Taking its name from one of the longest living trees in the Arizona desert, the 129,000-acre Ironwood Forest National Monument is a true Sonoran Desert showcase. 🌵 Keeping company with the ironwood trees are mesquite, palo verde, creosote, and saguaro – blanketing the monument floor beneath rugged mountain ranges named Silver Bell, Waterman and Sawtooth. In between, desert valleys lay quietly to complete the setting. The national monument also contains habitat for the cactus ferruginous pygmy owl and desert bighorn sheep dwelling, which makes hiking, wildlife watching and photography favorite activities in this desert jewel. Look at these four brand new stickers I brought back with me from Emerald City Comic Con last weekend! 🌈🌈 I love how they turned out and I’m trying not to stick them all over my stuff lol 😜 If you want your own then you are in luck! 😀 I am putting these babies up on thecamillastore.etsy.com! 💻💕
PS! The lovebird and owl are nearly life size!! 🐦🦉 I should know since I grew up around Pygmy owls and two peach faced lovebirds! 😁💞
This is by far the smallest species of owl I’ve seen before! These little guys take a size 2 band– which is the same that many tanagers take. Don’t be deceived by the cute face and teensy body, though; pygmy or not, these owls can really pack a punch with their bill and talons.
