Reggie Mantle x Reader: Flower Power

Request:

A/N: This one was so cute to write, so I hope you guys enjoy. Also sorry for being a bit slow on uploading requests my cat likes to bother me while I write. Tomorrow I’m going to be busy, so don’t expect much tomorrow sorry. Also the reader will be a Lodge in this imagine and is moving in to Riverdale with her family after what her dad did.

Words: 1207

Summary: Reader is new to Riverdale and she hears all these rumors about Reggie Mantle from her sisters (Veronica) friend Betty, but she believes in goodness in everyone even Reggie.

Spoilers: N/A

Warnings: Reggie and Reader cuteness overload.

Moving was hard, moving away from all your friends and everything you’ve even known and starting from scratch was harder. Your mother Hermione always talked fondly about her time at Riverdale. She and your father grew up there and since your mother had some property there, you were now moving from the radiant awake city that was New York.

What made it easier was your sister Veronica, she was the more stylish one, and you were only a few months apart. She was your partner in crime, you don’t think you could survive without her.

You moved into Riverdale in the middle of the downpour. The chaos of a murderer on the loose and the beloved quarterback Jason Blossom life came to sad end.

Veronica made friends with a sweet girl named Betty in the summer and Betty introduced you to her friends. Kevin had no filter which you loved, Archie was complicated (but he was good at music and hoped to join the football team when school started a bit of a cliché). Jughead Jones the Third he claimed, was a bit of a mystery, but a great writer.

One day you were all hanging out in the park, when you saw him alone with his dog.

“Who’s that?” you interrupted the conversation and pointed at the tall figure with luscious black hair.

“That’s Reggie Mantle” Kevin answered.

“Reggie” you cheered and Veronica gave you a smirk.

“He’s kind of a player (Y/N)” Betty chimed in.

“So is Veronica, that doesn’t mean I can hate and judge my sister” you chuckled as she gave you a nudge in the shoulder as the group laughed.

“He’s also a bully” Jughead spoke while typing away on his laptop.

“Sorry that he bullies you, but bullies do have a reason for bullying even if it’s not the best argument, they have a reason” you reasoned.

“Why’d you think he bullies me?” Jughead retorted as he lifted his eyebrow.

“Oh, just a hunch” you replied with a smile on your face “I’ll be back” you shared with them as you stood up from the bench and walked towards Reggie, not wanting to be empty handed you picked up a daisy from the grass.

“Cute dog, does it have a name?” you gestured at Reggie.

“Vader” he answered as you reached your hand out to give him the daisy as he gave you a puzzled look.

“I come in peace” you reassured as you placed the small flower on his right ear.

“My name is (Y/N)” you pointed out as Vader was running after his tail.

“Reggie, you new around here?” he questioned as he fixed the daisy in his ear.

“That obvious, or is it the fact that in small towns everybody knows everybody” you chuckled.

“Well that, and you’re talking to me” he implied with a small smile.

“Well, I don’t know you and if I listened to what everyone had to say I could miss out on some great things” you claimed with a smile on your face and he chuckled.

You and Reggie actually became great friends. He confided in you on things he’d never say to anyone, you would even go jogging together every morning and you made sure to always have a flower for him, and he always sweetly placed it in his ear. He also promised to leave Jughead alone.

Tomorrow was going to be your first day at Riverdale High. Your mother, Veronica and you occupied the dinner table as Smithers brought you your food.

“So mija” your mother spoke “I heard you have been hanging out with Reggie Mantle a lot” your mother directed at you.

“Yeah, I have, he’s a really great guy” you claimed.

“Rumor has it-” your mother was cut off by you.

“Rumor has it what?! Mom, I cannot stand it when people label people before getting to know them. We are who are, not what people say we are. I am not a corrupt money taker like people claim because of my father’s mistake. Reggie is who he is, he shows a different side to the world and it is a privilege to know the real Reggie. Besides he just lost a friend to a murderer on the loose in your beloved Riverdale mom. I don’t want to hear any more of this.” You ranted and dropped your fork, now at a loss in your appetite because of your mother.

“I’m sorry (Y/N), I- I was out of line, and you are so correct” your mother concluded and Ronnie took your hand in hers.

The school day was about to start and Betty was assigned to show you and Veronica around. Betty pointed you to your first class as you scanned the hallways for Reggie to give him his flower of the day.

“Do you really think he’ll take your flower in front of the whole school and his neanderthals?” Ronnie questioned you as Betty gave you a small smile.

“If he doesn’t, then you were all right. I wasted my time getting to know a great guy who was too scared to show his true self to the world, and I’ll never speak to him again.” You proclaimed.

You left Betty and Veronica and made your way to Reggie who was at his locker with his posse.

“Hey Reg” you spoke up a bit nervous because you were really hoping he wouldn’t turn you down because you enjoyed hanging out with him.

“Hey (Y/N)” Reggie turned away from his posse.

“Hmm, you’re wearing a cap” you gave him a sad smile.

“That’s okay” he answered with a chuckle as he placed the flower on the hole of his snapback.

You couldn’t help but place a huge smile on your face as he showed of his flower of the day for all the school to see.

Later you were home alone your mom was working at Pops and Veronica was trying out for the River Vixens with Betty, since Smithers had just stepped and you jumped when you heard the doorbell ring.

A bit scared since you were binge watching Criminal Minds and there was a murderer on the lose you grabbed a bat and opened the door.

“Whoa! (Y/N) you can but the bat down it’s just me” Reggie removed the bat from your hands and dropped it as you let him in.

