I've never read any type of fan fiction , soo can you recommend me good slow burn camren fics? Thanks love your blog girly

Lauren never planned on living in the house she lived in. She never planned on working the job she worked. She never planned on befriending a strange girl named Camila, either. Lauren never planned a lot of things. Thanks sweets 😘

Chances (one of my favs)

Camila and Lauren both share a room in college, but that’s about the only thing they have in common. At least that’s what they assume. From the start, they haven’t been able to get along with each other, seeing as they’re pretty incompatible and they pick fights over everything. But little do they know that they’re each other’s closest friends on Tumblr. They message each other constantly and along the way, feelings developed. What happens when they soon realize on a bold decision to meet on a blind date that the person who they want nothing to do with is the same person they think about right before they go to sleep?

Lifeboat Lighthouse (favs)

Camila’s entire life had been mapped out for her since she was child, she would go to college, study business and then eventually take over her father’s company. It was a life she never wanted but had no say in at all. But when the privileged daughter of a multimillionaire meets Lauren, a waitress on the luxury cruise ship where she’ll be spending the summer, her world and everything she knows is turned upside down. Camila is about to learn the hard way that just like the ocean that she sails on, life can be unpredictable. Like the turning tides, everything can change in an instant.

Walk a Mile (favs)

Look with your eyes. Judge with your soul. First impressions almost always suck. They can be spot on or way off, depending on how open and receptive you are to the other person. When you make preconceived notions about people, learning to tolerate them can be a little difficult. What if you have to live with them? That’s the situation Camila and Lauren have been put in. As typical and cliche as it may be, two totally different worlds collide. However this time, neither of them know whether they’ll mould or combust.

Yours Truly

Lauren and Camila know a lot about each other, except for, well, their names. They’ve been writing anonymous, handwritten letters to each other for an English assignment for a couple months now and during that time, Lauren’s developed a genuine interest for a girl whose handwriting resembles a child’s first attempt at using a pencil. But she couldn’t be more charmed by it. What happens when Lauren unexpectedly finds out that the shy girl in her class who she doesn’t know a single thing about has the exact same handwriting as in the letters she anticipates reading every single day?

Through Her Eyes

Lauren never planned on living in the house she lived in. She never planned on working the job she worked. She never planned on befriending a strange girl named Camila, either. Lauren never planned a lot of things.

Reasons to go, reasons to stay

“And I wonder how many polar opposites we have brought together by falling in love. Inside you could have been the match that started the fire and burned down an entire house, and inside of me may live the remnants of a rocking chair inside the house that was burned to the ground. All these little things… these cells that make up our bodies, they could have once despised one another. But now every single part of me is in love with every single part of you. Just with one touch we would be resolving age old conflicts, or ushering the tip of the tallest mountain to kiss the sand that lies at the deepest part of the ocean.”

Yellow series : Yellow / Blue / Green  (FLUUUFFFF)

Lauren Jauregui hated Camila Cabello, plain and simple. Of course, who could blame her? Camila had been the one who read Lauren’s private texts in front of the whole cafeteria, forcing her out of the closet. Lauren left for New York with her three best friends the day she graduated, thinking she had escaped Camila. The only problem is, Camila is back. And different. Completely different. Not the kind of ‘different’ you’d expect, either.

The Stripper (SMUT)

Have you ever imagined having two lives? Be two people at the same time? I bet you have. But between thinking and living there was a very big distance, believe it. Imagine… Camila, a sweet and delicate woman. Karla, sexy and imposing. Which one would you choose? What’s your type? Hard, I know. Let’s let Lauren answer this one…

Experiments (SMUT)

A lot of girls experiment in college; it’s natural. It’s no different at the University of Miami, and when they’re looking to experiment, they know exactly who to go to. But what will happen when she finally falls for one of the girls she hooks up with?

Trials & Tribulations (very long but must read)

“A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.”

CC7 / LJ10 (still ongoing - not many updates)

Lauren and Camila are two of the most promising soccer talents in the country. The two skilled girls are playing for the U-17 US team to win the world championship in Costa Rica. Their connection on the field is obvious but what happens off field when unexpected feelings come in to play?

Surreal Perfection (non au)

It’s been a year since Lauren decided to break out from Fifth Harmony to start her own band, and Camila still hasn’t forgiven her for leaving them, and for leaving her. After a brief encounter at an award show, their lives come crashing back together. Angst, Drama, Humour, Romance, and everything else in between.

