So Lauren said yesterday in the Facebook livestream that Luke and Lorelai’s wedding date was supposed to be a callback to something in the original series, but today Scott said he had no idea what it was. Ignoring for a moment the fact that their planned wedding was supposed to take place on Sunday (Nov. 6th) and it’s confusing why then the sign reads November 5th…I think I may have found the connection?
In ‘Red Light on the Wedding Night’ (2x03), when tasting wedding cakes at Weston’s for her and Max’s wedding, Lorelai and Fran have this exchange: Fran: “After all, what’s more important then your wedding day?” Lorelai: “Well, it ain’t Guy Fawkes day.” Guy Fawkes day is November 5th. I know this is kind of a reach (and a bit dumb), but it’s all I’ve been able to find so far…thoughts?
After watching Gilmore Girls for like the 50th time, I’m really irritated with the whole max/Lorelei situation. They had BARELY been together when max proposed, and had only been back together like a month. And yet NO ONE stopped for a minute and was like really? Already? You guys don’t want to think about that for while? He hadn’t even seen her closet, or stayed over, etc by the time they were already engaged. Like DUH THEY DIDNT WORK OUT THEY DIDNT EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER THAT WELL