“What you got there?” you cheered at the bouquet of flowers Reggie had in his hands.

“Um” Reggie scratched his head as he still had his flower of the day on his forehead clinging from the snapback “I- I was hoping you would accompany me to the homecoming dance this Friday” he confessed as you took the bouquet.

“Oh my god” you gasped at the bouquet.

“Yeah um it has every single flower you have given me” he concluded as you pulled him into a hug.

As soon as he let go you planted a kiss on his soft lips and mentally thanked the universe for letting him into your life no matter what anyone said.

“So that’s a yes” Reggie cheered as you both let go.

“For you, a thousand times over (This is a quote from The Kite Runner)” you smiled.

Showing What’s Yours (Reggie x Reader)

Request: your dating Reggie for a couple years & when Veronica comes she likes him and tries to like break them up. But then she sees how much we love each other & feels really bad.

Veronica stepped her way inside of Riverdale High with Betty on one side and Kevin on the other. For her first day here she didn’t feel as nervous as she thought she would but it all changed when they walked in. Everyone stopped and stared, most were whispering about what Veronica assumed to be her. Making their way down the hallway Kevin and Betty were telling her all of the latest gossip of Jason Blossom murder. It happened to be the talk of the town and they didn’t want her to be completely clueless on her first day.

“There is Archie Andrews” Kevin said as he pointed over to a redhead boy by the lockers. “Betty best friend and soulmate”

“You two are dating?” Veronica asked cursorily, wanting to know more on this wonderful topic.

“Shh Kevin and no we are not we’re just friends.”

“That Betty is here in love with but is too sacred to say anything about it” Kevin spoke at he looked at the handsome boy as Betty eyed him down not impressed he was doing this here in the school hallway.

“Who’s that?” Veronica asked as she lifted her eyebrows liking what she was seeing. A tall built boy was making his way to Archie’s side at his locker. She had to admit he was hot.

“That’s Reggie Mantle, he was one of Jason’s best friends. He also on the football team as well” Betty told Veronica. She nodded her head he was for sure her type.

As the four of them sat at the lunch table talking and enjoying their food, Veronica let her eyes wander the school yards. Looking at all of the different kind of social groups she wondering where she use to fit into. One table caught her eye, it was the football team. She scanned her eyes until she found Reggie, the boy she wanted to be hers. She was shocked as an random girl came up to him placing a water bottle in front of him, then went to leave but not before Reggie kissed her cheek.

“Who’s that?” She asked interrupting the conversion. All of them turned to see who Veronica was talking about, Kevin was the first one to speak

“That’s Y/N L/N, she’s a year older than us”

“She’s also Reggie girlfriend” Archie added causing Veronica eyes to widen.

“You guy didn’t tell me he had a girlfriend”

“You didn’t asked, what’s it to you anyway” Betty claimed before she realized what was on her mind. “It’s not going to happen V. They have been dating for years”

“Their the longest running couple in this school” Kevin added in.

“We will see about that” Veronica announced as she got up from her spot to make her way to her next class, passing by Reggie’s table she gave him a wink. He smiled but was slightly confused on what she was doing.

Knowing she was here before you were Veronica knew that was the perfect time to get started on her break up plan. Watching the boys leave the room one by one pretending she was there for Archie but she already knew he left, she waited. Until she saw the boy she was looking for Reggie. She moved to block his way of coming out of the room.

“Hey Reggie” V said as sweetly as she could.

“Veronica right? You are the new girl?” Reggie questioned remembering her from earlier that day when she winked at him. It hurt V a bit when he didn’t really know who she was but she didn’t care.

“Yes the one and only” She started while laying her hand on his chest. Reggie look down at her confused on what she was doing.

“W-” But she cutted him off, standing on her toes, she leaned to meet Reggie’s ear and whispered

“Meet me at Pop’s at eight, we could get some milkshakes” Before Reggie even had a chance to denied Veronica was already gone. You passed her on your way in but didn’t think anything of it until you got to Reggie.

“Hey sorry I’m late, Cheryl was talking to me. What’s wrong with you? You looked like you seen a ghost” You asked as you put your head on Reggie’s forehead making sure he didn’t have a fever.

“It’s nothing, just something that I got to deal with later” He smiled happy to see you finally here.

“Okay whatever Reg as long as everything is fine” Lacing your hands with his, you guys made your way to his car while chatting about each other day.

Reggie looked around Pop’s as he step in looking for Veronica. He came with one thing in mind and that was to turn her down. He didn’t like her like that because he loved you. Spotting her in one of the back booth he made his way over, siding in the seat across from her. Veronica smiled thinking she was getting to him and knowing that if she gets her way there wouldn’t be no more Reggie and you.

“Well look who decided to come” Veronica said cheerfully while reaching her hand across the table onto Reggie’s. He looked down with disgust and pull his hand back down by his side. V looked at him with a frown.

“I think you got the wrong idea Veronica” Reggie started to say but the door opened to Pop’s making V stared at the person who walked in. Reggie turned to see who was so important but wished he haven’t when he saw you. You caught sight of them right away and went over.

“Well well what do we have here?” You mocked full well knowing what it was.

“Babe it’s not what you think” Reggie said while getting up but you stopped him and pushed him back into the seat. Leaning over the table to come face to face with Veronica you started to speak

“Listen here Ms. Lodge, I know you are new and don’t know how this little town works yet but you should know one thing. You don’t go after someone else’s boyfriend. You knew he was taken  because Betty and them told you but you still had to try right?. I don’t know what’s going on in your mess up family and frankly I don’t care but if you value your life or that stupid pearl necklace you will stay away. Got it?” Veronica look at you wide eyes and nodded. She didn’t think that any of this was going to happen more so you telling her off. You seemed to sweet and innocent to do it but boy was she wrong. Standing back up straight you grabbed ahold of Reggie’s hand pulling him out behind you. Standing outside of Pop’s, Reggie only had one thing to say.

