We caught a Talib Kweli show tonight in Red Hook Park, Brooklyn. One of my favorite artists and one of Brooklyn’s most talented lyricists. A great live performance, kept the crowd hyped with songs from all of his albums and even covered original songs from the Beatles “All The Lonely People” and the Sugarhill Gang “Rapper’s Delight.” He performs with a DJ and a live band which diversifies his sound and shows his appreciation for all genres. It was cool that he even mentioned Joy Division in his freestyle on stage. And best of all… it was a free show.
