For years hats have been a symbol of personal taste, class, and elegance.  From the top hats in the early 1900s, the hamburgs and driver’s hats of the 30s and 40s, to the snap-backs recirculating back into everyday style in modern times, they have defined social status, allegiance to sports teams, and even generations.  Through my moderate utilization of “older fashioned” hats, I have observed some considerably favorable results.  Of course you will probably get jeered by some meatheaded American Eagle wearing pricks calling it a “grandpa hat,” but in my opinion  the fact that it describes ME as a person while also complimenting my wardrobe, it trumps the hate any day of the week.  Also on the bright side; a “newsboy” hat will ALWAYS be a great conversation starter and talking point.
