Pokémon GO: Celebrate the end of the year with Pokémon GO

- Starting December 25 until January 3 there will be a increases of hatching a Togepi (and other Pokémon)

- PokéStops will award one single-use Incubator each day after your first Photo Disc spin. As you visit PokéStops during this time period, there will be a greater chance of finding Eggs that hatch Togepi, Pichu, and several other recently found Pokémon, originally discovered in the Johto region. Special Pikachu wearing festive hats will also be staying around a bit longer! You are more likely to find these limited-edition Pikachu during the time period of this celebration.

- Staring December 30, 2016, through the afternoon of January 8, 2017 (PST), the first partner Pokémon and their Evolutions, originally discovered in the Kanto region, are more likely to be encountered. This means a greater chance to catch Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur, as well as Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard, plus Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise! As a way to increase your chance to encounter one of these Pokémon, Lure Modules will also last for 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes.

Day 29!

Now that you’ve proven yourself worth of at least 8 badges, it’s time for a bigger challenge!

Elite 4 Mariah Carey is ready to battle and test you! Can you handle her and proceed to the next room?

Mariah is a really rich and famous trainer in the Pop Region and specializes in Flying-type Pokémon. A good curiosity is that she’s obsessed with shiny Pokemon, from her Skarmory to her Delibird (afterall, all she wanted for Christmas was him). She didn’t find each one of them in the wild, but I guess money can buy almost everything these days, right?

Her last acquisition was an Alolan Meowth she met while spending her New Year Eve in Alola. Some people say this Meowth got her attention during her concert and that’s why she had some troubles while singing on that day. Well, rumor has it. At least now they belong together.

Imagine Gen 8 on the Switch

Imagine having a full-fledged main story Pokémon game on a console that’s also a portable system.

Imagine them making the game with a little bit better graphics than Sun and Moon so that there’s plenty of left over room on the cartridge so that they can also remake and cram in the previous 7 regions so you can go and re-experience each region in rich, glorious graphics.

Imagine after collecting 8 championships in 8 regions and unlocking a special Master Championship where you have to fight all the previous champions back to back to back with no rest in between to prove you are a true Pokémon Master.

Just imagine.

Prince Harry will appear with music superstar Rihanna during his upcoming two-week royal tour of the Caribbean.

Harry, 32, will join Rihanna at a celebration to mark the 50th anniversary of Barbados’ independence from British rule. Rihanna, a native of Barbados, is expected to sing the national anthem at the celebration, accompanied by a choir of children.

Harry will tour nine different countries and Commonwealth realms throughout the Caribbean from Nov. 20 to Dec. 4. Harry, who is now one of the monarchy’s best weapons at diplomacy, will be there to generate goodwill in the Caribbean.

The tour will focus on themes important to Harry, including social issues, young people and the military and conservation efforts that will include visiting baby sea turtles and exploring the natural beauty of the region.

“Prince Harry holds special memories of his last visit to the Caribbean, and of the warmth, friendliness and sense of fun that comes so naturally to this region,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. “His Royal Highness is greatly looking forward to meeting more of the people who call it home, and for the opportunity during this tour to be visiting some countries for the first time.“

Harry, fifth-in-line to the British throne, has made two previous official visits to the Caribbean, where he often spent holidays as a child with Prince William and their late mother, Princess Diana.

APH Czech Republic: [sighs] My name is so long.

APH America: [pops out of nowhere] HOW ABOUT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

APH England: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland! HAH! BEAT THAT!

APH Hong Kong: Pfffttt, you’re no match for me. Say hello to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of The People’s Republic of China.

One of the largest night markets in Taiwan, 六合夜市 (Liuhe Night Market) has over a hundred food and merchandise stalls that stretches along a major thoroughfare in the middle of the city. Here, you’ll find all the Taiwanese street food staples: 滷味 (assorted braised food), 牛肉麵 (beef noodle), 珍珠奶茶 (bubble tea), 鹽酥雞 (fried chicken), 豆花 (tofu pudding dessert), 大腸包小腸 (sticky rice rolls stuffed with sausages), 肉圓 (ba-wan). You’ll also find regional specialities such as 擔仔麵 (dan zai noodles) and 烏魚子 (mullet roe)!

