really worth buying

Adulting 105

This week I’m giving a shoutout to my fav person ever @poorpersonsgiude. You go girl! Also @stormfallss for lighting up my phone for over two hours the other night. Thanks for the love.

1. Keep paper bills. Bills such as internet, rent, and utility for up to five months. These help prove residency, which will be useful when applying for Medicaid, in-state tuition, and for some jobs. If you’re not receiving any sort of paper bills, keep pay stubs with your address on them instead.

2. Cheap salt. Never spend more than a dollar on salt. Seriously. Chain supermarkets and dollar stores will sell large quantities of it to you for 99 cents. You’re not the Queen of Sheba- you don’t need $5 salt.

3. Wooden floors. If any part of you apartment/dorm room has a wooden floor, consider buying Bona Hardwood Cleaner. It’s a little pricey, but my last squeeze bottle lasted me just short of a year. It’s the best wood cleaner around.

4. Postage stamps. You don’t have to go to your local post office to buy stamps (which is great because sometimes it’s not “local” at all). You can purchase them at pharmacy centers like CVS or Rite Aid, as well as large chain supermarkets such as Stop & Shop and Walmart.

5. Moisturizers. Pick up at least one moisturizer to save your hands during these long winter months. If you’re a newbie just buy Gold Bond, it’s cheap and good for everything except your face.

6. Shower heads. If you have a terrible apartment shower head with no water pressure buy yourself a better one. There a color changing shower heads on Amazon that I personally swear by. Just be sure to keep the original shower head and to replace it when you move out.

7. Keep your student ID card. Even after you stop attending school. You’ll still be able to receive student discounts at places like museums and cinemas. They have no way of knowing if you’re still a student. What are they gonna do- call your school? I do this all the time!

8. Yankee Candle. Is so expensive, but it’s the only candle really worth buying. I’ve tried all sorts of discount candles from dollar stores and even from Target, but none of them smell even half as good as Yankee Candle.

9. Reminders. Forgetting important things such as bill payments, birthdays, or contraceptives? Set alarms and reminders on your Iphone to help you stay on top. I personally hate the Iphone calendar app so I downloaded Cozi (it’s free) and I use that instead.

10. Clean that fridge. Try to purge your fridge out at least once a month. There’s nothing more disgusting than food so decomposed that you can’t discern what it once was. The general rule of thumb about leftovers is if you don’t eat it within the next two days you won’t ever eat it. Try to give your fridge a sponge bath every three months, the shelves are easy to remove and I just wash them in my sink.

pphew! sorry for the late reply to these >.< i figured id just reply to all these in one post with some pics. Below are the watercolors i use and the the gold paints (keep in mind those pics i posted were like first attempts @_@ im still getting used to these…)

The water colors are Mjello Mission Gold Watercolors in the 34 tube set and the gold palette are the FineTec Artist Mica Watercolors in the Pearl set.

Now I’ll state first– both these sets are kinda pricey. The FineTec palette (about $27) is so worth it though because it comes in different golds and one tube of gold gouache is usually like $9 each or more depending on the amount of mica, so def worth the price and variety.

Below: from lightest to darkest on ivory tinted paper [Silver, Moon Gold, Gold Pearl, Arabic Gold, Tibet Gold, & Inca Gold] they look SUPER outstanding on black paper as well!

my fav is the richest one, the Inca Gold.

They are super nice, but if you plan on getting them, they are super HARD palettes! It’ll take a lot of scrubbing to get them activated and to have that nice gouache-like thickness, so if you don’t want to ruin your nice brushes, I def recommend getting some Ox Gall. Adding a drop or two of this will get them activated in no time, and with a nice opaque thickness. (the brand I have below they dont sell anymore, but other brands still make it)

As for the water colors, ehhh i feel weird cuz those vegetas were like my first attempts with this brand. Ive always used the Sakura Koi 24 color set palette because theyre super nice and super cheap (like $20) and Ive had them for years. I only got these because I wanted higher-grade watercolors in tubes. But they are very expensive, but for good reasons: they have a lot of pigment, which makes them so vibrant and bright and theyre designed to be very close to natural colors, not to mention theyre so SMOOTH when painting and they’ll probs last me forEVER because you get so much color with very little water.