“Damn that was hot babe” Smirking Reggie felt proud that your were all his.

“What can I stay I love what’s mine and no bitch is going to take it away” You said with a laugh, Reggie then kiss you. You guys were each others and no one was going to stand in yours guys way of happiness.

Punch | Sweet pea imagine

Request: Hey may I request a Sweet pea X reader. The reader is a northsider who dated Reggie. And it takes place the night of the fight. ( south side vs red circle)

A/N: You didn’t specify what you wanted? So I just made something out of it, I hope you like it.

Jingle-Jangle, the stupid drug that ended your relationship. When you found out that your boyfriend Reggie was dealing the drugs you couldn’t believe it. Reggie could come off as kind of a jerk but he was sweet to you, you never thought he would be capable of dealing drugs. You had been devestated and had broke up with him.

That’s when the red circle came to be. Archie had some crazy vendetta and got the football team involved with it. He had thought of something called the red circle, it was basically some vigilanty group. You thought they were insane and did not want to get involved. You were done with Archie, Reggie and the rest of the football team.

‘‘Don’t you think they are absolutely insane?’‘ You were talking to Betty about the red circle, she was also worried and thought it was a crazy idea ‘‘It’s ridicilous, I get that Archie is scared but this goes way too far’‘ You agreed with her, you were glad someone understood you and was on the same page as you.

You and Betty were going to visit Jughead today and you were excited to see one of your best friends again, you hadn’t seen him a lot lately due to him changing schools. You missed Jughead as you had been best friends since the beginning. You and Betty entered FP’s trailer. ‘‘We’re here’‘ Jughead greeted the two of you happily and introduced you to Toni who was there as well. ‘‘Nice to meet you I’m y/n’‘ You shook her hand and she smiled at you. Toni seemed friendly and you were glad that Jughead was making new friends.

‘‘Have you guys heard?’‘ Toni asked and Jughead gave her a glare, ‘‘Heard what?’‘ Betty looked at Jughead who rolled his eyes, he didn’t like that Toni brought it up ‘‘Andrew showed up on serpent territory, tagged a building with some red circle and than threatened some guys with a gun’‘ You looked at Betty in shock, she looked back at you equally shocked. ‘‘Archie has a gun?’‘ You knew that Archie was getting insane but this was a whole other level. ‘‘Sweet pea is going over there tonight to get back at Archie’‘ Toni chuckled.

You, Betty and Jughead were all a little shocked and definitely didn’t laugh along with Toni. ‘‘Sweet pea is going to attack Archie?’‘ Toni nodded ‘‘Who’s Sweet pea?’‘ You had never heard of this guy ‘‘He’s some idiot at our school who thinks that violence is the only solution. And he hates Northsiders’‘ You were worried now, if that Sweet pea guy only believed in violence, there was a big chance Archie would end up getting hurt.

‘‘We have to do something’‘ You nodded along with Betty ‘‘But how?’‘ Nobody had an idea, what were you supposed to do in a situation like this? ‘‘Toni do you know where they’re meeting up?’‘ Toni nodded ‘‘That big bridge you know?’‘ ‘‘Let’s go’‘ You all left to go to the place where the showdown was supposed to happen. They hadn’t started yet, so you were just in time. You saw Reggie and stopped, what was he doing here?

‘‘What the hell are you doing here y/n?’‘ You looked at the guy in shock ‘‘I’m trying to stop this what the hell are you doing here?’‘ He laughed ‘‘I’m fighting, there’s no way you can stop this’‘ He laughed again ‘‘You can’t do shit’‘ You raised your brow ‘‘Excuse me?’‘ He grinned ‘‘You are useless, you are not capable of doing anything sweetheart, you are just a pathetic person’‘ You looked at him in anger, why was he acting like this? And before you knew it, you had punched him in the face. Reggie fell to the ground and it felt oddly satisfying however it had started the fight. Serpents against Bulldogs were fighting while you made your way to Jughead, Betty and Toni ‘‘What happened?’‘ Betty came to you and looked at your hand, it was all bruised and definitely hurt ‘‘He was being an asshole and I had hit him before I even knew it’‘ Betty shook her head ‘‘You shouldn’t have done that’‘ You sighed, you knew that but it had happend and there was nothing you could do now.

‘‘I thought it was pretty badass’‘ You turned around. A tall raven haired guy looked at you with a grin ‘‘Sweet pea, pleased to meet you, and who may the badass princess be?’‘ You scoffed ‘‘It’s y/n’‘ ‘‘Well y/n I think you’re definitely something, especially for a northside princess’‘ He smirked and moved closer to your ear ‘‘You’re really hot when you’re angry babe’‘ He winked at you, you were oddly attracted to him and grinned ‘‘You have no idea babe’‘ He wrapped an arm around you ‘‘Feisty I like it’‘ You rolled your eyes with a grin, you liked Sweet pea. ‘‘Come on babygirl how about we get some ice for that hand’‘ You nodded ‘‘Let’s go’‘ You walked away with Sweet pea, he was just what you needed to get your mind off of Reggie and everything that had happened.

