really really beautiful work

Anzu’s Dilemma

This is inspired by @sitabethel‘s latest Lemonade Stand update. This is supposed to be longer but I can’t quite figure out the second half so here we are.  Damn shame too since the second half contains the actual fanfic of a role play from a fanfic haha try saying that five times

Anyways, I might continue this in the future if I felt like it but for now it’s gonna stay like this until I figure out how to write the second half

“Are you sure you can’t make a sequel now?”

It’s been a week since the porn contest between the Pharaoh and the Thief, and another week before Anzu lost control of her thoughts regarding the winning video.

“Anzu…”  Ryou smiled sheepishly at the girl with furrowed brows. “I told you, we’re still thinking about it…” Ryou mentally thanked the Spirit for honing his patience. She’s been asking that question for an entire week now and if Ryou didn’t have a saint-like patience, who knows what he would have done to her now. Anzu is his friend sure, but a guy can only be asked a question so much before they snap.

“I know!” Anzu exclaimed before reclining back in her seat. She and Ryou are currently the only ones sitting outside the café, the chosen rendezvous point for today’s hangout. Granted the others are practically late from the designated time but that’s all right; Yugi and the Pharaoh already informed them that they’ll be running late, and Jounouchi and the others are practically a given already. Honestly, Anzu is secretly thankful to the others. She was pretty sure Ryou and his teammates are avoiding her these past few days, but she can’t help it! Her curiosity must be satiated! Frankly, Anzu would be doing the same thing if she is in their shoes. Too bad for them, she’s not.

“It’s just so frustrating!” She continued after taking a sip of her cool lemonade. “I want to know what happens next! Do you know how frustrating that is?” She didn’t even wait for Ryou to answer before carrying on; eyes squinted so hard Ryou wondered if she will be able to see him escaping. “Of course you know! You’re one of us!”

Ryou watched his friend rant against the unfair hand she’s been dealt with, letting her say what’s on her mind until her steam run out. He wanted to comfort her and tell her that it’s alright but he knew it wouldn’t do much. The feelings of a starving fan won’t be appeased until the next update. Unfortunately for Anzu, life is keeping their foursome busy and unable to work on the promised sequel. The earliest they can start working on it won’t be until after six months.

After.

Six.

Months.

Ryou doesn’t have the heart to tell her that. He can already imagine the amount of heartbreak the girl will go through should he inform her of the unfortunate delay. Poor, poor Anzu. If only he knew how much trouble their video would cause, he would have stopped it before it even started. Oh wait. No, he won’t. Stopping it would erase the fact that they won against the Pharaoh for a change. Looks like Anzu will just have to suck it up then. Sorry Anzu, but you know how it is, Law of Equal Value. You win some, you lose some.

“I’m so sorry, Ryou…”

Anzu’s meek voice snapped Ryou out of his musings. “Oh Anzu, it’s alright,” he said, smiling earnestly at the girl.

“No, Ryou, I act like a whiny kid. I’m so sorry, I know you have far more serious matters to think about and yet here I am-“ she raised her arms a little and let it fall to her sides as if to signify how pathetic she seems at the moment. “-whining non-stop about the sequel. I feel so pathetic right now.”

Wide eyes and slack jaws expressed how Ryou felt for that statement. “You’re not pathetic, Anzu. You’re one of the coolest people I know! How can you say that?”

Tinkling laughter answered his question after a short moment of stunned silence. Ryou felt his face grew hot. Complimenting his friends is nothing new to him; complimenting his friends and being laughed at is another thing though. Gods, he wants to crawl under a rock now.

“Thanks Ryou, I needed that.” She then giggled when she noticed his blush. “Oh geez Ryou, I’m not laughing at you. Don’t worry.”

“I know that…” he replied, laughing along with her.

A comfortable silence blanketed the two after their small giggle-fest. This went on for a while until an idea made itself known to Ryou.

“You know…” he mumbled, watching Anzu raise an eyebrow in interest. “You should go write your own sequel.”

Ryou saw how big Anzu’s eyes went with his little revelation and how she openly gaped on him. He can’t help but giggle at how she stuttered when she tried to speak.

“Are you serious…!”

A nod is all Ryou offered her for an answer.

And that’s how Anzu found herself hunched over a blank piece of paper later that night. With a sigh, the girl furiously buried her hands in her brown hair as she screamed out her frustrations to the pink pillow placed on her desk. How does Ryou do this?! Anzu’s pretty sure that boy practically writes out their Monster World campaigns a day before the actual campaign itself. If only she can do that too…

Shaking away the gloomy atmosphere around her, Anzu started psyching herself up for the task at hand. She promised herself that she will write this sequel and so she shall! Come on, Anzu. You can do this. Do it for yourself! For your friends! And for the world that deserves a continuation of this tale! Yeah!

.

.

.

It has been three hours since Anzu started and the paper still remains blank.

“I’m a little embarrassed to admit how much power you actually hold over me.”

“I’m never helping you home ever again.” You huffed as you dragged the drunken mass of a man named Gaston through the empty town square late in the evening.

“You said that the last time.” Gaston slurred as he leaned more heavily into your side, making your job of escorting him home all the more difficult.

You grunted as the sudden increase in weight caused your balance to topple a little. Luckily you managed to catch your footing before the both of you crashed on the unforgiving cobblestone.