The Girl Next Door

Camila Cabello is an average girl. She’s not popular, or somewhere in between. She belongs to a group that her school refers to as the Brains. She’s extremely smart, involved in many educational clubs and the only thing fun in her life, advanced choir.  She’s that type of girl who gets pushed around, does people’s homework because they tell her too, and gets tormented by the preps. The preps (the popular kids) are a group of people who torment people like the Brians. Camila has found her self running from them all her life. Along side with her friends Dinah Jane Hansen, Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke and Darren Criss. But one day during one of her encounters with the preps, her life changes forever. And it was all because of her.

Do I Wanna Know (non-au)

Hi! I deeply enjoy reading your fics (especially the Duality Verse but really everything you write is great and inventive!) and I thought you should know, even though that's not the subject of my ask. Anyway, I've seen quite a few fanarts about Altean Lance and I was just wondering what were your thoughts on this concept? Feel free to ignore if you've already answered this/are not interested. I hope you have a wonderful day! :)

Thank you so much!

I really love Altean!Lance–I think that’s an AU with a lot of possibilities, whether you go with Lance as one of the old paladins or Allura’s brother or something (where he was in stasis for 10,000 years with Allura and Coran), or you go with Lance being descended from Altean survivors (whether or not he knows it.)

Actually, I recently got a comment from @seamarmot on my Coran-centric pre-canon fic (One Week to Say Goodbye) about Altean Lance and Allura’s mom, Lealle (who was the previous blue paladin in Voltron: Duality, for those who haven’t read the series.) So since that’s been on my mind, here’s some thoughts on Altean!Lance in the Dualityverse (pre-stasis; I might be tempted to write up some post-stasis thoughts at some point but this started to get long):

  • Lance grew up on Altea to a relatively average family. He wasn’t nobility, but his family was pretty well off, and Lance could have easily been a businessman or a minor politician or an artist or any number of things
  • But he idolizes the paladins of Voltron, dreaming about being a paladin himself someday, so he joins the Voltron Guard–the fleet of support ships and ground troops that helps the paladins out on larger/more difficult campaigns
  • He’s only an average pilot to start–good enough to be a pilot, not a foot soldier, but not good enough to really stand out–but he works really damn hard and he’s super enthusiastic about everything, and his fellow pilots all know him as someone who cares about his team
  • That’s how Lealle first hears about him, actually. She makes a habit of going around to check in with the Guard, eating lunch with a different squadron each day she doesn’t have other duties, stopping by in the evenings to see how everyone’s getting along, that sort of thing. She figures these people have dedicated their lives to supporting her mission and making her job easier, so the least she can do is help with morale.
  • But see, she’s also a bit of a prankster, so sometimes she’ll come disguised as another species–most often pretending to be a merchant (since she grew up with them and know how to fake it) so she can skip the whole blue-paladin-slash-queen-of-Altea hero-worship.
  • (The veteran soldiers see right through it after a while, but no one’s gonna ruin it for the newbies.)
  • So Lance.
  • Lance sees this gorgeous woman being all buddy-buddy with his friends, and he figures he owes it to them both to make her feel welcome.
  • His suave entrance is ruined somewhat when he realizes his friends are already talking about him, but he re-centers and makes a good faith effort to flirt with the merchant lady…
  • …only to be turned upside down, inside out, and left floundering because this woman can talk circles around him.
  • The sheer challenge of it snaps him out of flirtatious mode, and they start joking around, and at the end of the night Lealle lets her shift go and asks Lance if he’d like to train with her.
  • Once Lance is able to salvage his dignity, he agrees (duh)
  • Lance isn’t the only one training under the paladins–there are usually two dozen or so, and this group only ends up filling about half the vacancies on Team Voltron, since the lions ultimately pick their own pilots.
  • Lance and Meri (another Altean blue paladin hopeful, who’s a little bit older than him–closer to Allura’s age) become fast friends and wreak havoc on the castle–sock-skating down the hallways, sneaking down together to Blue’s hangar because they like hanging out with their fav kitty, Meri daring Lance to do stupid shit that ends with more than one fighter wrecked…
  • Every time Lealle catches them, she tries to act stern and disappointed (to keep up appearances in front of Alfor, Allura, and the other paladins), then drags Lance and Meri off by their ears. As soon as they’re out of sight of the others, Lealle lets go, then usually drags them off for more trouble disguised as training
  • Lance is great at strategy, which he learns from Coran, and diplomacy, which he learns technically from Coran but realistically from Allura
  • Meri is awesome at shape-shifting–only Lealle is better. Meri, Lealle, Lance, and occasionally Coran have shape-shifting competitions that Allura is of course too dignified to engage in
  • (Except the combined puppy eyes of Lance and Meri wins her over every time.)
  • Consider also that Zarkon is still a paladin at this point
  • Consider that Lance and Meri would absolutely prank the living hell out of Team Voltron’s “furless leader” (Lealle and Coran try really hard not to encourage them–they do! They just… are not successful.)