You saw Reggie looking at you and Sweet pea and you glared at him, still angry about everything. The two of you got to his motorcycle ‘‘Hop on princess’‘ You smirked and placed the helmet on top of your head. You held on tightly and drove away with him. You were angry at Reggie and what happened but you were glad you had Sweet pea to take your mind off of it. You laid your head against his back with a grin this was going to be an exciting night.

Summary: Reggie Mantle grew up protecting what he loved.

I miss you.

You received the text on the first day of school, the instant your baby pink ballet flats maneuvered within the halls of Riverdale High, which were marginally filled with mayhem from everyone’s first day jitters.

Well, not everyone. You, despite your extra pretty face, extra shiny curls, and extra preppy outfit, wore a heavy façade that drooped lower than the Maybelline Fit Me-concealed eye-bags that were situated below your unexplained, cheery eyes that tried to greet everyone with much positivity as possible. As everyone knew your perfect reputation, the happy-go-lucky cheerleader that everyone admired and loved since the day you entered high school. It was never tarnished, so you refused to let a silly break-up move it at all.

You took out your phone and shakily gazed down at the message. It was sent in clear, with no emoji’s or silly grammatical errors. Your nervous fingers moved for you, but your brain was being silly that day and it had no planned response for the text message.

A wave of students accidentally crossed and one of them partially collided against your hardly five feet tall physique, which was a thankful jolt that rattled you off from replying to the text message. You squeezed the iPhone tightly, bearing no mind of the glittery fake diamonds from the phone case bearing harsh indentions against your palm.

The moment you were able to fix your locker and lock it behind you, you immediately set off to find a seat in the gym—hoping that an early departure from the first day madness would create a false sense of comfort from your inevitable fate, which was meeting your ex-boyfriend again subsequently after a summer of trying to forget all about him.

Everyone had always said that you were perfect for Reginald Mantle.

You were a girl blessed with your father’s dominant sloped nose and your mother’s graceful and tiny, ballerina body. Being the only child meant being under the revolving gaze of your mother and father’s watchful eyes twenty-four/seven, and you grew up to be accordingly limpid; yet, at the same time pretentious for you were the heir of one of the wealthiest families in Riverdale.

Reggie was a boy meant for you even before you knew what he was supposed to be. He was a constant person in your life, a fixture caused by your parents and his parents’ meddling. Though, despite your unending play times together and a hired tutor that taught you and him up until you were in middle school, Reggie and you grew up in different paths, in different aspects.

You and Reggie were in the opposite sides of the spectrum. Nevertheless, you were inexplicably drawn to him. He was exactly the same as you, but as the same time, so, so different.

He was difficult to figure out. He had pushed children off swing sets and had hogged all the toy cars to himself as he disliked sharing. You hated the smirk on his face when he teased his inferiors, and still you loved him when he kissed you goodnight. He’d hold you in the softest way possible, muscled arms entrapped around you with touch as light as a feather, and similarly he’d used the same arms dangerously with heated intent at someone else.

You never got why people often told you that he was perfect for you. He was, in your point of view, a mixture of positives and negatives. He was your opposite.

The thing about opposites was that when a unity occurred, it would be a co-existent dependency that held itself with tension.

You loved him more than he loved himself. That was probably the reason why the balance wasn’t right and he pushed himself off, leaving you in the dust.

“Are you alright?” Surprisingly, Cheryl Blossom would be the first person to question you that today. The said Blossom stood above you, her red curls down the right side of her chest, a hand on her hip and a raised eyebrow. You tried to hide the flinch that came with Cheryl’s edged tone, but she assumingly noticed it since she took it herself to sit next to you on that noisy lunch table.

“Talk to me,” she demanded. “I don’t want anyone on my squad to be sadder than my supposed star quality. You cannot rain on my parade on this week’s performance.”

“I’m fine,” you muttered as you picked on your salad.

“[y/n], a stupid boy doesn’t have the right to state your mood status.” She hissed. “There are 7 billion people in the world. God knows how much boys will there be after your life post-Reggie Man—“

“Damn, Cheryl,” You stood up. “I said I’m fine!”

Your words were a little too loud, and laced with anger. The whole open-lawn cafeteria went into a full pregnant pause from your little burst and your eyes betrayed you as it went to a familiar face that you couldn’t just let go off. His smirking, never ceasing, hardly-caring face wavered slightly as he looked your way, as everyone had. He looked down once before pushing his left foot off benched on the seat and faced in the opposite direction, going back into a conversation with Chuck Clayton.

You couldn’t care less what that meant and you sped off from your table, grabbing your cellphone with you. Opening the text message up on your interface, your quivering fingers typed out a reply before hitting send.

“I thought you said I couldn’t see you again,” the tall and handsome boy chuckled as he sat coolly on the stools that they had in Pop’s. His tousled, brown waves would shine into a blondish side under the neon lights of Pop’s infamous signs, and his pretty blue eyes would turn your messy head into a complete haze of white noise. “I missed you,” Jackson voiced out, echoing what he had recently texted you that morning.

It was seven in the evening, and mostly everyone had this night tacked to watch the last screening due for the closing Midnight Drive-In. You had thought to go but you knew that it would simply be another place that would haunt you again with memories that happened in the arms of a familiar stranger.

“I couldn’t resist,” you whispered zealously, biting your lip, then striding towards him until both of your faces had no space with each other. He kissed back passionately, and you followed along in accord, ignoring the way your heart bleated in a monotonous fashion, like it was a routine you followed every morning. Fingers tracing down his rugged, jean jacket, you stopped as it went to a tracing on his arm. A tattoo of a dangerous serpent.