(opera is best color IMHO) here’s a color chart I made (that took FOREVER btw) to give you an idea how beautiful they are and how many nice colors they make

so yea! those are the paints I used for those particular pics. Course if you would like a nice, cheap watercolor recommendation that works pretty well, Sakura Koi’s are a fantastic substitute. …..SORRY IF THIS WAS LONG i just akdfhalkfhd i like talking about traditional hope this was at least a little informative >.< if anyone has questions or wants some recommendations (while also saving some money) feel free to ask! I’ll help in any way i can with what i know, cuz despite posting mostly digital art, I am a traditional art supply FANATIC.

More merch for me! I ordered some stuff by @aileine from Redbubble (a mug, a notebook, some stickers, a print, a pillow) and I’m the happiest bean rn because my Eruri-collection keeps growing and seriously…her stuff is amazing and looks awesome on the products *__*. The quality itself is also very good!

If only the Eruris themselves could keep away from my stuff =__=

They take couple-baths in my tea (til Erwin farts at least)…

…and they try to take glances at my notebook. Those fuckers.

Production Draft of QAF 5x11 - The most precious thing in the world

i’m one year out of a two-year-long abusive relationship and i’ve finally stopped reeling from it. i’m not over it or even anywhere near over it yet, but for the first time i feel like i’m starting to heal. i’m slowly learning how to like being alive again, and it feels like i’m experiencing everything for the very first time. the other night i felt truly happy, like i’d never even been hurt before, for the first time in 2 ½ years. i’m always going to be scarred but maybe i won’t always be hurting

Current Thoughts On Horizon: Zero Dawn

- Aloy is perfect
- This game is goddamn gorgeous
- Everyone in this fucking game is hot
- Combat is way funner than I was expecting
- The blending of genres, with the post-apocalypse sci-fi in a primitive tribal setting with all of the psuedo magic and spirituality that goes with it is literally all I never knew I wanted in games
- I literally just found out it’s written by the guy who wrote Fallout: New Vegas, one of my favorite games ever, which explains why the writing is so good
- It’s managed to get me attached to several characters within moments of their introductions
- Fuck this game for doing the thing I knew it was going to do with Rost, I knew it was going to happen and I’m still upset about it

So yeah this game is really good, 120% worth buying the first console I’ve had in years just to play it

I Know Y'all Gonna Be Mad But

As a non fan Kim K or the rest of family I really don’t see the problem with Jackie Aina. I watched the full YouTube video and she even said she knows Kim K is controversial and they aren’t even close and that attending the launch was more of a business matter. Honestly I’m glad that Kim was at least professional enough to have a wider shade range than most new launches. Also in the YouTube beauty community it can be very viscous so sometimes it is better for YouTube beauty pros to just roll with the punches. Its not like Jackie sang the highest praises she was very honest and saying even though it was a decent product its not really worth buying it unless you are a Kim K fan. She even added that those products were sent to her in PR and if they hadn’t she probably wouldn’t t have bought them. A review is a review.

anonymous asked:

hi I read your review and it was great but I've heard differently like he messed up in Tampa or that his voice wasn't all good is it really worth buying a ticket?

Well, the first obvious thing to take into perspective here is that the band isn’t robotic. They’re bound to make a human mistake at some point. They have before in other tours and that didn’t stop anyone from getting tickets and it shouldn’t stop anyone now, thats just stupidly excessive. Just like every single band in the entire universe who has ever done multiple shows can tell you about a mistake they’ve made while on stage but their fans still go see them, no biggie.

I have no idea where people are saying he doesn’t sound good? I put up a recording of him singing the Kill for my crowd, so you can see that for yourself if you want. He had to entertain a crowd not only for his fans, but for Muse’s fans and for Pvris fans. Imagine you had to give someone who didn’t come for you a good time, the pressure behind it.

