rare words

We rarely talk about the After of it all, and maybe that’s okay. Maybe it’s enough, here and now, to learn each other’s bodies better than our own and to study what the other likes and likes less and perform that subtle choreography (with shaking hands! with bated breath!) while the rest of the world sleeps blissfully. I’m walking back in the sweet cooling of an August night and the sky is bright and glittering when it occurs to me that I might be in deeper than I’d rather be and still I smile about it. Happy love stories are not interesting; I’ll probably write more about it when I’m sadder about it.

redamancy
[red-uh-muhn-see]
—  (noun) Although an obsolete and antiquated word, redamancy brings forth nostalgia of the purity of love’s nature. It is defined as the act of loving the one who loves you, therefore it is a reciprocal affection. It is applicable across all spectrums of love, from friendship, romantic relationships, family bonds, and more. Redamancy’s beauty lies in its rarity and discontinuity, few words in the English vocabulary encompass loving or being loved in return.

aureate [awr-ee-it, -eyt]
—  (adjective) In our list of rare words, aureate is used to describe language. Although we may assume that it is an adjective most applicable to poetry, aureate holds the beauty of the decorativeness we give prose, and overall literature. It is defined by an ornate sense and flowery style found in writing or speaking. Having an aureate style of writing or speaking suggests that you are sentimental, descriptive, and complex.

ambedo n. a kind of melacholic trance in which you become completely absorbed in vivid sensory details—raindrops skittering down a window, tall trees leaning in the wind, clouds of cream swirling in your coffee—which leads to a dawning awareness of the haunting fragility of life.
