Spring is almost here, and that means
amphibians like these spotted salamanders are coming out to migrate to their
vernal pools! During breeding season, a female spotted salamander can lay 200
eggs a year. The vast majority don’t survive to leave the pond as adults. But
those that do manage to climb out can live 20 years in the wild. Besides the
cuteness factor, there’s at least one more reason to love salamanders: They
also eat mosquitoes. (Photo: Karen McDonald)
Masterpost: Matt a.k.a captain of the “Protect Karen at all costs squad”
You’ve probably noticed that Matt has been very protective of Karen since season 1, haven’t you? Well, let’s take a look, because it’s just so cute. Beware, this is going to be a looong post filled with pics!
In season 1:
For the record, in 1x01 (around 28′), he offered her to come to his place and he told her: “I will keep you safe, Karen.” He also literally saved her as the Man in the Mask around 40′.
In 1x08, Matts interrupts Karen and Foggy as they were discussing their plan and he tells Karen:
“There are things out there. You can’t be doing things like this, you’re gonna get hurt.”
In 1x13, he told her: “I told you I would keep you safe, Karen. When he came after you over Union Allied. That hasn’t changed.” Later on (around 30′), he’ll tell her and Foggy:“See, this, in this office, this is what’s important. Knowing that the people I care about are safe and having some sense of closure for the ones we’ve lost.”
It’s interesting to note that this first season was framed by these same words. Karen proved she was more than able to take care of herself, but Matt swore to protect her and that’s what he’s been doing, whether as Matt or Daredevil. He never forgot what he told her when they first met. He never forgot that night.
In season 2:
In 2x04, when Matt realizes Karen left with the Frank Castle files while he and Foggy were talking, he gets worried and wants to come after her more than anything else, but Foggy reminds him they have work to do:
When he realizes something is wrong..
When he realizes Karen’s gone.
He sighs, and all of a sudden, says: “I have to find her” and rushes to the door.
And that’s when Foggy stops him and you can see how frustrated and worried he is.
Maybe once upon a time this was about whether or not he was innocent or some kind of psycho murderer, but that ship sailed a long time ago. Along with your career at Nelson and Murdoch. So why do you still care?
Because he is not a psycho murderer! …He wasn’t a psycho murderer.
Kastle. #s 22 & 32 because I apparently hate myself
frank/karen + 22. “I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice.” & 32. “I think I’m in love with you and I’m terrified.” & 3. “Please don’t leave” (combining a request from a few nights ago into this)
In the past six months that had passed since the first time Karen met Frank Castle, she’d seen him every few weeks. Mostly out of the corner of her eye while she walked home from work or from the grocery store. Ever since he saved her life by crashing into her car, she’d been electing to walk home. Mostly because she couldn’t afford a new car.
Karen never called Frank out on being just a little creepy by following her around but if she had to be honest, mostly with herself, she kind of liked knowing The Punisher was never far away. Even if one of the last things that she said to him was that he was dead to her. Frank must have known she didn’t mean it. Why else would he keep coming back?
