

Indeed, we all have a heart that desires but we also have to realize that with that desires are corners of temptations that will keep us thinking that what we are doing will be understood later on or that what we are doing will be accepted by someone who we think loves us or understands us.

I am telling you, it’s not that way.

When things are made to be evident by Allah Azza Wa Jall, that your actions will be justified by Allah Azza Wa Jall infront of those whom you’ve done wrong, the pain won’t struck you… it will strike the very core of the hearts of those who blindly trusted you... and for you, nothing but shame will be the there.

Now things are cluttering up on your mind, and you want to go back to where all it started. So let me cut the crap for you and save you from a long painful journey of memories.  You lacked the fear of Allah, the consciousness of Allah, the intention of pleasing Allah.

I am not telling you, you don’t have any “taqwa” anymore, but what I am telling you is that you opened doors for others to the place where it should have been [should always be] only for Allah Azza Wa Jall.

You might have loved someone more, you might have wanted something more, you might have desired for someone or something more, not other than Allah Azza Wa Jall but other than pleasing Allah Azza Wa Jall. Now there’s the difference, and that’s where shaitan will always lure you.

So, you’ve fallen, you’ve failed, you’ve been defeated, you’ve been… you can call it with every negative word you want it but I am telling you, YOU HAVEN’T.

If you think, you have failed or defeated on it, then what made you read this entry up to this point? Why do you feel so bad about what you have done? You know why, it’s because you fear Allah, you love Allah and there is that hint of light that glows within your heart that you want to better things up, that you want to renew what has been withered and that you want to be closer to Him than ever before.

And do you know who put this light on your heart? It is Allah. Subhan'Allah.

He calls you back to Him. Subhan'Allah.

He puts this light on your path back to Him. Subhan'Allah.

The only reason why there are tears falling down your eyes right now, is because He comforts you that with every tear falling, he gives you a feeling of relief in your heart and that after this, He puts this ray of hope in your heart that He will forgive you, as long as you repent, sincerely.

He is At Tawaab. The One who accepts the tawbah [repentance] of the one who makes tawbah. Allahu'akbar.

YOU HAVE NOT FAILED. You are still there, you might have been injured, but Allah heals you, He always does, so right now, what you can do is to actually “Repent” and come back to Him.

How many times have we encountered that hadith qudsi where Allah Azza Wa Jall says that when His servant comes to Him walking He comes running. Subhan'Allah.

My dear brother and sister in Islam, we all make mistakes, but what matters is how we accept it and how we make repentance over it.

Indeed, we read a lot of stories about great people who were once sinners but look at how Allah Azza Wa Jall raised their statuses after they have given their lives in full service and worship to Allah?

‘Umar Ibn Al Khattab Radiyallahu Anhu wanted to kill the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam, was a alcohol drinker but look at that light that Allah Azza Wa Jall gave him that he became one of the greatest Caliph of Islam and became one of those ten promised of Jannah. Wallahi, it’s the same light Allah is giving you right now.

Do not lose hope, help yourself, pray the next salah after you have read this, and talk to Allah Azza Wa Jall, repent and ask for His Forgiveness.

For when He forgives the One who Repents, He makes those who Love Him, forgive that person as well and creates that love in the hearts of those who Love Him to love that person who repented as well.

The solution to your problem, your grief, your regret and all that bad things that are happening in your life right now is none other than Allah. The relationship between you and Allah.

So let not a day pass by without you sincerely uttering, Astagfirullah.

Remember, Allah will never give up on you, so don’t give up on Him as well.

And we pray that Allah Azza Wa Jall continues to guide every Muslim who have done wrong here and there back to Him.

A single teardrop begging for His forgiveness with sincerity can wipe out your sins. Allah loves to forgive! Don’t hesitate. Repent. Ask Allah to forgive all the Muslims as well insha'Allah

Ibn al-Qayyim rahimahuAllāh is mentioned to have said that the one who criticises someone for their sin is actually worse than the one who sinned.

I remember the first time I heard that and it didn’t really affect me. The thing is, we don’t understand something until we go through it.

A couple of years ago there was a sister who had fallen into some sin, and because she didn’t take the advice that I had given her at the time, I felt extremely frustrated and angry with her - So much that I ended up judging her.