“Watch it,” he pushed himself off you and went to slip down his sleeves. “Any good ‘ole folk wouldn’t wanna see that snake on a young thing’s skin.”

“A young thing, huh?” You titled your head, letting him caress your cheek. It made you feel like being touched by an intruder. You held your tongue from stating that out loud. “I heard that your buddies are over at the drive-in tonight.”

“—yeah,” the handsome, rugged boy agreed, holding your hand like a whisper. “But you’re much better than any movie, let’s agree. Pretty and innocent [y/n][y/l/n].”

“If my father saw you with me,” you told him with a trace of a smile hinting on your lips while leading the boy down to a booth. “He would freak,” you ended with a pendulous but crude smirk, as the feeling of going behind your parents’ back often created a brilliant feeling of teenage rebellion.

However, the light that would go unperturbed that night beneath the luminescence of you with the boy from the Serpents would go back unlit as a sudden burst of unexpected customers walked in the empty Pop’s.

It was a famous group of blue and yellow hues, the king, the boy in between the boisterous and rowdy laughs, and you couldn’t help but shake as his eyes immediately turned toward the serpent and your contumacious self.

“[y/n]?” Reggie Mantle took it upon himself to breeze through the rows of booths with a face of disbelief, his voice rising. And as you expected, anger rising as his comical face slowly slipped to stone cold when his eyes landed on the lingering fingers of the serpent teenager on your arm. “Who the hell is he?”

“Fuck off, Reggie,” you glared, bringing yourself to whisper to your current partner beside you, “Ignore him.” You tried your best to act a casual as possible, though the sudden racing of your heart that went with the way your ex-boyfriend stared at you in a mix of hardening confusion and indignation.

The other football players were left in a fit of widening eyes as Reggie, in impulsion, went and grabbed your arm in fury, “I’m taking you home.”

And it was a laughable scene, provided that you have been in witness in a circumstance like this before; on the contrary, you were always behind him before, supporting him like a good girlfriend. Until now.

Reggie showed the chaos within him through the bones between his knuckles—several scars made proof of that. Now, you were his enemy, the one that caused the fire beneath his eyes. The booths made a guarded ring.

“What the hell, man—“ The serpent boy scoffed before Reggie snapped and gripped and landed a good punch with no regret on the other boy’s face. That started a full-blown fight, which lead pandemonium where Moose, Chuck, and several others hurriedly tried to pull the Asian off the other boy. Reggie’s blows were pernicious, and over the yells of the football team trying to stop the fight, the only thing you could do was watch everything in horror.

“—fighting on public property, what on earth caused you to do that?!” And Mrs. Mantle let out a startled shriek and tried to shield her son as Mr. Mantle gave a tumultuous slap on Reggie’s already bruising face. You gripped your jacket, feeling the cotton and thinking of it as abrasive as hooves, guilt going off you in waves as the only thing you could do was watch the aftermath unfold in the Mantle estate, where you had been protectively ushered off to with your parents and Sheriff Keller due to Pop’s emergency dial.

“This is getting out of hand,” Reggie’s father continued, a harsher than stern look on his purple face. Yanking back his hand, his gaze shot to you, which you couldn’t bear to hold longer than a second. “This boy has been nothing but trouble this year—I swear, this was the last straw, Reginald. I need to ship him to board—“

“It was my fault,” you found your voice, hurried and not gentle at all—willing to cross out the guilt killing your tightening chest. Your parents’ tension-heavy faces whipped their heads to you, their protected daughter that could hardly do no wrong in this world. “I came there with Jackson—“

“No, I fought him, she had nothing to do with th—“ Reggie hastily claimed, harsh and scarily void of emotion. He was seemingly too callous from responding to his father—and you had realized that this could have been happening more so than none and that this boy could have grown up this way, and while your heart was pouring from hearing him protect you, you knew that it was your call to turn things around.

“No,” you squeaked, hearing yourself panic. “I guess I was being rebellious, I met up with Jackson, and – and- “ You eyed your father. “He was with me and Reggie saw me and Jackson did something and he got provoked,” you finished, lying. You looked at Reggie, and he gazed at you, turmoil and hurt swirling in his eyes.

That led to a tension-filled silence. You closed your eyes, and could hear the sounds of Reggie’s father’s footsteps going off to a direction. Somewhere that’s not here, of course.

“Sorry, that shouldn’t have happened,” he would tell you days later, smirk latched to his lips like a boy to a candy bar. He’d say it would no feeling, no emotion, as if he wasn’t someone that was in what happened and he was merely a person who’d heard of what happened.

The memory of his father slapping him because of you would haunt you forever, and your eyes would wander to his cheek not due to any romantic purpose, but the ache of wondering how much it hurt to protect you, a person he shouldn’t even be caring for anymore.

“I’m sorry,” you ignored his first statement, and spat out what you needed to say. The hallways were empty. “I was being petty. I wanted to—“ The words were dignified to be stated out in the open. “I wanted to forget about you.”

His silence mocked you. The 6’3 handsome and usually word-y jock—the boy you really, just really, really loved, gazed at you as if your turbulence, though with a slip of concern on his façade. You continued, lips burning with words you only imagined you would say in a dream, “You hurt me, Reggie. I hated you for making me spend a summer without you. So, yeah. I did something. I slept with that douchebag, that serpent, just to forget about you. So, fuck you.”

