A/N: This is a relaxed for fun and feels kind of sort of entry for Pezberry Week day six: Alternate Universe, co-headcanoned with pupofstuff. Referencing the pic above, bold is pupofstuff and italics is me. (Just know we texted this back and forth last week, it’s lazy and meandering, and it also contains a healthy dose of Quani. :D)

The picture of the cats holding paws through cages are pezberry cats.

You just killed my heart.

They came in separately. Santana’s owners had dropped her off because they were moving and couldn’t have pets in their new place. And Rachel had been rescued from an abusive home.

It’s Santana who’s reaching up, trying to get to the scared little kitty she can hear trying to comfort herself by purring.

It takes a while for Rachel to reach her tiny paw, but at some point Rachel slowly starts to push her paw forward and touch little by little.

Santana gamely keeps reaching up, balancing on the cage door. She waits for the little kitty to shuffle forward, purposefully keeping her claws tucked away.

When they are put into a playroom to stretch their legs, they curl up with each other, and Santana will hiss whenever someone tries to separate them.

And she will always groom Rachel thoroughly, purring loudly to help her fall asleep.

And Rachel seems so tiny compared to Santana, and always curls up so much tighter, and when people come by and look at them, Santana will yowl and pace in her cage whenever Rachel gets taken to the room where people meet and hold the animals.

And Rachel will mew pitifully when it’s Santana’s turn, ears down with her face smushed into the cage door in the direction where the room is. Santana always tries to claw her way back into the room, barely paying attention to the humans.

Eventually the staffers figure it out, and then keep them in the same cages, and with a notice that they are only available for adoption together.

Oh, of course, especially after Santana kept on jumping into Rachel’s cage when they were supposed to go back into their own cages.

Lesbian cats are making me emotional.

I was thinking that, if they both got pregnant, they’d have their litters together and co-parent like apparently is very common in cats. But since they’d both be fixed, that wouldn’t happen.

Ugh pezberry kitties!

It’s Dani who adopts them. She’s just gotten a new apartment, and her friends dragged her to the shelter to see if any animals spoke to her. Initially looking at the dogs after looking at the rodents, as she’s more of a dog person, something draws her to the cat section, where she notices the two cats curled up together in the cage nearest the door, the bigger one washing the little one’s head. When Dani kneels down in front of them, Santana calmly watches her, Rachel watching from the safety of Santana’s tail and paws. Santana’s ears flick, and though she gives a soft warning sound when Dani slowly presents the back of her hand to the cage, she doesn’t stop Rachel from just as slowly, hesitantly, sticking her nose through the cage door to sniff her.

Our latest fashionista is Quani, read what she says inspires her…

What inspires you to blog?

Initially my blog was a challenge to document what I wore each weekend (which are my social nights) in an effort to evolve my personal style.  As time has gone on it has become more important to me to encourage and inspire ladies who look like me to recognize that who and what they are is beautiful and the only person that gets to choose how they feel about themselves, is them!

How would you define your personal style?

I would describe my personal style a little prissy, a lot of sassy but most of all comfortable to ME!! It’s all about making what works for you, WERK!

Do you find that you follow fashion trends, or do you play by your own rules?

I have never really been one for fashion trends in fact most of the time I will purposely go in the opposite direction. However as I have gotten older I have more appreciation for trends. I think it is about having a good mixture of trend and unique style.

Items to get, what are you searching for right now?

  • ♥ A GOOD head wrap
  • ♥ Mini Skirts
  • ♥ The perfect little black dress

Are there any colors you tend to shy away from, and if so why?

My first thought would be red but it’s not so much that I shy away from it…I just like to balance it out well with neutral colors

When you hear the term “Black Girl Killing It” what comes to mind?

A woman of color who emits confidence and boldness in every way, down to her attire! I think if you don’t wear something with the right state of thinking, the outfit will in turn wear you. A BGKI never allows that to happen!!

As a child were you always into clothes or did you grow into your own fashion sense?

I have always had my own personal style, it started off a little… all over the place. But it wasn’t until after college (when I could afford the clothes I wanted) that I really took an interest in how to further express myself through fashion.

Do you participate in your local fashion scene?

No, not really. I have a lot of friends who are very fashion savvy and we hang out…lol…but that is as far as it goes.

How does your day to day life factor into your wardrobe choices?

My mood GREATLY affects what I will put on. I am usually waiting around until the last second for inspiration to hit me before I get dressed.

What is your greatest fashion pet peeve?

Ill fitting jeans and no belt. I hate to see a woman stand up and all I see is plumber’s crack! lol. That move right there can mess up a perfectly good outfit. (unless that was her intention…then more power to her.)

