quotes about bible

Here’s my (late) tribute to these excellent boys. I’m so proud of them

  • Eyeless Jack: Nice hands, Helen.
  • Helen: Uh...thank you?
  • Eyeless Jack: I bet they'd look better wrapped around my-
  • Judge Angels: BIBLE! WRAPPED AROUND THE BIBLE. PRAISE THE LORD, AMEN.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your HEART and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’“ - Mark 12:30
Think about your relationship with God this way. When you first came to Christ there was no problem in feeling passionate about God. You had a hunger for the word, to be in worship, and to tell others about Christ. You were excited about it and there was a very real passion there! But then as time went by and life presented its many challenges and opportunities, it became easy for other things to become a higher priority. And if we’re more passionate about anything else than our relationship with God, then we need to set our priorities right.
Jesus said, “But I have this against you, that you have left your first love… repent and do the things you did at first…” Revelation 2:4

He’s paying for my mistake. No. He’s paying for all our mistakes.

dont tell me where to find God
because I found Him in muffled laughter in classrooms and I found Him in warm glances exchanged between friends.

dont tell me where to find God
because I found Him in late night texts and I found Him in smoke-filled cafes.

Don’t tell me where to find God
because I found Him in days where jumping off cliffs seemed like the only possible exit and I found Him in unlikely summer clouds.

Don’t tell me where to find God
because I found Him in flawed lyrics and I found Him between narrative plots.

Don’t tell me where to find God
because I found Him in unexpected hugs and I found Him in unlabeled acts of love.

Don’t tell me where to find God
because I found him in the most unlikely places and the most untimely moments.

Don’t tell me where to find God because I know too damn well where to find Him.

I’ll find Him in me and you and in every pebble and star and moon and every abandoned highway and I’ll find Him in every embrace and every breath and I’ll find him in veins and tears and blood scattered over the world and I’ll find Him in morning rain and evening snow and starry skies.

Don’t tell me where to find God
Because He’ll leave clues and hints lying around.

Don’t tell me where to find God
because you denied Him the joy of seeing a stray cat walking voluntarily into His shelter.

Don’t tell me where to find God
Because God knows His way around lost souls and He’ll help me through.

We live in a world of self-deprecation, and while it’s healthy to make fun of ourself from time to time, it bothers me when I see women of all ages belittling their accomplishments because they don’t want to appear boastful or overconfident. You don’t see a lot of guys out here underplaying their strengths or making light of what they’re good at, so why should women?
