Alright then. In this masterpost, I tried to offer the most complete selection of Jason appearances possible, which, btw, means a lot of things where his importance isn’t exactly… major. I left out one panel appearances tho, because those are really for when you’re waaaay past the point of no return. But, if anyone’s interested.. I have several of them. I’m also not passing any judgement. No matter how bad the story, I tried to include it.

Any broken links, any continuation doubts, just want to talk about the comics, send me a message!

”There is too much talk about blame between us, Jason. There always has been. We have to let it go. We have both done things we regret.
But the one thing I never apologize for– is taking a chance on you.”
- Red Hood and the Outlaws #18

anonymous asked:

hi do you have any comic recs for jason todd? i really wanna start reading about him but i don't wanna pick up an ooc comic :/

His current Rebirth title Red Hood and the Outlaws is good. It’s probably the best jumping on point for him as a new reader as well.

I’d avoid the new 52 entirely.

Post-Crisis:

His Robin run is in Detective comics #568-#582 and  Batman #408-#426 and is honestly the best place to start to understand who he really was as Robin because DC’s victim-blaming is pretty gross. He also had an adorable arc with Dick’s Titans during issues #18–#31

Then there’s Batman: Under the Red Hood and perhaps Lost Days (there’s some weird stuff in the second though with Talia). Outsiders #44-#46 is a short little arc showing some Post-Under the Red Hood Jason that doesn’t stray into Winick’s weird crap too much.

Countdown to Final Crisis is a bit more all over the place but it’s fun and it’s one of the few late Post-Crisis books that doesn’t treat Jason like utter crap.

Where to start reading Blackfire?

  • Tales of the Teen Titans #4

  • New Teen Titans Annual #6
  • Final Night Preview

In the nu52 she appeaars in Red Hood and the Outlaws #11-13

two things, one this is just what I see when ever comics want to use GUNS! and MURDER! to show how grown up and intense they are, its a 10 year old’s idea of “bad-ass”

and second, I had this thought the other day, Jason died when he was 15, stayed dead 6 months, was in a coma and on the street a year, in training with Talia a year, he should be according to his own time line, 17 going on 18, so thats worth thinking about but more fun, I’d like it if DC’s next reboot had Jason come back from the dead, younger than Tim, I mean if Tim is 17 and Jason died at 15, the older Robin could be physically younger (and smaller) I think that’d be fun

Red - Chapter 18 - Cruel Disguise

What if Robin Hood hadn’t been able to save his wife when she caught a deadly disease while carrying his child? What if the Evil Queen had summoned him instead of the Huntsman to hunt down Snow White?

I’m so sorry for taking so long to update! My life is absolutely crazy right now.

A very special thank you to @thisisamadhouse and @onhowtobecrazy who read this through for me and told me it was not awful. Thank you darlings! This is not beta-ed, so sorry in advance.

Regina did not know what had woken her.

She was used to waking up suddenly, gasping for air, soaked in sweat with her heart beating erratically, and sometimes even screaming out, due to the more than usual nightmares that haunted her.

But this time, her eyes did not snap open and her senses did not hit her all at once.

One moment Regina was enwrapped in peaceful slumber, buzzing energy travelled about her body, and her heart, for once, was at ease. She moved a little, and slowly became more and more aware of the fact that what she was laying upon was not her mattress. Her mattress did not breathe, or snore

Regina took a deep breath – taking in the scent of pinewood and sweat that was strangely familiar – and eased herself more into the warm, delicious embrace of whatever was holding her. She hummed in agreement to the arm that held her a little tighter around the waist when she moved. It felt quite good, she felt well rested and safe, which was something she had not felt for a very long time.

The vibrant energy made her want to sleep the morning away there, even though she was now conscious that she was on top of somebody and that both of them were stark naked.

anonymous asked:

in a previous meta of yours, you talked about how jason and bruce could have reconciled, and while RHatO was a mess, issue #18 displayed some of what you were talking about i.e jason taking a near fatal 'hit' (though not really *for* bruce) and bruce and jason both being emotionally vulnerable, neither in their vigilante personas (though not much conversation). do you think #18 was an okay representation of a reconciliation between the two?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no, because it was good but not great, and because of what happened immediately after in Batman and Red Hood #20. Beyond that, New52 Jason is too different from Pre52 for that issue to have worked for me.

