remember when this came out

i just remembered a rumor when tfa came out about how poe/finn/rey wasnt supposed to be the main trio and the next movie was gonna have other characters or something and that they had to make a lot of changes for the next movie because people liked finn and poe and like uuuuuuuuuuuuuh so it was true?? im so sad thinking they are really gonna get sidelined or given unimportant roles because poe was supposed to die at the start and finn was just created as a plot device for rey and the !! Surprise she’s the force sensitive one!! Ddmsmskd im so mad and everything fucking sucks

i got into overwatch cause my thirst for reaper was so strong. it was getting popular and i was kinda like "meh looks cool, that 76 guy is attractive" then i saw some reaper fanart and immediately dropped 50 bucks on the origins edition. i was doomed from the start.

76 was the popular gateway drug wasn’t  he

I remember everyone being all over him when it first came out. I mean a lot of them still are but like, man there was a lot of thirsty people out there craving that specific old man dick.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how old I am in technology years lately so here’s a bit of reminiscing for you kids in the form of stuff you’ll thankfully never know the pain of

  • having to rewind cassette tapes. you want to hear your favourite song again? no just clicking <<. nope, you gotta manually rewind that shit and keep hitting play to see if you’re at the beginning again.
  • like listening to your own music in the car? back in my day we had to bring a bag full of CDs and swap them out in our portable CD players. if the car went over a bump, the CD would jump in the player and the music would skip. eventually the CDs would get wrecked. I killed so many CDs thanks to all the moving around I did as a kid.
  • stifling the dialup tone when your parents were in bed. want to sneak online? good luck. I had the modem squeezed between my legs, with two pillows pressed on top of it, and still. crrrrrRRRSSSHHHHHHHHHHH
  • fucking. homepage wars. hacking was a lot easier back in the day thanks to no one knowing shit about security and nerds like my generation quickly learning more than the web developers did. this resulted in carnage if you owned your own webpage. it was commonplace for different groups to have wars and constantly hack each other’s pages and deface them. you could trust no one. you leave for five seconds and suddenly your state of the art homepage and all its lit wordart graphics has been replaced with a plain text message insinuating something about your mother.
  • an entire room in your house was dedicated to the computer. it was called the computer room. it was filled with wires you were constantly tripping over, and thanks to the fact you were on a desktop, there was no battery life. you better get used to tripping over your power cord or rolling back in your chair and ripping it out of the wall, therefore instantly shutting off your computer, because it’s going to happen multiple times a week my guy.
  • “get off the internet, I need to use the phone” “how long will you be?” “only a couple of minutes” *two hours later*
  • I’m pretty sure it was messenger that had this, but basically if someone ignored your message for too long you could send them graphics that would hijack their entire browser and pop up on the screen. they were huge and would sometimes make the screen shake and I heard rumours that some of them could even make noise.
  • this is one that’s near and dear to me because I spent like 60% of my childhood in a car but handheld game consoles didn’t have built in lights. I remember playing Pokemon on my big purple GameBoy as it got dark, holding the screen closer and closer to my face, and eventually having to resort to quickly jamming the buttons when we passed under a streetlight. I remember when the GameBoy Advance SP came out with a built in back light and I lost my fucking mind.
  • *is two seconds away from finally downloading a picture online that’s been downloading for 15 minutes* *someone picks up the phone downstairs* *internet disconnects* *download fails* *why must you hurt me in this way*
  • writing everything you wanted to say online in the raw html code because it didn’t do it automatically. fine if you just wanted to make things bold or underlined, a lot more annoying when you wanted to add an image or bullet points or something. no such thing as a quick rant.

this is really long already so I’ll stop here but long story short it was a dark time and you all should grab every technological advancement you can with both hands and never let them go. for the sake of my childhood self, nose-to-screen with a GameBoy. do not let them go.

What’s Going on Over There!?

