rape joke

rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke. rape isn’t a joke.

There’s this new TV show, Jamestown, about women who were shipped to America to marry the new colonists in 1619. Guardian critic Mark Lawson complained it was somehow ~unrealistic to depict 17th century women having “modern” thoughts like… objecting to rape? And making jokes?

This is so stupid, sexist, and shortsighted, FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS:

Listen, this fanbase is like…at least 90% female. And I know that people are all over twitter and even some on here like “If you’re a real ARMY, you will respect the boys’ decision to work with The Chainsmokers.” THIS. IS. BULLSHIT. You are allowed to have an opinion. You are allowed to not like it. You are allowed to not respect the decision. The Chainsmokers are white pig frat boys who refer to women as ‘pussy’ and basically said they only wanted to get famous so they could hook up with hotter girls. They have made jokes about rape and have trash talked a lot of women in music. They are just all around dicks. You can be a real ARMY and love Bangtan more than anything and not respect this decision. When you become a fan of someone, that does not mean that you have to roll with every decision they make. Please do not praise these men because they are working with Bangtan. They do not deserve love from this fanbase. I am not hating on Bangtan and I don’t think they know about all of this, but like I said, I do NOT support this decision. And I am still an ARMY. Period. That’s all I have to say about the matter.

i swear to fuck if i see (1) more post in the dream daddy tag about the game grumps being “generally shitty people” because they’re “transmisogynistic” and “racist” i’m gonna pitch myself off the nearest cliff and take my computer with me to make sure that if by some chance i end up not dying from the fall, my access to tumblr will.

i am so sick of this website and its bullshit. this just in everyone, people aren’t allowed to make mistakes and it’s impossible for people to ever change or grow!!

yes, it’s true they’ve both said their fair share of ignorant things in the past. some have hurt and offended people. but i can guarantee you that it was never their intention to do so and in the years since they’ve started the show they’ve both grown a hell of a lot.

the game grumps are so clearly some of the most genuine and sweet people in existence and it’s fucking laughable to say otherwise. if any of y’all actually took the time to do your research and use your critical thinking skills you would see that. any time people let them know that something they’ve said was ignorant, offensive, or hurtful, they acknowledge what they’ve done wrong, and/or ask to learn more on the subject so that they don’t make the same mistake again, and/or apologize.

on the subject of their “transmisogyny”:

and THIS was after an episode came out where they made rape jokes:

as for “racism” i really have no fucking idea where any of you could be coming from with that bs. i acknowledge they’ve said some iffy stuff in the past, but to say they’re racists? come on.

i won’t deny that the game grumps have said some ignorant things over the years. but all that has SIGNIFICANTLY decreased and they really have grown and learned a lot. to say that they’re horrible people for some of the things they’ve said in the past that for the most part have been owned up to and apologized for is awful and wrong. you don’t have to like them or watch their show or anything, but if you’re gonna call someone out for being terrible people then you should at least be sure of what you’re talking about.

'Game of Thrones' actor apologizes for 'distasteful' rape joke
By ABC News

Jason Momoa is apologizing after an old video surfaced of him making an inappropriate joke about his role on “Game of Thrones.”

The actor, who portrayed Khal Drogo on HBO’s medieval-fantasy drama, was on a panel during the 2011 Comic-Con discussing his participation on the series.

“But as far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that there’s so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape beautiful women,” he said.

The audience immediately expressed shock.

“Next question,” Momoa, 38, deadpanned.

Momoa responded on Instagram on Thursday to backlash over the video, saying he understands why fans are outraged.

“I awoke in Australia to the justified reactions by many people to a distasteful joke I made years ago in Hall H for which I am sorry,” he wrote. “I am still severely disappointed in myself at the insensitivity of my remarks that day. I know my sincerest apology now won’t take away those hurtful words.”

The “Aquaman” actor then added that he knows from the experience of friends and family the torment caused by rape and sexual harassment.

“Rape and sexual harassment can reach anyone and I have seen first hand its painful torment among members of my own family and friends,” he revealed. “I made a truly tasteless comment. It is unacceptable and I sincerely apologize with a heavy heart for the words I said. All apologies, Jason.”

someone: *criticizes su*

fandom: calm down its just a kids show!

someone: okay *criticizes su by comparing it to other children’s cartoons and how they did certain elements better*

fandom: actually no you can’t do tha-

ive literally not seen a single person on my dash mention the bad shit in the new bill wurtz video which meant i had to watch it without any warnings (a friend did warn me after they saw it but it was too late) so anyway if you’re triggered by or otherwise dont want to hear rape mentions and/or jokes dont watch the ‘history of the world i guess’ video because he mentions it 3 times around the middle of the video

EDIT: 15:50 and 17:10 are right before the points where it’s mentioned

Alright, brief trigger warning for a rape joke mention.

Health class right? We’re going through the dating and relationship unit, and this guy - this guy who is a TOTAL asshole starts making all these horrid jokes about rape.

And for background about this absolute moron of a creature: talks over the native students in history class bc he’s “1/17 Cherokee” (???) obviously not, he’s white as hell with brown hair blue eyes. Although he’s a friggin high schooler he’s been known to pull girls hair and laugh about it. He argued that my friend (who is Muslim and wears a hijab) be kicked out of school for having a pocket watch (this was right after the clock “bomb” incident with that elementary (middle school?) kid) and y'all just get the idea, this guy was douchebag supreme and the only ppl who like him were other future alt right douchebags.

So finally he makes a comment and said “you know if girls don’t want to get raped they shouldn’t wear tiny dresses at night. That’s like walking through the ghetto in a KKK hood.”

So me, being the foolish high school freshman Tumblr user with this grand delusion that this couldn’t possibly have any bad consequences for me and that everyone and their mom would start clapping, gets up and walks to this idiots desk. I had had the last straw.

I said “well maybe if you didn’t want to fucking get decked you shouldn’t run your mouth about girls that are “asking to get raped”“ aaaaaaand I decked him. Real hard. Kids in the bad could hear my fist collide with his cheek.

What I though would happen: the class and the teacher would start clapping at my Bravery and Sjw Passion to deck a rape apologist and he would have a talking to after class like in those obviously fake Tumblr stories when they were still a thing.

What actually happened: school police escorted me out of the classroom and I was suspended for a week and had to write an apology letter to this goblin.

Moral of the story: don’t punch people in class. Tumblr sjw lied to you.

Follow up 1 year later: my dad is apparently sitting outside the school with the same police officer bc some kid had slashed one of my tires and he had been stopping by to drop some stuff off in my car. So him and the school officer are out there talking, and officer mentions: "Heisler? Aren’t you the dad of the kid who punched that boy in health class?” And my dad, keeping he’s cool goes “yeah, that was mine.” The officer pauses then tells him, “I couldn’t say this at the time and I shouldn’t say it now so don’t tell anyone but I’m glad that renville kid got what was coming to him.”