“Look, I’m gonna need you to ease up here,” You said as you tried to push him off you so you weren’t carrying all of his weight. “You’re three times my size and I’m going to need a little cooperation.”

Still in a daze, Gaston leaned his head down so your foreheads touched before he burried his face into your neck. “You’re hair smells really nice.” His voice was muffled and hard to understand with his slur but you got the point.

You sighed heavily as you stopped your movements and looked down at him. Had it not been for the fact you had been dragging him by the arm for the past twenty minutes and still had a good way to go, you would have found his behavior endearing or even amusing.

But now it was just annoying, you repositioned your arm around him and pulling him away from you with the best of your ability. “Come on, It’s high time we got you home.”

The two of you trudged along, Gaston had since stopped talking but you could faintly hear him humming the song he was singing in the tavern with the other townspeople but at least he was somewhat walking on his own.

You rounded the corner and walked up to the steps that lead to his front door before you stopped and had him lean against the railing. “Where is your key?”

Gaston ran his hands down the red leather of his coat and patted at the two outside pockets before he shrugged. “Dunno.”

You sighed and pulled at the one lapel of his coat and dug into the pocket that was sewn into the inside.

Gaston let out a rather high pitched giggle and wrapped his hands around your waist to hold you closer. “At least wait till we’re inside, darling.”

You quickly fished the key from his pocket and wacked at his hand before you removed yourself from his grasp.

“You’re lucky you’re drunk,” You mumbled as you sat him down on the last step. “Stay here until I get the door.” You said as you pointed your index finger a few inches from his nose.

Gaston nodded lazily and moved his head foward to bop his own nose against your finger before he slumped against the railing.

“Next time I see Lefou, I’ll strangle him.” You muttered as you ascended up the steps and unlocked the door, opening it the entire way to avoid as little malfunctions as you could manage.

Taking the time to light a few candles so you had some source of light before attempting to drag him through the maze of furniture in his living room.

Gaston was still slumped where you left him whenever you made your way outside again. “Up we go,” You heaved as you dragged his body yo from the ground. “Let’s get you inside.”

He was much more quiet as the two of you crossed the threshold. You were fairly certain Gaston was falling asleep where he stood because all of a sudden the weight became too much and you had to drop him on the couch so you could recollect your strength.

“What am I going to do with you?” You said with exasperation as you looked down at, hearing him start to giggle again and this time drawing a laugh from yourself. “Hey, I’m trying my best.”

Gaston continued to chuckle as he stood up on his own, pinching your cheek lightly as he passed you. “I know, dear.”

You walked ahead and pulled open his door, making sure he didn’t harm himself on the way to his bed. Gaston fumbled with getting his getting his coat off, and had an even harder time undoing the buttons of his waistcoat until eventually asking for your assistantance.

His eyes followed your movements as you undid the little brass buttons and helped him remove the fabric from his shoulder so he could rest in comfort. You even went the step further and helped him climb into the covers and making sure he was warm.

You sat down on the edge and sighed as you patted his chest. “See? We finally made it,” You told him with a smile. “Here sit up.” You advised as your started untying the ribbon from his hair and setting it on the bedside table.

“Comfy?” You asked him as he shook out his hair and finally let his head fall back into the pillow with a sigh of content.

You brushed back a rogue strand of dark hair from his eyes, and seizing the opportunity, Gaston grabbed your hand and pressed a kiss to the back of it.

“You know, it’s a little embarrassing to admit how much power you hold over me.” He mumbled against your hand as his eyes fell shut.

The small tingle his breathing left against your skin made you laugh a little. “Oh you’re not going to remember a word of this tomorrow,” You said with a sigh as he started to drift in and out of sleep. “And then you’ll come complaining to me about your hangover.”

“You know me too well.” He said quietly as his hand let go of yours. “I might as well marry you.”

You laughed and shook your head at him. “We can talk about marriage tomorrow when you can tell me what day it is.”

“Do I detect a promise?” Gaston asked, though the end of his sentence and drifted off as he finally fell asleep.

You gave him a lopsided smiled before you leaned over and blew out the candle to let him get some well deserved sleep.

clique six dynamics (as ranked by my followers): #2 - isadora smackle & riley matthews

you do always look for the good in people, riley. // isadora, i don’t think there’s anybody we respect more than you.

I had this great shower vision of how every time Yuri says “well I was messing around with a routine in Detroit and Phichit liked it but I thought it was pretty flashy”, Victor just pulls out a bottle of vodka and starts chugging instead of screaming “WHY DIDN’T YOU SKATE LIKE THIS AT THE OLYMPICS? I WAS SO BORED AT THE OLYMPICS.”

Shahi has always had incredible chemistry with whomever she is working opposite on any show, but never to the degree she had with Acker. Both are incredible actresses on their own, but paired together on screen they delivered some of the most stunning moments of their careers. Their chemistry gave birth to the relationship between their characters and their joint commitment to nurture that relationship made it something truly special that will live on in the lexicon of pop culture until the end of time. You absolutely can’t talk about either character or either actress without mentioning the other because these parts richly intertwined them. For years, and likely decades, to hear the mention of one will elicit a reference to the other. Their hard work and dedication to Shaw and Root has forever bonded them in ways I doubt they could have fully comprehended when this journey began.
