recycled plots

Fun Miraculous AU prompt

Every time Ladybug purifies an akuma, she absorbs the dark energy from it. Hawkmoth turns negative emotions into dark energy, and when she de-evilizes it, it doesn’t go away, it just gets stored back into her as negative emotions. After a while, it just piles up more and more, so much until she feels like she’s going crazy absorbing other people’s past grief, anger, fear… but of course she doesn’t tell anyone. Because who else can purify the akumas? It’s her duty, she’s the only one who can.

Well, not really. Turns out there’s only one person who has enough positive energy (enough love) for her that he can purify her and turn those emotions back into destructive power. And that is the source of his Cataclysm.

hi there!! can you please please please talk about the stuff on stiles' wall in your "Sometimes I’m just glad you’re here, and no longer out there." drawing? I love everything so much and I'm dying to know the thoughts behind it all. :D

Ooooh my loooord, you’re the anon i’ve been waiting for. I mean, I actually kept screenshots of the wall before I blurred the background just for this.

OK! So, this first one is pretty self explanatory.  Peter Hale, on the loose yet again. Doing his Peter things, probably killed spooked someone. See here my slight shade thrown at TW for repetitive plot devices, recycled ‘bad guy plans’, and people who keep dying but wait they’re not dead but wait they’re dead again, no wait–    [I’m not really complaining much about Peter though, I think he’s terriblewhydoIlikehim? fun.]

Over here we have the white board. Perfect for people who can’t remember when things are due, or when the Alpha Symposium is, and also a great place for Scott to leave super important notes. [’Don’t use the green pen,’ it says, in green pen.]

Then we add some other things, la la la.
• Peter Hale, spotted creeping into a sports bar before a fight broke out.
• A page from an old Bestiary depicting a Ōmukade, a giant centipede creature that eats humans and lives in the mountains of Japan.

•Security footage of a large beasty. [Note clearly labeling it NOT Peter]

• A weird picture of someone who looks a lot like Derek but isn’t, and Stiles finds that funny.

Annd some more stuff:
•Police records from an ‘animal’ attack in someone’s back yard. A man was killed, but the wife wasn’t attacked.

• More pages from the Bestiary [Racoon Dog and a Chamrosh *Not local ]

• A class picture from middle school.

• An old polaroid picture of a vampire. [And another small shot of the same vampire]

• A picture of Scott being cute.

• A picture of Derek in his wolf form lurking by the lake, and being cute.

Aaaand that’s about it, other than the movie poster. It’s not all connected, really. Stiles keeps most of the connections in his head, and unfortunately only has red yarn in the house and is stuck using it even though it brings back unpleasant memories. [Derek will buy him some blue yarn, I promise.] :)

As someone who had no interest in marrying units in Fates, I’ve come to appreciate the deep realms, in a way. With marriage separated from the main story, I can go the entire game without marrying units, and not feel like I’m missing out on anything. Also, there was no way to bring back marriage that felt completely natural, without recycling the plot of Awakening, so I think, no matter how you might feel about it, may have been one of the best ways to handle marriage returning.

Ashanti was bopping along through the hallways, not paying attention ( or even consciously recognizing ) their surroundings, entirely too high from the weed and pills they’d consumed to get through the day. “gotta shake a lil’ something throwin’ that thing from left, right, side to side,” they sang as they two-stepped towards the kitchen, sliding into the doorway. “slide with ya boy to the bar, slide with ya boy to the car -” a momentary pause when their eyes landed on someone else in the kitchen. “ ‘ cause once we get goin’ we’re rollin’, we’ll cha cha til the morning,” ashanti continued as if there was no one with them, sliding towards the refrigerator. “want some pizza?”

fic idea: Dan is a witch whose skill is protective sigils and he gets kicked out of his apartment (care of no money because “people forget protective sigils when mace and guns are faster”) and on his way to wherever on the subway he meet Suzy who can tell he’s got powers because she’s in tune with what she calls Things and that means she can catch glimpses of the future, if she asks the right questions. and while predicting the future pays the bills, sure, she has more fun finding other witches and invites him to crash with her coven and he accepts because he’s got nothing to lose! she takes him to the top level of a shitty apartment building and everything smells faintly of patchouli and sandalwood and something else he can’t place.

Suzy introduces him to Holly, who can speak with birds and knows a lot of secrets. Barry, who writes spells by finding powerful words in books and magazines and blogs and wherever and uses incoherent strings of those powerful words to make things happen. brian and Ross who both only know how to cast curses and are too damn creative for their own good. and then…arin. arin, who grows plants in his apartment and sells dried herbs and makes potions and concoctions to help people who come to him. he makes a special tea for a little boy that has night terrors, to keep the bad dreams away. he has a salve that he makes just for an old woman whose arthritis is immensely painful. he makes soaks that help girls and boys forget shitty exes and to help them find lovers who will care deeply and gently for them. and Dan crashes with arin because he has a spare room and their coven doesn’t turn away lost or wandering witches.

and slowly yet surely Dan falls in love with arin the alchemist, who cares about others so much and always puts others first, even at the cost of always putting himself last. Dan wants so much to show arin that he can be put first sometimes too, that others can and do care about him as much as he cares about others. that he’s worthy of love and adoration just by being himself, all magic aside.