So me and my friend were talking about Grimsley and how he seems a bit shabby and we read some really sad teories, so we decided to make an AU(?) where he and Burgh are a married couple on their honeymoon at Alola region. (special thanks to this amazing fan fiction we fell literally in love)
I made a new design for Burgh (yes that is Grimsley’s old scarf)
Hope you like it, I’ll be really happy to talk with all of you about Absintheshipping and if you are some idea feel free to contact me

So uh, there was a thing going around on Chatotter where couple of trainers in the Alola region got a special "Rotom" pokedex and the entries... Are interesting to say the least. Have you heard about this? If so, do you think Rotom may have something to do with the weird and creepy entries?

I have indeed, anonymous! You don’t get to where I am in the field of pokémon technology without having your fingers on the metaphorical pulse of, well, pokémon technology—and the “rotom dex,” as it’s called, is certainly the innovation of the year. I’ve heard about it for months, ever since word first spread out of Kalos about its development, and believe me, since the moment I’d heard about it, I have always wanted to get my hands on one. Unfortunately, while I could easily get the shell, the rotom is the difficult part. Even with my connections, not a single one has a rotom to trade, let alone any definitive leads on where one might be (outside of Sinnoh’s Old Chateau, which is unfortunately spoken for in terms of a trainer).

That aside, it’s entirely possible. Being ghost-types, rotom are naturally mischievous, and they don’t lose all of their personalities upon possession of an electronic device. On the other hand, Alola is hardly the only region with morbid entries (for good reason, oftentimes), so in some cases, it may simply be the nature of the subjects themselves. This, quite honestly, is one of the many reasons why I would love to get a rotom dex of my own.

(The other reasons, of course, largely involve the idea of holding actual conversations with a ghost-type pokémon.)

American Wizard Headcanon

So, boarding schools aren’t as much of a thing in the US. But you know what is? Summer camp. Kids get sent away to sleep over camp or to a day camp, sometimes for huge chunks of the summer. You know what else is big? Sunday School/religion classes. Combining these two ideas, I’d say American wizards learn through a combination of home study, weekend classes for practice and magic/potion lessons, and summer camp for the big stuff like flying and patronus casting.

Another experience that’s becoming popular is spending a semester or summer “abroad.” Students pick an area they want to study, like potions, magizoology, hexes, ect. and a region of the world to study in to find programs. Obviously, some regions specialize in specific things. Peru and Central America for magical history, the Amazon Basin for botany, Mexico and the Western United States for cryptids, the Southeastern United States for hoodoo and so on. Some go across the sea, to Asia or Europe or Africa or even Australia to learn about culture and magic from a different point of view.

Many also turn to the indigenous populations for knowledge as well, especially in last 20 years. The tribal elders and civic leaders of the tribes that still exist have been/are understandably wary. Most students have at least one ancestor who was native and they want to reconnect with their heritage. In the past few decades, it has become more acceptable to acknowledge that part of one’s heritage. All of the tribes still in existence have magic education, even if it was in secret. Now, they are slowly welcoming outsiders who want to know about their heritage and the old ways.

What are Gruntcle and Opal's favorite snacks? Do they like the special regional snacks? (Like Lavaridge cookies, rage candy bar and such)

Opal: “Lumiose Galette. There’s nothing better to compliment the taste of MooMoo Milk and no snack I miss more that I’ll never have the chance to eat again.”

Gruntcle/Don: “Okay don’t tell anyone, but I get Lavaridge cookies imported in because they’re delicious. I mean have you ever bitten into one? They’re so good~”

Japanese green tea Kit Kats are pretty much common place these days, but something new on shelves now, and only on sale in certain parts of Japan, are Kumamoto Tea flavored Kit Kits! And of course, the ever-popular Kumamon character is front and center on the package. These are available now in select shops in Kyushu and Okinawa.
