First round of #chemo in #Theory and #RachelComey in black, second round in secondhand gold sequined sweatpants with #uniqlo Breton stripes and inspo tank from my art colleagues at #dixonplace Black sequin turban making feel like a movie star from Dana at #shoemarket More hair in first round. Nars lipstick both days. All I though if what what to wear. It helped ease my anxiety to think about fashion. I have ovarian and uterine primary cancers and the hair loss is such a visual cue if “sick”. Roller coaster of fatigue, brain fog, and emotions. Exhausting to be in so much pain. Today I got dressed up to walk to the corner. Maybe that’s cancer in the New York for you. Cancer competition! Invisible special abilities include anxiety and depression related to sexual assault. Bones screaming is worst side effect. And no interest in sex. And pubes falling out. Well, it’s all kindof bad so if I have energy the thing I do is get dressed up. Want to wear a gown to next chemo.
Rachel Comey’s Spring 2013 runway show seemed a little off-kilter this season with the addition of evening ensembles. Comey is a go-to designer for menswear-inspired looks for the indie-girl who is heading to work or hanging out on the weekend. The decision to add occasion dressing in more feminine silhouettes complete with ruffles and beading seemed to be a bit of a contrast to the boxy tops, oversized jackets, printed skirts and tapered pants she is usually known for. If the evening looks don’t succeed, Comey can always rely on her budding accessories line which included a sunglass collaboration with Prism for this spring.
