Deja que pase lo que tenga que pasar
no podrás evitarlo
deja que se quede
quien se quiera quedar
aunque trates de alejarlo
tal vez no podrás evitarlo
o tal vez sí
deja de pensar que tu felicidad
necesita una compañía
deja la pega o laboro
que no te llena
deja a quien te enferma
deja esa ciudad que no te llena
deja de mirar el celular
esperando que pase la vida
o que el romance te encuentre
deja de esperar el mensaje
deja de esperar dinero
hay tanto por hacer
y sólo se necesita un poco de voluntad

Pablo’s Inferno  (2004)

Pablo’s Inferno is a five-issue indie comic limited series created and produced by Rhode Montijo. The comic owes its title to the first cantica of Dante Alighieri’s Divina Commedia.

The comic follows the story of Pablo, a young boy whose life is ended in an unfortunate hit-and-run accident, ends up in hell and has to traverse the underworld in search of answers. Along the way he meets several colorful characters such as Quetzal, an ancient Aztec god, and El Calambre, the ghost of a once-famous masked wrestler.

Resplendent Quetzals - The Rare Jewel Birds of the World

These splendidly plumaged birds are found in certain areas of Southern Mexico and Central America.

They were sacred to the ancient Maya and Aztec peoples, who considered them “gods of the air” and symbols of goodness and light.

In more recent times, these birds have become tourist attractions and, therefore, hold great economic importance; and are the subject of great cultural pride throughout their native range. Please visit this webpage for photos and information. via Beauty of Birds

It has taken me three trips to Panama to find and photograph this bird! The Resplendent Quetzal, reputed to be the most beautiful and ornate bird in the western hemisphere. The breeding male has gleaming emerald tail feathers that can be more than 65cm long. They are the party streamers of the rainforest.