I've been following your blog for a while now and I wanna know your opinion on something. It might be insensitive so don't answer if you don't like it! *sweatdrops* What do you think about Oda being called Dazai's closest friend? Since I ship both Oda/Dazai and Soukoku I'm conflicted. Does this mean Chuuya was never Dazai's friend? And does this mean Oda is more important? From what I read Chuuya wasn't even around in the Dark Era novel. Maybe Oda/Dazai is more canon if Oda lived.

Hello friend! First of all, thanks for liking and following my blog! I’m getting inactive nowadays, but it pleases me to know that there are people who still read what I occasionally write.

Next, these are all loaded questions that, frankly, I wanted to address at some point but really couldn’t find the time or the motivation to. Add that to me just being a general Incoherent Mess™ half the time and you get all these weird pseudo-meta(hah!) posts that go around in circles. But anyway! I’ve been asked for my opinion so I’d do my best to lay out my thoughts without being too confusing.

Since there will be spoilers, I urge everyone to first read the ongoing translations being done by @nkhrchy. If you only want the summary, head on over to @riecat‘s page. And if you’re a real masochist, read the ending translated by @snowyesque.

So with that out of the way, here we go~~~~

>The Non-Importance of Nakahara Chuuya

Yikes. Writing that makes me feel like I’m bullying everyone’s lovable hat store. But what I meant to say was that Chuuya didn’t fit in with the Dark Era novel. He didn’t have anything to do with the story and in the unofficial rules of good writing (and in life in general, I suppose), you must throw out that which is unnecessary.

But why is Chuuya not mentioned at all?

I think it’s important to note and interesting that I can’t recall it being mentioned in discussions on Wufei that his colony, L5-A0205, was going to be the colony they dropped in the original Operation Meteor.

Let that sink in.

It was Wufei’s home they were going to drop on Earth.

I think this a wildly huge factor in understanding Wufei and his motivations/actions. So let’s get all up in this shit.

(also just an fyi, all of what I say is based off of the english dub at this time, since I’m finding it hard to find subs that don’t feel like they’re dub script subs.)

Hi, first I totally agree with you about kara's hair. As great as it looks, it's impractical lol. 2nd, it's not unrealistic for someone to suddenly and drastically change their minds. I've done it mid first date and I felt horrible but I couldn't change it (and trust me, I tried for weeks). I went from crushing HARD on this guy to realizing I did not want him romantically in the space of about 10 minutes. I see Kara and feel better that I'm not a piece of shit for that. Do you understand?

I understand what you’re saying but that was not the point of my post. Kara drastically changing her mind isn’t a problem in itself, it’s the context in which she changes her mind that is a problem.

1. I understand that in real life, changing your mind like this about a relationship happens. It happens quite a lot. But Supergirl is not reality, it’s a tv show. Tv shows can’t be the same as reality otherwise they’re not interesting anymore and lose their purpose (hell, even reality tv is scripted…). So narratively speaking, building up a romantic relationship for 20 episodes, then cancelling it for NO reason, is bad writing. And the audience feels cheated. They should have at least given Kara a real reason to ditch James other than “i don’t feel like it”. The storylines need to follow some logic, it’s a scripted text brainstormed by several grown people.

2. Kara unexpectedly ditching James was a racist move from the writers and the CW. If James was white, it would have never happened. But between s1 and s2, Supergirl switched from CBS to CW, and the CW is pretty racist. After the switch, Supergirl writers suddenly decided to cancel Karolsen (even though this ship was planned to happen since the beginning) because they felt it was “rushed” (??????) and “unrealistic” (?????) and “they don’t have chemistry” (????????????????????). Which are all the excuses white people love to give when asked why they don’t like an interracial couple. Kara and James took around 20 episodes to get together, Kara and Mon El took only 8 episodes to kiss but yeah no rushing, right ?