Because I will never not enjoy speculating…

It would strike me as strange if the series ends without seeing Michael again.

Lucifer’s explanation of “he’s singing show tunes and touching himself” and God saying he wasn’t in any shape to fight – it kinda makes me think that they’re holding Michael in their back pocket for the end of the show or something. It also seems odd to leave him in the corner while Lucifer is back on the board.

Lucifer and Michael were the original mirrors for Sam and Dean. The big, big difference between them is that when Sam was “cast out” by their father, Dean went after him.

Plus they’ve already shown us how easy it was for Lucifer to hop from vessel to vessel, so even if they can’t get Adam Milligan or young John back, there’s not really an excuse. We could easily say, “well, that story has already been told” or “let’s stop recycling old plots,” but… there’s definitely more that could be said. Chuck and Amara got closure. Lucifer and Michael got tossed into jail.

What I’m really, really torn on is whether or not I wanna see Michael!Dean.

On one hand, seeing Jensen actually play another character (which pretty much everyone else has had a chance to do) would be fucking wonderful. Especially if Lucifer wasn’t exaggerating and we do get to see Unbalanced!Michael!Dean.

On the other hand, between Sam, Dean, and Cas, Dean is the only one who has never said “yes” to an archangel, which kinda paints him as the poster child for free will.

And on the other other hand, Dean is supposed to be the “firewall between light and darkness,” and a nice dose of angel grace would balance out the whole turning into a demon thing.

But… yeah. I’d like a satisfying end to Lucifer and Michael’s story, not a throwaway line that Michael is in the cage masturbating until the end of time

Grey hummed quietly to himself while spray painting the wall with complex designs. It was something he did everywhere he visited, leaving some sort of design in each city he travelled to at least once. He tensed up once hearing someone walk over and lowered the can from the wall in a quick movement, wondering if he had time to run, before focusing on them through the dark of the alleyway with a raised brow, realizing that they probably already saw him, so there wasn’t really a point. “Well, you gonna just stand there or join in, huh?” he asked with a smirk.

Fairly Oddparents basically ran out of ideas so they gave Timmy a new neighbor that’s a girl and now he has to share his fairies with her because apparently they don’t have enough and they are basically recycling their old plots but with her now it’s very confusing….???

based off this. open to: female/non-binary.

She didn’t know why she kept doing it. She didn’t know why she had decided to leave her apartment in the middle of the night to be the other’s savior again despite the fact that they only acknowledged her existence when drowning in alcohol and in need of someone to pick them up and bring them back home. Tyler always seemed to do it reluctantly; however, there was something that kept her from refusing every time the other called, asking for a ride. She had never said no to them. She would never say no to them, and both of them knew it. The other person was clearly taking advantage of it, but the worst part was that Tyler let it happen. Once inside the bar the other had told her they were in, it took her only a few seconds to lay eyes on them. With a heavy sigh escaping her lips, she approached them. “Hey,” she said, languid voice coming out of her mouth. It was clear that she wasn’t happy to be there. “You ready to leave?”

Takamune Kitami Season 3 Fan Theory

Writer’s Note:
I created a theory revolving around recycled plot elements. The two Characters’ chosen for this theory have brief summaries of each of their routes that I think they are recycled from.

Takamune’s Season 3: I have the translations of what these two images. These images come from Takamune’s Season 3 main story. The screenshot on the left promotes Taka’s “His POV” story (it can no longer be viewed…). The screenshot on the right can be found in Takamune’s Season 3 profile (not available until Taka’s Season 3 is released). I have my friend to thank for translating these two statements from the screen shot.

The Left Screenshot:
I think I can be happy with you, I can no longer imagine a life without you for sure.

The Right Screenshot:
Even though I know my feelings, I don’t know how to put them into words.

Based on this I believe that Takamune’s Season 3 will focus on him learning to express himself. I think it will create a conflict that forces him to learn to express himself. In this route Takamune is finally achieving his dream of being selected  for the Japanese national soccer team.

Theoretically everything cannot be done all at once and I believe that him and MC will try to learn how to create a compromise so they can have both.

I have seen a similar formula in another route, Genji Higashiyama’s. Genji is MC’s ex-who left in high school to go to Italy for professional soccer. This comes back to haunt them after they reunite as their relationship progresses. It hits him that it’s possible to lose MC, he does everything in his power to make sure it doesn’t happen by being considerate, the problem is he tries too hard. He and MC are afraid of what is to come, they have to decide to choose between Genji taking MC to Italy (which repeats history), MC staying in Japan while achieving her dream.

Back to Takamune:
Taka has this ex of his (mentioned in his Season 1 Main Story) and he said that he didn’t have time for a girlfriend, he ended a five year relationship when he started to go pro. ALMOST the exact same thing happened to Genji.