Have you ever tried your hand at design or sewing?

When I was in college I use to convert old jeans into skirts and cut up t-shirts for parties for some extra cash. I did pretty well. lol.

Are there any designers that you like to wear or whose clothing stands out with you?

I am a fan of Monif C. dresses. There is something very feminine and inclusive about her clothing. She doesn’t leave out the sexy just because her market is plus size women. I appreciate any designer who understands that Thick Chicks are sexy!

Who are your style icons?

Well…for starters…Ms Piggy…lol…She shuts it down! But i’m also inspired by Tyra Banks, Fluvia Lacerda, Rihanna, and she’s new to it but Amber Riley.

Your five must-haves as a girl:

  • ♥ nude heels
  • ♥ great lipstick (preferably red)
  • ♥ At least one “Freak em” dress
  • ♥ perfect pair of jeans
  • ♥ a favorite nail polish

Quani’s first head wrap

K guys…I must give you the psychological revelation behind it. For quite some time I would NEVER wear a head scarf out of the house…EVER!!My friends and I are guilty of cutting our judgmental eyes at black women whom would dare wear a scarf out of the house…and although I didn’t judge woman who would wear traditional head wraps…I could never see myself doing such. But just this week it hit me…that these ideas were due to conditioning and assimilation. I was told for so long VIA T.V., magazines, peers and otherwise that it was “Ghetto” to leave the house with a scarf on.

** and God forbid I be seen as ghetto **

(sarcastically epiphanizing… and yes I made up that word..)

But it came to me this week…that head dresses, are a part of African and therefore African Amer. culture. and it’s special. There’s so much depth and meaning behind them…yet I shunned the purpose and the history.

So, today when I wrapped my head for the first time…I got this feeling of pride. It was almost like putting on a crown. It’s securing and protective and fashionable and above all it sets me aside… to me it says that I am different. There is NO other culture in this world like mine! There was an awakening.

Now i’m not saying i’m going to rock head wraps every day…but…I will no longer be fearful of the judgement I always assumed i’d receive…nor will I be so quick to pass judgement on another sister for embracing her own roots.

That is all.

P.S. I will be uploading my first video later…a Haul of my Thrifting finds this week. Wish me luck..that I won’t be a nervous wreck.

P.P.S. I still think that woman should not be leaving the house in satin bonnets, sleeping scarves and shower caps….that’s just No Bueno!!

anonymous asked:

Would you do a quinn/dani one shit?

The first time Quinn set eyes on Dani, that was it. Dani was everything Quinn didn’t know she wanted, and everything Quinn didn’t know she needed.

Dani, for her part, almost spat up the sip of vodka and Nos she’d just taken a sip of. “Who’s that?” she gasped as soon as her airway was clear, hand grasping at Rachel’s side.

“Who?” Looking blindly around the room, Rachel had annoyingly pointed at every girl that was not the blonde Dani had been looking at, “Her? Her? Or, wait, her?”

“No! No. Rachel.” Shaking Rachel, Dani snatched her hand up, pointing at Quinn, “Her.”

Rachel blinked. “Quinn? I went to school with her.”

Quinn. So that was the Quinn Rachel and Santana had talked about. Dani mouthed the name. Quinn. Such a pretty, beautiful name. She turned to Rachel. “Introduce us.”

Staring at her, finally smiling as her drunken mind caught up with her, Rachel nodded. “Oh-kay,” she grinned, grabbing Dani’s hand to pull her forward, “Let me introduce you to Quinn…”

Swallowing, making sure her hair was smoothed down as Rachel pulled her forward, Dani made sure her shirt was tugged down as well, her jeans perfectly wrapped around her thighs and waist. Quinn was… She made Dani want to make sure she was as presentable as she could be, no matter Dani’s already high confidence.

"Quinn!” Rachel greeted, letting go of Dani’s hand as soon as they were within polite distance, “I want to, here, this is my co-worker, Dani.”

Hazel eyes, alight with interest that Dani knew enough about normal female responses to recognize, swept from Rachel to her. The blonde’s lips turned up. “Dani? Hi.” She put out her hand, “I’ve heard a lot about you.”

Dani wrapped her hand in hers. “It’s all good, I hope,” she smiled, stepping closer, letting Rachel slip away to go meet back up with Santana, “Because believe me, I’ve only heard good things about you.” Her fingers tightened around the blonde’s, and she raised her chin, smiling as she met Quinn’s gaze outright, mimicking her interest right back at her, “Good, good, intriguing things.”
