Reasons to watch Skam

Portrays realistic friendships (arguing, supporting each other, and Eva’s lost friendship with Ingrid, etc)

Depicts teens and their actual everyday lives (school, drugs/alcohol, mental illnesses/eating disorders, religion, sexuality, bullying/violence, etc.)

Realistic characters (actor’s skin imperfections are not covered with makeup, variety of body types, etc)

Characters get called out for stereotyping others

When you call yourself an Indian or a Muslim or a Christian or a European, or anything else, you are being violent. Do you see why it is violent? Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind. When you separate yourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence. So a man who is seeking to understand violence does not belong to any country, to any religion, to any political party or partial system; he is concerned with the total understanding of mankind.
—  J. Krishnamurti

as a black person who does something that’s a mostly white sport (ballet), i really feel all nursey is not really chill because of his experiences as a black man in a white industry headcanons in my soul.

dude the things you don’t say when you’re the only black person in a room. looking around and realizing you’re the only black person in a room. it’s like so shocking and weird, especially if you’re coming for a house filled with poc, like i imagine nursey is.

idk where i was going with this but derek nurse is angry. he’s mad he spent so much time trying to assimilate when he was younger, he’s mad his grandma got his little sister bleaching soap for her 12th birthday, he’s mad he has “"good hair”“ and people think it’s okay to tell him that he’s ”“not like the rest of them.”“ he’s mad about the things their opponents grit out that he can never report, he’s mad about the looks him and ransom have to share across the table sometimes. he’s mad about people saying “i didn’t even know black people could play hockey!” he’s mad that he’s been in love in with poetry since he was eight but poets who look like him are taught as electives instead of core classes like they aren’t all that got him through high school. he’s just . mad . he’s angry and 90% of the time he wants to scream his fucking head off but he already fought back once. when he was at andover.

“they’re all the same, you know.” an administrator says under her breath after they pull derek off. his knuckles are throbbing and the words set like concrete.

when he was punching, he felt like he would never stop. like he would keep going and going until the entire world apologized for how fast he had to grow up just to survive. (his mothers look at him like he is so lucky to be alive. they look like the pictures of mary before jesus was crucified, to derek. he realizes this version of the story will end with him on a cross.)

at least, he thinks, when he is laying in leaves and reading poetry, his hands are his own sometimes. at least, he thinks, watching dex peel off his Samwell Republican sticker, there are moments when the anger leaves.

What makes Richard Ramirez so attractive ?

Contrary to Bundy, Richard Ramirez ever tried to sport an image of innocence. He embraced his inside “beast” and played it. He claimed that he was the son of Satan himself, which made him the favorite of satanists and anti-religion people. With the violence of his murders, Ramirez had a kind of chaotic power that most passive hybrisophiliacs look for. He fits to the perfect dominants for submissive masochists women. According to the nature of his crimes, the  Night Stalker reached this level of pure evil that fascinates and even tempts to wake some darksides. He’s like the bad side that mostly lonely people never had the courage to light up. Morevover, Ramirez incarnated the trend of “superstar killer” which made him a kind of groupies catcher. His fame works like he was a rock star. Like Phillip Carlo said about him, “Richard is one of the most infamous of all condemned, a kind of homicide superstar… the Mick Jagger of murder”.

“If violence is wrong in America, violence is wrong abroad. If it is wrong to be violent defending black women and black children and black babies and black men, then it is wrong for America to draft us, and make us violent abroad in defense of her. And if it is right for America to draft us, and teach us how to be violent in defense of her, then it is right for you and me to do whatever is necessary to defend our own people right here in this country.” ~ Malcolm X

The Realest

96 people killed in Baghdad, Iraq, with a rising death toll.

40 people killed in Ataturk Airport, Istanbul.

20 people killed in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Violence has no religion. No tragedy is worse or more outrageous because of geographical location. Their lives are as important as anyone else’s in the West.