The response was instant. An utter storm shadowed over his face. “Fuck me? Fuck me? Are you fucking kidding me?” His fingers wrapped tightly around his coifed hair, eyes blazing with chasms of void and anger. “The only thing I ever did was goddamn protect you! If you hadn’t been so stupid, you wouldn’t be in this mess. I shouldn’t have protected you from the start if it was going to lead this way.”

“Protected me from the start?” You questioned, beckoned with hatred.

“Yes! I’ve always been protecting you. I love you, [y/n]. So much. The reason I ended things is because you were going to end up broadcasted on this shitty book and—“ Reggie sighed and you looked at him confusingly. He stepped forward, “Look, last year I was in hell. My dad caught me doing some stupid shit and he was going to blame it on you. I needed to protect you, it was instinct. I had to break up with you because I couldn’t bear the guilt that—“

This time, it was your turn to slap him. Reggie snapped his head back at you, shocked.

“You stupid jerk,” your body shook from relief and at the same time, numbness. “You couldn’t have at least told me about that? I literally cried for a week because I thought I wasn’t good enough for you, the great Reggie freaking Mantle.”

Reggie stared at what only could have been eons, before shaking his head and returning a soft gaze that was only for you. “I’m sorry.”

You could shake your head as he placed out his warm hand next to yours, swirling and wrapping it around yours in the gentlest way possible.

It was an epiphany, when you looked at him and you had finally seen a glimpse of an extent that he would do for you. The balance was off and you had thought of it in the wrong way.

He loved you more than he loved himself.

omg i’m so sorry. whenever i write i’d always get so carried away with excessive details and annoying character musings!!! please tell me what you think! feel free to reblog or like or message me! always open to hear what you guys think huehue. :)

“Jesus, Reggie,” you muttered as you opened your door to find a battered and bruised Reggie.  "What happened?“

"Can I come in?” he begged, avoiding your question.  He was cradling his left wrist, and blood was dripping from his lip and nose.  You pursed your lips but opened your door wider.

“Yeah, of course,” you responded, lightly placing your hand on his shoulder.  You began to guide him towards your bathroom.  "We have to be quiet though,“ you told him, "because my parents are asleep upstairs.”  Reggie silently nodded.  You opened the door to the bathroom and immediately shuffled through the drawers, trying to find some gauze and disinfectant.  After a couple of minutes of searching, you found all of the supplies you needed.  You gestured for Reggie to sit down on the closed toilet.  Pouring some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball, you sent a sympathetic smile towards the beaten boy.

“This may hurt,” you warned him right before you placed the cotton again the cuts on his face.  He winced as it made contact with the wound, but he bit his lip to prevent himself from making any noise.  The two of you sat in silence for ten minutes, Reggie silently watching you as you cleaned his wounds.  As you finished wrapping gauze around his wrist, he spoke up.

“I’m sorry,” he apologized.  You looked up with a puzzled expression.  "I shouldn’t be troubling you with this.“

"Reggie, if you’re hurt I want you to come here,” you comforted him.  "You’re not bothering me.“

"I just… this was my fault, and I shouldn’t have dragged you into anything.”

“Your fault?” you questioned, leaning back a bit.  "How is it your fault?“

"I got into a fight,” he confessed.  He avoided eye contact with you.

“Jesus, Reggie,” you groaned.  You stood up and began to put away the medical supplies.  "Why would you get yourself into that?“

"Because I had to,” Reggie replied.  "They were saying shit that they shouldn’t have.“

"Oh like what?” you snapped.  "You don’t deserve captain of the football team?  That you don’t get as much action as some of the others?  Honestly, Reggie, if you’re gonna let that shit get under your skin so easily, then don’t bother coming over here afterwards. I’m not here to heal your ego.“  Reggie, stunned into silence, didn’t respond to you.  He sighed and stood up, signaling that he was ready to leave.  You exhaled sharply as you lead him to your door.  When you arrived, you opened it and held it, watching as Reggie exited your house.  Before he stepped off your porch, he turned around to face you.

"They were talking about you,” he explained.  "They were talking about how you have a big ass and that they would totally bang you, and then they started talking about how many points you would be worth in the book.“  Your eyes widened, and you said nothing.  Reggie continued, "I snapped in less than five minutes.  I couldn’t take hearing people talk about you that way.”  Your face softened as you stepped onto your porch, inching closer to Reggie.

“Oh, Reggie,” you sighed, placing a hand on his bruised face.  Gently, you swiped your thumb across the cut on his lip.  He inhaled deeply and grabbed both of your wrists.

“(Y/N),” he whispered.  Your heart rate increased as Reggie’s face inched closer to yours.

“Why didn’t you tell me that before?” you asked, trying to make your voice sound steady.  "If I had known-“

"I didn’t want you to know,” he muttered.  "I guess… I guess I was trying to protect you.“  You began to withdraw your hand from his face, but Reggie’s arm snapped up and placed your hand back against his cheek.  Before you could reply, he crashed his lips against yours.  Kissing back, you raised your other hand and cupped the other side of his face.  The two of you pulled apart, and you rested your forehead against Reggie’s.  Neither of you said anything, but smiles graced both of your faces.

"I should get home,” Reggie mumbled after a minute.  You nodded, taking a step back.  He held onto your hand.

“Yeah, I should probably go inside,” you said.  He nodded and slowly released your hand.  You took a few steps backwards towards your door, refusing to remove your gaze from Reggie.

“Goodnight, (Y/N),” he waved, and began his trek home.  You smiled wistfully and waved, even though you knew he couldn’t see you.

“Goodnight, Reggie,” you muttered, a smile etched onto your face.  You dreamily sighed as you softly shut your door, fingers hovering over where Reggie’s lips were just moments ago.

