record of the day awards

“I listened to ‘Thriller’ on my Dad’s record player. Once I was old enough to use the record player. That took a little while. Dad was like you have to know how to do it right. You have to know how to put the needle on the, on the vinyl. Don’t scratch it. It took a while to learn.” - Adam Lambert

All week long we’re celebrating music with #InMyCollection. Whether it is vinyl, CDs, ticket stubs, or memorabilia, music fans are extremely passionate and proud of their music. Share your story on Instagram using #InMyCollection and you could be featured right here!

Today marks five years.
Rest in peace, Michael. You will be missed.
Whether you are dead or alive.

You bring up so many issues and gain so much popularity that the hatred grows with it as well. It’s sad to see such a beautiful soul be judged by a society that doesn’t understand. Maybe he’s in a better place where he doesn’t have to tolerate such hatred anymore.
Stop hate… spread love.

Vision Nine and BBC Worldwide are delighted to announce that the hugely popular Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular will come to The SSE Arena, Wembley in May 2015.

The live show, which was a sell-out on its world premiere in Australia, will enjoy a limited run -  It features over 100 performers and is conducted by Ben Foster, who conducts and orchestrates the musical scores for the TV series.  Music will be performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and members of the BBC National Chorus of Wales.

The show features a host of the Doctor’s famous adversaries including the iconic Daleks and Cybermen, the spine-chilling Silence and many more fan favourites. The live monsters provide a dramatic contrast to the evocative and thrilling music written by Murray Gold, who has been responsible for composing music for the series over the last eight years, including the record-breaking (and BAFTA award-winning) 50th anniversary episode Doctor Who: The Day or the Doctor.

The live music will be accompanied by a big screen presentation of key moments and specially edited sequences from the past 50 years of Doctor Who.

Irving Azoff to Be Saluted at Pre-Grammy Gala
Music industry legend Irving Azoff will be honored at the 2016 Pre-Grammy Gala at the Beverly Hilton, organizers announced today.

Azoff, chairman and CEO Azoff MSG Entertainment, will be presented with the President’s Merit Award in recognition of his significant contributions to the music industry and his numerous philanthropic endeavors.

Azoff will join previous recipients which include Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, Martin Bandier, Sir Richard Branson, Ahmet Ertegun, David Geffen, Berry Gordy, Lucian Grainge, Doug Morris, Mo Ostin, Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Clive Davis.

The action will take place at the 2016 Grammy Salute to Industry Icons event, which will again be presented by Davis and The Recording Academy on Feb. 14, 2016, a day before the 58th Grammy Awards. Sponsors of the invite-only VIP pre-Grammy party are Harman, Hilton, Hyundai and MasterCard.

Throughout his diverse career, Azoff has always been joined by, and continues to represent, the Eagles. And he’s a regular high-flier in the Billboard Power 100, topping the list in 2012 (when he was chairman/CEO Live Nation Entertainment and Front Line Management Group) and landing at No. 3 this year. “The first four decades of Irving Azoff’s career were marked by fearsome advocacy on behalf of his clients that did much to set the parameters of the music industry,” Billboard noted on his inclusion in the 2015 list.

Neil Portnow, president/CEO of The Recording Academy, echoes the sentiment. “This year,” he says in a statement, “we are proud to honor Irving Azoff — a visionary of our industry whose passion and innovation, combined with his championing some of the world’s greatest superstars, has helped to shape the musical landscape for decades.”

DawBell: Innovative Publicity with Passion and Integrity

Having opened our doors in September 2009 with just two clients and three members of staff, we are now proud to look after some of the biggest names of today, as well as the most exciting names of tomorrow.
Our first year’s success was underwritten when we won the Record of the Day Award for Best Independent PR Company of the Year, the only award in the music and journalism industry that recognises a PR company’s success as a whole.
We have since developed dedicated departments in-house offering focused service and expertise for Digital, Brands, Events and TV.
Now into our fourth year, we are proud to have a number of other prestigious awards under our belts including a third Record of the Day Award for 2012, Best PR Campaign of 2011 at the Music Week Awards for Take That’s album ‘Progress’ and a finalist position for New Consultancy of the Year at the PR Week Awards 2011. We were also shortlisted at the 2013 Music Week awards for two nominations within one category.

Our philosophy…

“Innovative Publicity With Passion and Integrity” is not just a corporate marketing slogan. Right now the media is going through the most exciting transition period it has known since the advent of newspapers. Traditional PR practices are changing fast and DawBell is embracing those changes. We are in a position to adapt and evolve with the media, meaning we are the most competitive, cutting edge and unique company of its kind. We are here to do an incredible job and anything less just won’t do.

Media relations…

Let’s dismiss the myth that having a great story alone is all you need in PR. For DawBell, having the best media relations is vital. It’s all very well having a great story to tell but if you have no one to tell it to then it’s all academic. The concept of seeing the media as an enemy is desperately out of date and is an anti PR view. We pride ourselves with incredible and unrivalled relationships; working directly with the media means the results are better for everyone involved. The history of successful public relations shows us that the most successful communicators were the ones with the strongest media relationships.

Our methods…

At DawBell we always strive to develop the most exciting and creative ideas and strategies for our clients. We will never simply churn out press releases and send off group emails hoping for the best. We pick up the phones and communicate directly the excitement and enthusiasm we feel for our clients. We are highly motivated and our results reflect this.
Planning is key to us; we plan carefully and realistically to ensure achievable results. As a young company we need to build the best possible reputation and we want long-term relationships with our clients. We believe in honesty and we won’t pretend to offer services we can’t deliver. For us it is simple – maximum effort for the maximum impact.

Some clients include: Paul McCartney, Pharrell, James Corden, Gary Barlow, Leona Lewis, MTV Brand New, Isle of Wight Festival, Google Play, Vevo