I sense recycled plot elements are being used, I think Takamune doesn’t want to make the same mistake with MC, he already did that with his ex-girlfriend, he just happened to find someone so much more important. You learn mistakes from past relationships and Taka does everything he can to make sure he doesn’t lose the one he can’t imagine life without.

let me get this straight, we’re going to be getting peter hale; a white man child whose an overall pain in the ass and who keeps getting the same recycled plot which is that he’s an evil douche, yet sweet cinnamon roll kira yukimura; a woc who brings diversity to the show and has so much fucking potential has to be written off because there’s no screen time for her, what kind of bullshit is this?

You keep mentioning that they won't have One of FitzSimmons be an LMD because they've already had two surprises but this is the fourth time they've done this plot line. It's actually Is like a mix of all three other times. (Radcliffe betrays the team like Ward, The gas knocked people into out like Real SHIELD, the traitors aren't in control of their actions like Hive) so they obviously don't mind recycling plots. Are you sure we won't get anymore surprise LMDs?

Hi Anon!

Yes, we are seeing elements of past plots in this.  My point was its been within the last 6 episodes/the same arc.  I see it as pulling that one is now would be having someone else be pulled into the Hell Dimension in A after they got the boys back (Robbie’s was a bit different since it was taking Eli with him).  Or more people getting touched by Ghosts before they came up with the cure.  It gets old.

I can never be 100% on anything.  I make theories and predictions based on what is on the table and my gut.  I own I have been wrong before.  But my gut right now is that Fitzsimmons are going to get this win and fix it together.  Its where the arc has been leading with them.  They can’t do that if one of them is and LMD.  I also won’t say we won’t see the FItzsimmons LMD’s at some point either as everything hits critical mass.   But if we do see them it will be the short term and we could see them with the originals at the same time.

I also another point for swapping out Fitzsimmons.

  • They either need to take Fitzsimmons to Radcliffe or Radcliffe needs to come to them because they don’t have their doubles on site yet.  He also needs to get Fitzsimmons to HIS Framework/scanner.   Fitz’s is different.  They made sure to point that out at the beginning of 4x14.  Tha this system is smaller, more self contained, doesn’t fully map the brain, and is only set up in terms of training…it has limited capabilities.   Jemma said it was designed as a training exercise. So it was designed to only simulate whatever environment they need to train for.   Shield’s Framework has boundaries while Radcliffe’s is endless.  So someone in Shield’s eventually hits a wall.

We still have the Red Shirts in play, those are who I can see being surprise LMD’s.  Davis has been around all season and was on the op.  May’s tact team is also high on my list too.

They’ve made it clear (actors and crew) that the LMD arc is done with 15 and we are going to kick off C.  So at the very least the LMD threat needs to be taken care of.  Something will happen that the LMD”s are out of the pictures as well as Radcliffe’s means for creating new ones.   I also see his framework suffering a significant set back.

I haven't been watching the show but from what I can tell from reviews of the episode Riley is like Titus. Otherwise known as a plot device pulled out of thin air by the writers but apparently the other characters knew all about who he is except the audience. And he will probably, most likely, be the main factor in another important character's demise because the writers/JR have no idea what they're doing and they love repeating the same plotlines. The lOO is the worst.

Aaaaah ok I see. Another recycled plot. So groundbreaking… N O T.

We know what you think of Family Guy, what about the Simpsons?

Golden era or Zombie era?

Golden era simpsons, which to me encapsulates seasons 3-11 with the figurative shine dulling more and more the closer to S11 and some episodes being notable exceptions i.e “The Principal and the Pauper”, is consistently hilarious, intelligent and entertaining. Episodes like “Lisa’s Wedding”, “And Maggie Makes Three” (Source of the “Do it for her” meme), “Rosebud”, “Last exit to Springfield” and most of the Treehouse of Horror episodes are absolute classics.

Zombie era Simpsons is a pale shadow of it’s former self, has run out of ideas and even recycles plots we’ve seen before, is often very unfunny, has a left-wing bias (Though not as bad as Family Guy), is obsessed with celebs starring in it much to it’s detriment, has extreme levels of Flanderization of it’s characters near-unparalleled in animation and tries so hard to be relevant that it’s very painful to watch.

@Redworld96: That episode you said about “blow a fuse”, it was actually The Gamer episode? Or is an upcoming episode?

@WinnyGZ: it was “the gamer”

@Redworld96: I see :) . Can I ask then what it’s supposed to be those white cardboards they have in the picture?

@WinnyGZ: ahah. It’s because this framce is not finished yet. It is in fact towels… without “physis” ON. ^^

@itsartistical: how come Fu is in the background here but not during the frame in the episode?

@WinnyGZ: As I say : it was WIP. (work in progress)

Well that’s cleared up. The journal photo was actually a developmental shot and the white sheets were just CGI placements for motion I guess. Fu being the background was removed and the scene was finished up in the actual episode, however in the shot before this scene, Fu can be seen hiding behind a lamppost and the towels weren’t removed.

Still don’t get why they put an unfinished scene in the journal but oh well. What’s done is done.