Reggie Mantle

(Okay, well I meant to write headcanons but then it turned into this. Like I said in my previous post. It seems I can’t write anything less than a thousand words. This has been in my head for a while and I intended to write it as a full fic, but decided on writing it like this instead?  I’ve been having serious Reggie Mantle feels lately, so here you go.This is also pretty much my Isaac Lahey fic, but Reggie. I’ve probably misspelled a bit, but it’s 3 am so I’ll edit it later. Feedback would be greatly appreciated and whoever reads this, I hope you enjoy.)

Reggie falls for the new girl

-The first time he sees you, he’s talking to someone from the team in the hallway.

-The second his eyes land on you; he trails off on what he was saying.

- “Reggie, bro you okay?”

- “Yeah who’s that?” he says pointing in your direction.

- “Oh, that’s Y/N. She just started here today.”

- “Y/N.” he repeats to himself.

 - “Yeah, she’s pretty cool. I met her this morning.”

-Even though his teammate is still talking, Reggie barely hears any it because he’s having a hard time not focusing on you.

-Reggie hates 5th period, so he always shows up late.

-15 minutes’ pass before he decides he’s going to head to class now.

-That’s when he sees you struggling trying to carry a few books while you look over your class schedule.

-You’re late for your class because you have no idea where it’s located.

- “Hey.” you hear someone say behind you. When you turn around you’re greeted by a tall boy with a very nice smile.

- “Hey.” you say.

- “Here let me help you with that, Your Y/N, right? I’m Reggie.” he says as he grabs the books out of your hand.

- “Thank you. Yes, I’m new here. Which is why I’m struggling trying to find my next class.” You say looking over your schedule again.

- “I might be able to help with that.”

Reggie Mantle x Reader: Encounters

Request:

I absolutely love your writing!!! Would you make a Reggie x reader imagine, where the reader is a River Vixen and the Vixens are practising outside when the reader gets a bodycheck from one of the jocks because he full on goes for the ball… and then Reggie gets worried and helps her to the nurse and stuff with a lot of fluff? I’m sorry if it’s a bit vague…

A/N: Okay I changed it a bit, but not too much because I wanted to do justice for your request. Also I have 3 more to catch up now, so go ahead and send more requests imagines you want me to do! I hope you like this one. Requests open now.

Words: 1811

Summary: Reader is a River Vixen and her first encounter with Reggie is at Cheryl’s party and second is when she get knocked out by a football and he takes her to the doctor

Spoilers: N/A

Warnings: I think there may be a curse word in there.

Living in Riverdale, that’s a tale to tell. Life in a small town, one would think that it would be like in the movies and TV shows. The perfect quiet place with the perfect people.

It wasn’t, at least not anymore. It was quiet but the whispers made their way around. It was quiet because it hid so many secrets and as for the people we were far from perfect.

Although its imperfections you loved the place even though you’d never actually confess it out loud.

Life was simple for you, you were a River Vixen in Cheryl’s cheerleading squad, you were single, and your parents well they tried their best to be updated on your life.

After the memorial pep rally for Jason you made your way to Cheryl’s after party. You didn’t want to, but Cheryl was your friend and she needed you now more than ever. You may have been viewed as popular because you were a vixen, but you weren’t as stuck up as plenty of the other girls.

You made your way next to Betty and Veronica hopefully to relax with them and ignore the whole scene. Suddenly Cheryl decided everyone should play seven minutes in heaven.

You weren’t fond of these games especially because Cheryl always tried to play some sort of angle, and she did.

“Okay, your turn (Y/N)” Cheryl gave you a smirk after Chuck and some girl walked out of the closet.

“Fine” you mumbled as you spinned the bottle as it landed on the one the only Reggie Mantle.

You sat there frozen until Cheryl grabbed your hand and the guys pushed Reggie in the closet with you and closed the door.

This encounter with Reggie made you a bit shy, you seen him before of course. He is the Captain of the football team, but this encounter it just felt different. and from the looks of it maybe this encounter would be different for him too.

“Uh, Hi” you spoke to Reggie who was staring at you as you placed a bit of your hair behind your ear.

“We don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to” The tall boy confessed.

“What?” you questioned him, since you heard all the stories about Reggie Mantle and secretly you had a thing for the football player “I mean, I’m surprised is all.”

“Yeah I get it, you’ve heard the rumors, who hasn’t” Reggie spat even though at that moment he wanted to kiss you. Ever since 8th grade he had a thing for you, but rumors spread and he’d never thought he could get a girl like you.

“I’m sorry, no I- uh” you felt bad, you’d never seen this side of Reggie before. He looked vulnerable and that intrigued you even more.

It took every ounce of courage in your body to do what you did next.

You stepped closer to the handsome figure standing in front of you, stood on your tippy toes and placed a kiss on his lips.

Reggie a bit shocked at first, but placed his hands around your head and leaned in closer for the kiss. It was passionate, and a bit sloppy at the end.

As you pulled apart you both fixed yourselves up and kept looking into each other’s eyes.

Cheryl announced the time and opened the door and grabbed you by the hand.

“Um, I’ll see you around” was the only thing you could get out before Cheryl pulled you out.

Then her plan was back on track.

She made Veronica go in with Archie knowing it would bug Betty.

You felt bad for her so you reached your hand to hers.

“Hey Bets, I’m sorry about Cheryl she can be difficult, but you know how she is” you whispered to the blonde.

“It’s fine” Betty stated with a sad smile.

“Congrats on making the squad” you said as you were interrupted by Cheryl.