My final point here: its all on perspective. If people anticipated failure for them of course they will say something against what they played - no matter how good the rest of the show was all they will tell you is about how for the first line of Up in the Air, Jared was shaky or out of breath. And if they can’t judge the performance they’ll make a comment on his clothes. I didn’t know liking their music or the quality of performance came with physical conditions..?

Yeah, some shows go better than others and its all based on the luck of that day both for you** AND them** (I’m sure they hate making mistakes just as much as people love to point them out). If you’re unsure then get a cheaper ticket, but go see for yourself. They’re worth it.

And, before I get called “just another crazy kiss up fan”: If I wouldn’t have liked something I would have said so. If they did terribly, I would have admitted it. Because I paid money and while I was there for them, I had to leave impressed. But I did. I left wanting to go back. And get a seat closer to them, too. So thats how I know getting a ticket was worth it.

Happy birthday, Eren.

Go, have some fluff!

„Which one do you like?“ Levi asked Eren, holding up a red and a yellow sky lantern in their wrapping, the plastic foil rustling in his hands.

They stood in one of these small stores which sold nothing but bric-a-brac, the many shabby-style shelves cluttered with stuff that Levi didn’t really consider worth buying. Eren on the other hand loved the place, his gaze flickered over the trumpery as if it he had heard the call of his mothership, guiding him home. Levi sighed, already considering which tactic to use to hale Eren out of here later, before this thing would end in one of his overexcited (dreadful) shopping orgies.

„Hm.“ To Levi’s relief Eren averted his gaze from the brummagem and picked up at a parcel that lay on top of the basket in front of them, showing it to Levi.

„Really?“ Levi wondered, scowling at the odd choice that Eren beamed at. The red and yellow lamps sank down at his sides.

His scowl only became even deeper. „It’s boring. I wonder why they keep on producing them anyway. No one seems to buy this colour.“ Levi wondered as he put the two lanterns back into the basket, next to a whole slew of grey ones that apparently truly no one – except Eren – really liked to buy, when there were a lot of bright coloured lanterns to choose from as well. „Pick another one.“

„No.“ Eren clenched the chosen article to his chest as if he wanted to protect it and looked up at Levi’s eyes. „I like this one.“

„Well, it’s your choice you old fart,“ came the grumbled reply as Levi snatched the item out of his hands and turned to the register. „I’ll pay for it.“

Eren seized him by the arm to hold him back. „Wait! What about you?“

„What about me?“

„You pick one too.“ Eren beamed, pointing at the basket.

Levi shook his head. „It’s your birthday, shithead. Not mine.“

„Yes. And because it’s my birthday I want you to pick one as well.“

„Tch.“ Levi rolled his eyes in defeat, grabbing a turquoise sachet for himself. „You’re weird. Do you know that?“

„Yes. You keep on telling me.“

„I guess I do. Come on, let’s buy these things and set them on fire.“

„How romantic.“

„Oh, shut up!“

- - -

It was one of these cold March nights, the still chilly east wind mercilessly cutting through the air and crawling under their thick coats and visible puffs of air rising out of their mouths with each breath as they walked over a meadow, looking for a free space to release their lanterns.

Levi hated the cold, but it didn’t keep him from admiring the passionate glint in Eren’s eyes as he looked up to the star-dusted sky as he always used to, directing the ray of his torch light at the zodiacal signs as he named them, which Levi would always forgot the instant he heard it… at least that was what he kept on telling Eren. It would make him step closer and guide Levi’s hand to the sky to trace the well-known signs with an affectionate smile that would Levi’s heart rate speed up dangerously. Levi never could tell if Eren looked through his farce or not.

Eventually they found a spot that was ideal and Levi fetched the lanterns out of his pocket, unwrapping first Eren’s, then his own. They crouched down on the soft grass that was already scattered with the first cheerful flowers of spring – daisies, violas and forget-me-nots. They looked all grey in the dull light of the night, but their scent was strangely enhanced.

