really pleased with this

there’s something endlessly hilarious to me about the phrase “hotly debated” in an academic context. like i just picture a bunch of nerds at podiums & one’s like “of course there was a paleolithic bear cult in Northern Eurasia” and another one just looks him in the eye and says “i’ll kill you in real life, kevin”

hey @ goyim could y'all reblog this if you're actually willing to listen to Jewish people and protect us?

we really need allies right now, and I know seeing this on people’s blogs could be comforting to other Jewish people. But please don’t do this as performative allyship- actually try and help us irl, or at least learn about antisemitism enough to spot it and call it out.

                                                   LEARN YOUR HISTORY.

I wanted to create a short, simple guide to the history & origins of the pride flags and get people to learn more about the symbols of our community. I know this isn’t the complete list, but I wanted to start this off with these 7. Hopefully, in the future I will update and add some more. This has been a long research & creation process. I’m open to suggestions.

Tfw you’re casually enjoying your evening and an angel falls through your ceiling and is super hot oh no

I’m calling this one the Angelfall AU! Keith has to learn how to live with an angel who is way too egotistic about his one (1) wing and angelic powers even though he has no memories whoops

Dude. Dude, I know. Here’s some great stuff about Keith that fandom can no longer deny:

  • when asked to describe himself he first comes up blank
  • no mentions of his talents whatsoever?? he’s not arrogant
  • in fact he has no trouble admitting that he’s bad at something
  • keeps saying that he pilots the black lion but refuses to say that he’s the black paladin
  • he thinks that being part Galra might be why he has always been bad at connecting with people
  • automatically plays around with his knife when the Galra part gets mentioned
  • THE STUPID CHEER FROM S1 IS STILL ON HIS MIND
  • is very straightforward and wants to avoid complicated stuff as much as possible
  • apologized twice for blowing up; he’s self-conscious about his temper
  • [voice crack] “I don’t know why I’m that way”
  • is aware of his abandonment issues
  • is also aware that he puts some walls up
  • tries to compose himself by rubbing his fingers together
  • knows when he is about to cry and promised himself not to do it ((in front of the camera/a potential audience at least))

HE’S. SO GREAT. SO SO GREAT. He’s much more self-aware than fandom gives him credit for. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH ;A;

IIf Netflix or any studio should learn something is that Percy Jackson and The Olympians is where the money is right now. The fandom is starving for a loyal adaptation, we don’t care if it’s a movie, a show or a cartoon, we want something. The Lighting Thief musical proved that betting on this fandom will not be a mistake, the recording of the musical (an off-broadway musical) broke records in pre-sales (in a record company that has records of very successful musical) not only that but the day it was released they reached #1 in musicals beating Hamilton and Moana and even managed to be on the top 10 on Itunes, the success of the musical was so big it’s actually going on tour next year.

There is already a loyal fanbase, I’m talking about people who are from 15 years old to over 30 years old and grew with the books and would support it as long as is a loyal adaptation (and are starving for official merchandise). The saga is intended for kids so that only means the fandom would grow even more with the new fans. The saga has been a best seller for over 440 weeks, last time I check it was beating Harry Potter over how long it was on the best-seller list.

And if they think that shows with kids as leads would not do well Netflix already has very successful shows like A Series of Unfortunate Events (who also has Joe Tracz as a writer who also worked on the scrip of the Lighting Thief Musical), there is also The Worst Witch and while Stranger Things might not be a kids show is absolutely proof that you can find kids who are absolutely better actors than most of the actors playing teenagers in tv shows.

Is absolutely disappointing that Fox fucked up what could have been a saga as huge (or even bigger because it has more books) than Harry Potter and that nobody is talking about reboots (when almost all the current movies or shows are reboots)

I really like the idea of Taako (and elves in general) having really long ears that move independently. Taako gets startled by something and the ears are standing straight up - Magnus realizes this within a week of meeting the twins and tries to sneak up on them all the time because that’s hilarious and also kind of adorable? (The twins don’t put up with that for long, and their retaliation is expertly planned and executed.)

The crew is scoping out a new world, or the boys are on a mission for the Bureau, and it’s suspiciously quiet. They’re all trying to listen for the noise of a nearby enemy and one of Taako’s ears perks up, swivels, and then lowers again while the other perks up instead. He doesn’t even know he’s doing it. The ears keep trading places.

When he’s tired, the ears are droopy. Ren can tell when he’s losing steam at work by their slow descent; if he’s determined to stay awake, they’ll twitch up every so often but it’s a losing battle. When he’s upset - very sad or angry - his ears will be at their lowest, brushing his shoulders. On bad days, the ears don’t move much at all.

Kravitz is fascinated. He’ll play with Taako’s ears, bothering them into twitching in all directions until Taako finally has to swat his hand away because for fuck’s sake Kravitz you’re going to get a face full of this stew if you don’t stop that shit I’m trying to cook go bother Lup. Kravitz does not bother Lup because Lup has already put up with a century of Barry bothering her ears and that is about the limit of her patience.

They haven’t been dating for terribly long when Kravitz compares Taako to a bunny the first time after a few drinks. Then Kravitz won’t let it go, and Taako wants to be annoyed but it turns into a pet name. Taako has never been in a relationship that involved pet names before; he doesn’t know what to do. At that point in his life, he’s not used to someone liking him so much. He still puts up a token resistance but it’s hard to be annoyed when Kravitz sounds that… genuinely affectionate. If he thinks he’s calling Taako that in public or in front of anyone Taako knows, though, he can look forward to ordering take-out for a month.