I don’t really give 2 fucks about ship wars. But me and other black fans are sick to our stomachs that in fucking 2016, some people still refuse the idea of a white woman dating a black man. That’s some A level racism right there, it’s so obvious the show didn’t even try to hide their racism : after 20 episodes of Kara pining after James, she breaks up with him for no reason, and the next day she meets a white boy who is an asshole to her and oh!!!! they fall in love. Like…… It’s like people in the Star Wars fandom refusing that Finn and Rey might get together, for the sole reason that Finn is black and Rey is white. They’d rather ship her with an asshole like Kylo Ren. A lot of people didn’t want Richonne to happen for the same reason. There is a pattern here we can’t ignore. Kara changing her mind isn’t about her as a person deciding what’s right for herself in terms of romantic relationships… it’s about James being the victim of racist writers. Not to mention that Karolsen aside, he’s been drastically sidelined in the general storylines.

Representation is important. Too often, black men in media are depicted as aggressive, macho and violent. And here we have James, who wears pink shirts tucked into his jeans, who is kind and gentle but no pushover, who is generally liked, who has an artistic profession (he’s a journalist but also a photographer, and seeing black men making art is still very rare in tv shows and movies). Even when he gets angry, he doesn’t become violent or disrespectful, he keeps his calm and never offends people on purpose. And he built this healthy, amazing relationship with Kara. And what did Supergirl writers do ? They decided that he wasn’t good enough to date a white woman and sidelined him and aside from the Guardian storyline, he isn’t seen that much anymore. Supergirl has always been a racist show but this. This. This made me feel like shit for several days, because once again media are telling us that no matter how good you are, if you’re black your rightful spot will be taken by a white person even though they are mediocre (and let’s be real, this Mon El…)

3. Let’s put the disgusting racism aside. Supergirl is a so-called feminist show (well it’s a white feminist show since they don’t care about women of color). But this season, they seem to have forgotten the feminist aspect of their show. They could have given Mon El any personality. Any ! And what did they chose ? To make him an insufferable selfish asshole, and Kara now has to spend her precious time trying to make him a better man even though he treats her and other people like shit. This is the romantic subplot of every bad macho action movie !! Why would they do that to Kara ?? Why would you make her leave a healthy and respectful relationship to make her fall in love with a disrespectful asshole ? They could have given Mon El a better behavior for god’s sake i love Chris Wood but i can’t even stand to look at Mon El because he’s insufferable. Supergirl’s main audience is young girls and rn the show is teaching them that a healthy relationship isn’t as good as investing emotional labor to try and make a better man out of an asshole who is not even nice to you. Well done feminism !! This post sums up very well what i’m trying to say, the most important in it are the tags people added. Read the tags.

Anyway to sum up this long post, i don’t really care about Kara changing her mind, I care about the fact that she changed her mind because the writers of her show are racist and sexist. Now, please read this and think about it, and for the love of god, if after reading this you feel the urge to send me an ask saying something like “But it’s not about race ! Not everything is about race ! Maybe they just thought Mon El was a better fit than James :)” then don’t. Sorry if i come across as snippy, but i just woke up and i’m tired of people treating me and other poc like assholes desperately wanting to see racism everywhere. A lot of people send me messages asking me to explain why some stuff is racist, and when i explain they are like “lol u stupid not everything is about race jeez also i have a black colleague and a black cat so i know what i’m talking about”. Because they never wanted to truly know or learn, they just wanted me to waste my time. Anyway if you’re not this kind of person, feel free to answer to this if you want to.

1) In regards to Elena, I've honestly found her very hard to read the last couple of seasons, like who does she love Damon or Stefan? In the earlier seasons I could understand her POV so well and the significance of the triangle. Extending the love triangle made Elena look terrible and I also felt like Plec and Dries only drew it out for the sake of the drama, and in turn both stelena and delena lost their appeal. Do you think the show will be better next with no love triangle?

part 2) I ship SE, and I’m mad that the writers disrespected their relationship, and made it all about defan.