“TIMES UP LOSERS!” the red head spoke as she opened the closet revealing Archie and Veronica.

It was too late though, Betty disappeared.

That was your call to leave the party as you gave a disappointed look at Cheryl and you left the party.

__

You wanted to find Reggie and talk about the kiss, you had feelings for him and now they were stronger than ever since the weekend. You hadn’t seen him since the party and were hoping he would return those feelings back. Hoping that maybe the last encounter was a good chance to start something with Reggie.

You were at River Vixens practice the air a bit heavy between Ronnie and Betty, but you tried to ignore it because it wasn’t your business and Cheryl had been bitchier about the routine.

“Hurry up idiots, we have to get these move down for the homecoming game” Cheryl shouted “It’s bad enough we have to practice in the field because they are fixing up the gym, just get into position girls.”

Since the party Betty had been ignoring Veronica and she wasn’t doing the routines well and Cheryl made her watch. She was enjoying her vengeance against Betty even though she had never done anything to her (only thing Betty did was be related to Polly; the girl Jason was in love with).

“Okay Betty I can’t have you messing this up, right now so you keep watch and maybe catch on” Cheryl spoke with a devilish smirk “Okay (Y/N) you’re one of my best for pyramids so you are going to at the top, okay” and you nodded as you made your way to the cheerleaders already beginning to form the pyramid.

As you made your way, your eye caught Reggie in practice and he caught your eye too, and you smiled at each other not realizing you hadn’t been paying attention until Cheryl called your name and you made your way to the top.

As you finally reached the top of the pyramid you made your hands into a V about to jump down when suddenly you lost balance as a football hit your head and you crashed down.

All you heard were gasps and you couldn’t keep your eyes open for long as all the girls surrounded you.

Although you were able to catch a glimpse of Reggie running faster than you’ve ever seen him run.

“Shit (Y/N)” he spoke as he kneeled down to you and rested his hand under you head and you tried to make an effort in getting up.

“No don’t, when you fall you’re not supposed to get up until you feel better” Reggie proclaimed as your eyes were closed and you couldn’t help but smile at his remark.

“Well I’m starting to feel better now” you retorted as you bit your lip and caressed his cheek.

“I’ll take her to the nurse” Reggie told the girls as he picked you up and you rested your head on his chest.

“But the nurse is close-” you heard Betty say as Reggie was already walking away with you.

“You know she’s not wrong” you told Reggie as you wrapped your arms around his neck.

“About?” the dark hair heartthrob asked.

“The nurse, it’s after school” you answered.

“I know, I’m taking you to my uncle’s clinic, you need to get checked out that was a heavy fall” Reggie informed you as he rubbed his thumb on your back which made the butterflies in your stomach go nuclear.

“That’s a bit far to walk don’t you think?” you heart was beating a bit quicker, your eyes still closed because of the impact of the grass, not knowing where you were heading but you trusted him.

“I have a truck you know, but if I didn’t I’d still walk” he noted reaching to what you guessed was door and placed you gently to the passenger’s seat as he made his way to the driver’s side.

You opened your eyes for a bit and saw it was and old model truck and the front seat was all connected and there was only a bit of space in the back which was only enough for his gym stuff and you laid yourself down and placed your head on his lap and he drove away from the school.

“I thought you had a jeep” you decided to make conversation.

“I just fixed up this truck, I want to see how good it runs”

“So we could stay stuck somewhere and you just might have to carry me to the doctor” you sarcastically answered.

“You have no faith in me” he pretended to be hurt as he turned.

“I trust you, anyways, do you listen to music or-” he cut you off turning up the radio.

You kept conversation until you arrived to the clinic and he insisted on carrying you still and made his way inside.

“Tell my uncle I’m here, any rooms open?” he demanded to the receptionist.

“Room three” she answered as Reggie opened the door that separated the patients and the workers as he made his way to room three and placed you on the examination bed.

“Well look who takes charge” you mocked as he took a chair on your left side

“I can take charge”

“Really? Last I remember Mantle I kissed you” you revealed as you turned your way to look at his reaction, but were interrupted by what you guessed was his uncle.

“What happened Reggie? Oh” the man with a white coat was a bit confused “I thought you got hurt boy, what seems to be the problem?”

“Oh I’m fine, (Y/N) took a football to the head at the top of the cheerleading pyramid and fell” Reggie stood up to shake his hand.

“Okay” the man made his way to you flashing a small flashlight in your eyes “So I’m checking for a concussion and maybe a sprain”

“Yes” Reggie spoke for you again.

“How bad was the fall?” The doctor asked placing his hands on your ankles to see if you had a sprain.

“I’m not dead, but I can finally open my eyes” you sassed and reacted to him putting pressure on your left ankle.

“You finally got one with a sense of humor didn’t you Reg?” his uncle encouraged as Reggie blushed a bit.

“I’m trying” he claimed and this time you blushed “So is anything too bad?” he asked making his way back next to you placing his hand on your head stroking your hair.

“Oh no, you got pretty lucky here, just a bit more rest on your head and you have a small sprain on your left ankle some medicine and you’re all good” the man reported to you as he grabbed some bandages and placed it tightly around your left ankle.

“Thank you sir” you told the doctor as he left the room.

You sat up the bed and tried to get up your legs still a bit weak and Reggie caught you, his hands on your waist.

One of the best encounters yet you thought.

“You’re enjoying this aren’t you?” you asked as you placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Oh plenty” Reggie said with a smug look on his face as he closed the proximity of your faces and sealed it with a kiss.