„Do you remember kindergarten?“ Eren asked suddenly as he lay down the torchlight on the grass and searched his pockets for the small box of matches while Levi build up the lanterns. „When they made us sit in a circle, whenever it was one of our birthdays and they enkindled a tissue that would fly up, only if we would be quiet enough to hear it?“

„They only said that to make you shut up for once and sit still for a minute.“ Levi mumbled, grateful that the darkness concealed his faint blush.

Eren chuckled. „Don’t be such a crabber. It was a nice tradition.“

„They used to tell us to make a wish when the tissue flew up,“ he continued. „Mine always came true.“

„Because you only wished for the stupid chocolate cake your mother used to bake anyway.“

„Hey,“ Eren’s bright laugh burst out of him. „I loved that cake.“

„Yeah… I’m sorry she can’t be with you today.“

„Well, I’ve got you, don’t I?“ It was stupid stuff like this, that made Levi’s chest go tight and his stomach churn. Eren would always say such things and it would go under Levi’s skin.

Glancing at Eren he once more wondered if he just should tell him or better let it be. He didn’t want to destroy their friendship, just because he was selfish. But yes, he remembered all too well. It had inspired him to this idea that morning. He had recalled sitting next to Eren in kindergarten and reaching for his small hand because he new that Eren was afraid of the darkness – even if it would only last for a moment and was simply caused by closed blinds. His hand would clench around Levi’s as if it was a sheet anchor, until their teacher would open the shutters again and not let go for another minute or so, until his narrow shoulders relaxed with an almost inaudible sigh of relief.

Levi cleared his throat, holding up the lamps. „Well, why don’t you make a wish today, too. Better not make it that cake though.“

„Shall we?“

The hiss of an enkindled match rang loudly in the silence around them and the sudden light shone bright in the darkness, almost hurting Levi’s eyes. Eren inflamed the lanterns in Levi’s hands, blew out the match and carelessly discarded it to the damp grass, earning a disapproving snort from Levi. Eren chuckled. „Sorry.“

„Here, you crackpot,“ he held out the grey lantern, not allowing him to show any reaction as Eren’s gentle fingers brushed his as he took it.

„You make a wish too.“

„Yeah, yeah.“

They stood in anticipatory silence for a few seconds, until Eren broke it. „On three. One… tw–“

„Wait,“ Levi interrupted him.

„With three or afterwards?“

„Er, I don’t know. With three, I guess?“

„You guess?!“

„Well, I didn’t think about it before.“

„Clearly,“ Levi teased him. „You never do.“

„Oh, come on, Levi. You can’t even not complicate this one, can you?“

„Tch. Can we please hurry? I’m freezing my balls off in this fucking cold.“

„You’re the one who started this. Just do it with three, you nitpicker.“

„As you wish, birthday boy.“

„Okay,“ Eren chuckled in response, his eyes sparkling at Levi’s. „Second try. Don’t ruin it, please! One… two…three.“

With the last word they let go of their lanterns at the same time. The flickering lights rose up higher and higher into the dark sky, all the way up to the stars, and they watched in silence side by side as the tiny flames grew smaller and smaller, dancing around each other in the cold wind, until they were too tiny to see them at all anymore. They didn’t move though, still looking up at the stars that blinked down on them.

An abrupt rush of goosebumps shot down Levi’s back, and it wasn’t for the cold blast of wind, as he felt Eren’s knuckles graze against his and linger in place in a quiet question. His heartbeat stuttered, then sped up and nestled in his throat as he hesitantly followed suit, opening his hand and cautiously reaching out for Eren’s, ready to instantly pull back at a rejection.

Warm fingers linked with his and squeezed, coaxing a silent sigh out of him that had been suffocating him for all this time. He squeezed back, suddenly fighting back tears and only bumped his shoulders against Eren’s, not able to say anything just yet, as he heard that wonderful chuckle again.

„See? They always come true.“

He guessed, they did.
