Rebel Sollux cosplay Breakdown post!

Aha it’s no problem! Rebel Sollux is probably my favorite cosplay I’ve ever made! But yeah he’s actually not SUPER complex, when you break it down into sections. The shirt consists of three parts, not counting the sleeves, which are just solid, with yellow trim added to the edges.

The bottom section is just solid yellow, with a quilt binding border. It’s the easiest part~.

The second section is four rectangles, the two yellow ones on the sides, plus the black ones in the front and back. The gemini symbol and edges are formed with yellow double-wide bias tape.

The top section was the hardest, and the most complex, I guess. It’s a solid black piece, and the psionic symbol is formed with a yellow hexagon over the entire neck area. I outlined it with black quilt binding, then yellow. The v-shaped front is just a v-facing with some black bias tape over it.

The hood is just yellow, with the black rectangle sewn on top, then outlined with yellow bias tape. Underneath I wore my black turtleneck, and the yellow gloves are overtop a pair of black ones, because I figured it would look a little cleaner/nicer than just wearing the yellow ones and painting my fingertips? Mostly because the fingers on the yellow gloves are pretty long and only leave a little skin exposed at the end. xD I could always cut them or something, but IDK.

The pants are the same exact pattern I use for like, every pair of pants ever, it’s just a pair of pajama pants, with a big strip of yellow added down the side, and elastic in the tops and bottoms so that I could easily put them in my boots.

I ended up taking some liberties from the spritemix-a-lot design, because why the hell not, but I really liked a pair of boots I found at goodwill, even though they were brown, so I leather-dyed them black, and painted the straps yellow with a zillion layers of acrylic paint. 8D

If there’s anything else you really want me to explain, feel free to let me know and I’ll break it down for you!
