When NPR put up the First Listen album stream of Natasha Khan’s new Album, Haunted Man, I had no idea I’d be listening to it 10 times through over the last couple of days. If you haven’t already check it out don’t dilly dally: do it.
Sometimes it’s nice to know what a person’s favorite track on an album is so I’ll share mine with you. I wanna preface with this, in that any track on The Haunted Man could be anyone’s favorite. There is literally no bad song. This morning however I woke up with a song in my head, and it was the wide spaced-epic-emotion-fountain of a tune, Marilyn. Honestly, I couldn’t decide before. But I love it when the subconcious makes such desicions on my behalf.
Our much loved song Wicked Games transformed into pure distilled air by the lovely Béatrice Martin of Montreal a.k.a. Coeur de Pirate
Ok, covers are usually slowed down acoustic version of these songs in their original glory. But we’ll give it a pass for Martin because she makes the Raizuli feel loved.