What’s worse than this is, that this sisters sins was on my tongue a lot and I clearly remember feeling better in some kind of way, Allahu al-Musta'ān!

Years went by, and the sister repented back to Allah - Me on the other hand, I suddenly found myself falling into that exact same sin that I had criticised this sister for some time back.

And not only had I fallen into the same sin, I went further than she ever did.

And every single time I struggle with my Iman or I am stuck on a sin, I remember this sister and I am left with no doubt in my heart that the punishment for judging her was falling into the same and worse.

I told a sister about this today and she said: “You know sometimes when you can’t even look yourself in the mirror because the reflection disgust you? And you know how bad of a person you are so you’re just in constant shame?”

After answering yes to all that she then said: “How can you know all this about yourself, and still think you’re better than the one in front of you who has only showed you 2 % of their sins? Isn’t yours enough?”

What do you even say to that?

Driving past this mud, I just had to get out of the car and take a picture. Not only to share it with you, but to remind myself that, I am not better than anyone else.

The beauty just behind this mud, made me think of every person I ever looked down on because of their sins, and so I found myself talking to Allah asking Him:

“Allahumma, let not this tongue of mine send me into destruction because of what it used to utter. I stand before you acknowledging my sins and I plead guilty to every single one of them.

Take my heart out of the mud my own hands dipped it into and save me from drowning into this quicksand of unfair judgement”

We are to busy with what fulan and fulana did yesterday that we forget what we ourselves did just today.

We are covered in mud and instead of taking a shower in Tawba, we are busy with other people’s faults.

Don’t judge or belittle anyone because of the sins they commit. Because not only will you be sinful while doing so, but you will end up in that exact same action one day, only so that you can be taught a lesson by The Only One who puts people to account.

Focus on you .. You can’t afford anything else.

Imam Ibnu Taymiyyah said,

“When the believer commits a sin, its punishment can be pushed away via 10 ways:

1 – By repentance and thus Allah pardons him, for the one who repents from sin is just like the one who had not committed the sin

2 – Or he asks Allah for forgiveness and thus is forgiven

3 – Or he does good deeds which, by their nature, wipe sins away.

4 – Or when his brothers from the believers make Du’ah for Allah to pardon him, whether he is dead or alive.

5 – Or when they gift some of their good deeds to him

6 – Or when the Prophet (PBUH) intercedes for him on the day of Judgement

7 – Or when Allah trials him with calamities in the life of this world which erase sins

8 – Or when Allah trials him in the grave which erases sins

9 – Or when Allah trials him on the Day of Judgement via its horrors which erases sins

10 – Or when the Most Merciful shows mercy to him”

Imam Ibnu Taymiyyah goes on to say,

فَمَنْ أَخْطَأَتْهُ هَذِهِ الْعَشَرَةُ فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إلَّا نَفْسَهُ

“So whoever misses every one of these ten ways, then let him not blame anyone but himself.” (Majmoo’ Al-Fatawah)

Reread points number 1 and 2, as the neglected Sunnah which this reminder will allude to focuses on them.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,
ما من رجلٍ يذنب ذنباً، ثمَّ يقوم فيتطهر، ثمَّ يصلِّي - وفي رواية: ركعتين - ثمَّ يستغفر الله؛ إلا غفر الله له

“There isn’t anyone who commits a sin but then gets up, purifies himself, prays two units of prayer, and then asks Allah for forgiveness except that Allah will forgive him” (narrated by Abu Dawood and At-Tirmithi and classified as authentic by Al-Albany)

This is a Sunnah that screams out in desperation, urging every sinner to revive it.

We will most certainly fall weak, perhaps we may trespass a limit of Allah in privacy or at times, even come out with the sin in public. This will not pass without repercussions.

A beautiful reminder indeed.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَوْبَةً نَّصُوحًا

O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance

—  Quran, 66:8

If you desire to become Allah’s beloved repent a sincere and deep repentance

“Verily, Allah loves those who repent and those who purify themselves.”
[Surah Al-Baqarah 2: Ayah 222]

“And O believers, all of you, repent to Allah in order that you may be successful.”
[Surah An-Nur 24: Ayah 31]
