Title: Thanks for the Memories

Requested by anonymous:

basically I jus thought for a Thomas one, maybe after he stung by the griever he realises he remembers you cause you two dated. You both fancy each other in the maze&he doesn’t tell you what he now knows incase it freaks you out but later they kiss and everything comes back to her too? And then it’s like a fluffy cuddly reunion or something please?

A/N: In third person as well because that’d make it easier to see both of their points of view. I hope you like my first Thomas imagine! :D Also, since lately I’ve been listening to a lot of FOB, I had the brilliant idea to name this one like that because the title of the song matched the imagine and it’s awesome :P

Y/N was worried sick about Thomas. How could he have been so stupid to let a Griever sting him? She was just grateful that they gave him the Serum instantly.

He was going through the Changing, and the little she saw of it wasn’t pleasant. Still, no one would let her in to see Thomas no matter how often she asked or how desesperate she was to see him.

She was afraid that the Changing would… well, change him. That the old Thomas she cared for so much disappeared and a new Thomas appeared. A completely different Thomas who treated her differently.

As she sat in the steps of the Homestead, she saw Chuck walking out of the room and quickly stood up.

“Chuck! How is he?”

The kid just sighed and shrugged. That couldn’t be good.

The girl took a deep breath and opened the door to the room Thomas was resting and recovering in.

Newt soon noticed her and rushed to the door to block her way.

“For the last bugging time, Y/N ” He warned her sharply. “You can’t bloody see Tommy yet!”

Him being so strong, Newt pushed her out of the room and slammed the door.

She grunted in annoyance and plonked herself down on the steps again.

Images flashed through Thomas’ mind. His father, his mother, a strange virus, a destroyed and scorched world, and a girl. That girl.

Finally returning to the Glade, he forced his eyes open and sat up.

“He’s awake!” Chuck yelled, making Thomas’ head hurt.

“Chuck, call Alby and Newt” He asked him, and the kid nodded and headed to the door. “Wait!”

“What?” The chubby boy stopped in his tracks and looked at his friend with concern.

“Where’s Y/N ?”

Chuck’s smile appeared on his face again as it lit up.

“She’s probably outside waiting. She hasn’t moved ever since you were stung” Chuck then ran off to tell everyone Thomas was finally awake.

Still feeling a little weak, the boy exited the room.

He found Y/N asleep, resting against the wall while sitting in the steps.

“I remember you, that’s for sure…” Thomas whispered to himself as he kneeled down next to his female friend and smiled watching how she slept. “ Y/N ”

The girl slightly stirred in her sleep, but didn’t wake up.

“ Y/N !” He insisted, shaking her.

Y/N finally woke up and blinked a few times until she realized what was happening.

“Thomas?” She groggily asked, rubbing her eyes.

He smiled a little.

“Thomas!” Once she finally realized, she threw her arms around him and held him as tight as she could. “Holy klunk! Don’t ever scare me like that!”

And Thomas hugged her back. He couldn’t have imagined a better welcoming after he went through the Changing.

Thomas couldn’t stop thinking about her. He had seen her during the Changing.

They used to be together before they were thrown into the Glade. Everything else was blurry, but the memories that included her were clear as water.

He remembered how they were childhood friends and started dating when they grew up. The way she would always hide her face in his shoulder whenever she was embarrassed. The habit of playing with her hair when she was nervous that she carried on to the Glade.

Thomas, overall, remembered the way she made him feel. Even just before WICKED found them, he was happy until the moment they took her away from him. That exact moment when their locked hands parted from each other.

And now that they were back together, he hesitated to say all these memories aloud. It would probably be too much for her to handle.

Even if she believed him, it would scare her away and she would probably never speak to him again. And he wouldn’t be able to take that.

“Are you feeling better?” Her sweet voice shook him from his thoughts.

“A little” Thomas’ eyes looked around the Glade briefly, not really watching it. His memories still haunted him.

“Do you want to talk about the Changing?” She offered, sensing how traumatic it should have been for him.

“Not really, no” Thomas shook his head, so she just nodded.

“It’s fine” She rested her head on his shoulder and sighed. “I’m just so glad that you’re okay”

Thomas closed his eyes as he embraced the feeling of belonging somewhere. To her.

Feeling that same feeling he now knew he had felt before.

They were sitting outside, enjoying the peace that the silence of the night brought to the Glade. Thomas couldn’t stop watching Y/N as she smiled while watching the stars. Those feelings wouldn’t leave him.

“Why are you staring at me?” She snapped, her grin growing wider.

“Um…” He didn’t think she noticed his stare, he figured she was far too lost in her little own world.

“What are you thinking?” She encouraged him, turning her head to look at him.

“I was just thinking how glad I was to see you when I woke up” Thomas explained, and it wasn’t a lie.

“Well, I was glad that you woke up” Y/N shrugged.

Thomas bit his lower lip as he leaned in closer. He still didn’t want to tell her about their past, but if he had to be with her and not kiss her… That would be too much for him.

Their lips sweetly met each other and everything felt magical. Like suddenly they weren’t in the Glade, like they were in Heaven.

The girl suddenly pulled away with a gasp, her hands covering her mouth in realization.

“Thomas…” Her voice cracked as her eyes filled with unshed tears. “I remember…”

Thomas was astonished and yet he knew what she meant. The kiss had triggered something that had brought all the memories about them back.

And he just smiled, his eyes equally watery.

“ Y/N ” He said back, tasting the sound of her name on his lips.

Like she had done before, she threw her arms around him.

But now it was different. She had found something she had lost. Something she didn’t know she lost. Or someone. Y/N got her Thomas back.

Their feelings were so strong that their tight hug could hardly express them.

Still, he cupped her head towards his chest as he engulfed her in a loving embrace that he was not willing to let go of.