That being said, the issue did have some great moments. Most striking to me was when Bruce told Jason that, “the one thing I never apologize for is taking a chance on you.” For all that this issue is about living in the past and destroying the past, it’s the past that led these two to this moment, and Bruce is grateful for every one, even if he’s made some mistakes along the way.

Angry review of Batman and Red Hood #20 under the cut.

I have never seen so many hive minded people right now in the Jason Todd tags right now. Full of hate.

People want Jason to be:
1. Evil again (um…)
2. Want Lost Days to be canonical again (no)
3. Wants Jason to beat Tim with a crowbar again. (Character development, where?)
4. Wants Jason to hate Bruce for not killing the Joker (beat that dead horse)
5. Be like the Punisher( nothing alike )
6. Dead again (wow, original much)
7. Written by another writer (why?)
8. Be a solo act (look another dead horse)
9. Wants Jason to tell Damian he slept with Talia (uh….)
10. Have his white stripe back in his hair (no)
11. Go back to Lost Days personality (as in angry, depressed )
12. Don’t want him to get better mentally (sigh)
* what people will do
13. People will bring up issue 1 of RHATO (2011) and still call everything before that trash without even reading beyond issue 6.
14. The anti people will send anon hate to the pro people.
15. anti people will send death threats the writer
16. Anti people will complain, without even buying an issue.
17. If Lobdell wasn’t the writer, they’d still call the work trash because Jason isn’t solo.
18. I will offend someone on this subject, because I don’t agree with you.
19. Don’t be # 14. 20. Don’t be #15.

(a list of comics I personally liked for friends who don’t really feel like reading a lot of Nu52 crap & I need a linkable place to put it, ignore this)

OK* Nu52 Red Hood/Jason Todd issues:

At last, Nocturna makes her presence in The New 52 known! And Batwoman must face her past when her former girlfriend from West Point comes to town!

That is a gorgeous cover. I really don’t like the idea of a “bombshell” cover on this book. Moving on!

Welcome to Ladies’ Night, where Harley gets her butt kicked by Big Bertha Bensonhurts at the roller derby, starts a massive bar fight and teams up with Poison Ivy to find out who hired all those pesky assassins!

Art by ROBSON ROCHA and JONATHAN GLAPION
Cover by JORGE MOLINA
On sale JUNE 11 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
It’s time to settle some scores! Amanda Waller may have kept Kurt Lance alive, but she also kept him hidden from Black Canary. Now it’s on: Birds of Prey vs. the Suicide Squad!

What you didn’t believe me about Harley? Interestingly while Canary has a “bombshell” statue, there is no bombshell variant. Seems like a missed opportunity especially given Harley’s guest appearance in her new 52 costume. I can’t help but think just a little of the wonderful Birds of Prey/Secret Six cross over that Gail Simone wrote. Sniff.

WORLDS’ FINEST #24
Written by PAUL LEVITZ
Art by R.B. SILVA and JOE WEEMS
Cover by BARRY KITSON
On sale JUNE 11 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
Get ready for action as Power Girl and Huntress begin their journey back to Earth 2! Plus, Desaad returns!

I’ve kinda lost patience with this book but it nice to Barry Kitson on a cover.

“Red Daughter of Krypton” rages though this issue! Supergirl’s Red Lantern powers – and allies – are about to be tested as a Worldkiller1 arrives from Kara’s past to destroy her!

I can’t remember, was Supergirl as Black Lantern in Blackest Night? Also why does she wear a mask. Also just, why?

CATWOMAN #32

The Race of Outlaws takes a major turn as we find out Catwoman has entered the race as a double agent! But who is she working for? And how will it affect her efforts for her favorite team – herself!

I’m not quite sure what happens with this book given the peek we had in Batman Eternal of a future Catwoman. I’m not quite sure what happens with this book given the peek we had in Batman Eternal of a future Catwoman who I have to say interested me much more.

TRINITY OF SIN: PANDORA #12

Hard to believe this book is coming up on a year old.

And that’s it! So let me ask you - what’s your favorite of these titles? What title is the one most in need of an overhaul?