I don’t think the show will be better with no love triangle. That’s not because I love that damn triangle or because I think the show can’t survive without Elena, because the triangle can burn in hell for all I care and like I said in a previous answer, Elena hasn’t been relevant since the season three finale. I just think it won’t be better because triangle or no triangle, the writing sucks. I don’t know what happened to these people or if it’s maybe simply the CW smelling money, but by now it seems like this group of writers couldn’t put together a decent episode if their life depended on it. They have retconned more than I care to remember and they seem to believe that for a current relationship to work, every previous one needs to be ignored/destroyed. That’s not how that works, you know? If you get a new boyfriend, then you don’t need to say things like “my last boyfriend was such a jerk to me the entire time” and you don’t need to pretend like you never had something special and you don’t need to blab about how you only loved that boyfriend because he made you realize how much you love your sister. It’s okay to start a new relationship with someone and still have fond memories of your previous relationship, otherwise, why where you with your last boyfriend in the first place? TVD doesn’t get that. they think that to prop SC and DE, they need to destroy everything about Stelena and Forwood, or act like it never even happened. That’s such a huge mistake, because we were there, we saw their relationships blossom on screen and we are not stupid. That may easily be what bugs me most of all about TVD nowadays, the disrespect of the writers for their own goddamn audience. They have us to thank for their success, but instead, they act like we’re a bunch of morons who will just accept whatever they try to shove down our throats. It doesn’t work that way. Of course shows that run this long are hard to keep up with, one of my all-time favorite shows is Friends (as I’m sure you all know by now xD) and that show has several mistakes, especially concerning the characters’ age and birthdays, or Barry’s last name that is mentioned three times and three times it’s a different fucking name. xD I mean, obviously mistakes happen and of course the writers can’t remember every little thing they ever wrote, what with all the deleted scenes and improv and last minute changes. But what TVD does, that just blows my mind. You can’t have Stefan say “Tyler was such a jerk to [Caroline] during your entire relationship” and expect us to just go along with that. You can’t have Caroline say “it only took [Stefan] two years to admit hose feelings” and think that we’re all going to nod and think that it did take him a long time, or think that Caroline was waiting around for his confession all this time, while she was asking Tyler to be the love of her life, while she admitted to “kinda sorta” liking Tyler, while she was rolling around with Klaus in the woods. And you can’t fucking have Stefan say that Elena didn’t come into his life to be his soulmate, no, she only came into it to remind him why he loves Damon so much, when we all fucking remember how Damon killed Lexi on Stefan’s birthday and Stefan didn’t kill him because he fucking loved his brother too much. When we all remember how Stefan broke a broom in two and stabbed himself with it to keep himself from hurting the love his life. No. just no. Expecting is to go along with that sort of bullshit is the lowest of the lowest, because it proves nothing other than that these writers have no respect for us. Zero. Nada. Nothing. Niente.

But you are right that the way they handled the love triangle specifically was the downfall of this show. Yes, the writing is terrible and who knows, maybe it would’ve been terrible regardless of how they handled the love triangle, but the way things went down… That sire bond killed the show. Not only did it turn their female lead into an empty shell of herself, it also made it impossible to still root for two of their three main characters (Damon and Elena, obviously), it once again made it seem like the writers blissfully overlook rape and last but not least: once again, “consequence” was made out to be a dirty word. It wasn’t Elena choosing anything, it was Elena forced to be with Damon. That meant that no one could give her a hard time, because no one knew if this was really how she felt or not. And by the time she eventually made that choice herself, everyone was already used to it so they just ignored the fact that she was now willingly screwing their tormenter. Choosing Damon should have alienated her from her friends and family, because that’s what a “consuming love” (something the writers want us to believe is a romantic, positive thing by the way, lol) is. It means that you’re with that person and he’s all you can think about and you breathe him and you drink him and you eat him and you live through him and only him. Choosing Damon should have meant losing her friends and her family, it should have meant an isolated life where he is the center of the universe (something the writers still understood in season three, by the way: this is why when Elena had to make her choice, Stefan was home, with her friends and Jeremy, and Damon was all alone somewhere in a dark storage unit), but for some reason, in season four, the writers chickened out and instead of writing DE the way they should have been, they tried to turn them into Stelena 2.0. Basically, nothing changed for Elena, except for the guy in her bed but that was never what was supposed to happen and it’s not hard to see. They lost touch with their own story to please a group of loud, obnoxious shippers and it’s a damn tragedy (especially because they still think they did a good job, they still think DE is “fiery and passionate” when all they’ve done is turn their characters into mentally unstable people with severe personality disorders, lol). It pisses me off, because I can see how TVD should have been and my god, anon, there was so much potential. It almost hurts to know that all of that has gone to waste.