In response to questions about my earlier post from a C-EXOL in regards to Yixing (Lay) not being able to attend the upcoming Exordium in (insert country name) 2017 tour, I’m going to attempt to give a run down of what’s going on as I understand it. Any citizens of either country please correct me if there are any inaccuracies.

As of Today (yesterday for Korea) the South Korean court officially removed Park Geun-Hye as president…she gone. However, while she was in office (around summer time 2016), S. Korea and the U.S. of A came up with, agreed to creating and executed a THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) defense system to protect them against the missile threats that were coming from N. Korea. China was not a fan of the system for they believe “it will enable deep military surveillance that undermines Chinese and Russian security.”

Once S. Korea gave the thumbs up to execute the system, China began restricting all things Hallyu:

Some of the restrictions reportedly outlined in the prohibition are:

  • A ban on Korean organizations filming in Korea
  • A ban on investing in new Korean agencies
  • A ban on Korean idol concerts with over 10,000 audience members
  • A ban on Korean-Chinese collaborative projects
  • A ban on broadcasting dramas with Korean actors

These bans include satellite broadcasts and online video sites.

Remember when Uncontrollably Fond came out and Suzy and Kim Woo Bin were supposed to go over to China to promote the drama and do a fan meeting but it mysteriously got cancelled like the day before? yeah, this is why. Remember when EXO was supposed to do an Exordium in Shanghai and that abruptly got cancelled too? Yeah, this is why. Remember when Chou Tzu-yu from Twice waived a Taiwan flag on national television and some of y’all ripped her to shreds publicly causing the girl to have a mini nervous breakdown and Twice was banned from Chinese TV as a result!? yeah, China also opposes Taiwan’s independence. Remember when Yixing posted the Chinese flag on IG and dang near all of y’all ripped him to shreds too!?!? yeah….i’m gonna save that rant for another post.

So why are C-EXOLs asking for support for Yixing from international & K-EXOLs? because he is literally banned from any Korean activity!! our dear unicorn can’t be with EXO at this time because of political differences and this applies to any kpop group that has a Chinese member: F(X), Miss A, Super Junior, EXO, etc. etc. Yixing was the face for Lotte Duty free in Korea with EXO but all the Chinese uproar has cancelled that and he has been removed.

So there you have it folks. It’s always unfortunate and discouraging to read about these things not just in your own country but around the world. Politics is a beast and it feeds on greed, fear and corruption. It’s like Biff Tannen from Back to the Future, like Scar from The Lion King, like Sid from Toy Story. Hopefully you will keep the other innocent citizens of said countries who are now caught in this mess in your thoughts as well.

remember when The Interview™ came out where yoongi said his ideal type wasn’t limited to girls n all the homophobes were up in arms about “mistranslation!!!” and how the interview was translated from korean into japanese into english and we “shouldn’t take it so literally” but it turned out that if you looked at the original japanese it was even more unambiguous bc the phrase used literally translated as “gender doesn’t matter” and was ALSO derived from the same chinese phrase as the korean phrase? clocked.

I remember when XY first came out and I saw people say that it was going to be their first pokemon game and I was amazed. Same thing happened when ORAS came out too. I mean gen 6 was my kids first as well.

Now we are moving ahead with Pokemon Sun and Moon and I have already seen people say that it will be their first pokemon game. It makes me think about the first time I put my pokemon red game into my gameboy and fell in love with a game that has been such a large part of my life.

I hope that whatever gen was your first from gen 1 to gen 7, that you experience that same magic too.

did bighit deadass just confirm the motel connection between yoongi and jungkook…because remember the theory that everyone had when run came out, that the plaid shirt in yoongi’s motel room was jungkook’s…? well, here we can see jungkook in/near a different motel, and wearing a dark hoodie (interestingly, with flames on it…which could foreshadow how yoongi died in his motel room), meaning he must have left after his fight with yoongi…but in the other clips, you can clearly see him wearing almost the exact same plaid shirt as the one that was in yoongi’s room…meaning that despite whatever might have happened, there really was something going on between the two of them
