Lance: DAMN IT!

Waiting

Draco was tired of waiting.

He came to the conclusion that waiting was the biggest waste one could do with their life.

And he had wasted a lot of his life already.

He had waited for his father to acknowledge him, to show him he was proud of his son.

He had waited for his mother to stand up to his father, whenever he had talked her down, whenever he had treated her like less than his wife.

He had waited for his friends to come to his rescue when he had needed them most, to save him from himself.

And he had waited for the stupid prat to notice him. Really notice him. To look beyond the petty insults and his sneering.

For years Draco had been waiting.

He had waited in vain. But not anymore.

Draco was sick of waiting.

What had he even waited for? For him to come to the right conclusion, when Draco hid his true intentions so well? For him to realise what was really going on?

He probably would have to wait forever.

No. He would have to take matters into his own hands. And whyever should he not?

Yes, it was time to act.

Draco focused on the mop of black hair across the Great Hall.

He was sick of waiting.

He got up, marched over to the Gryffindor table and grabbed Potter by his robes. Without waiting for his reaction, Draco started dragging him out of his seat.

There was a yelp and shouts of protest, but Draco didn’t care.

He was so sick of waiting.

“Malfoy, what are you doing?” Potter shouted, shoving at Draco’s hands.

Draco ignored him and dragged him out of the Great Hall.

He could hear Weasley and Granger shout something at him. He heard footsteps behind him, indicating that several people were following him. Potter was still trying to get out of his grip.

Draco had wanted to find a more secluded place to do what he wanted to do next, but when the shouts behind him only got louder, he turned around and glared at them.

“You want to watch? FINE! I don’t even care anymore!”

He tightened his grip on Potter’s robes as he pulled him towards him forcefully.

Because he was so tired of waiting.

His mouth crashed with Potter’s and suddenly everything went silent.

Draco had thought it would be rougher, that Potter would try to fight him more. Apparently he was just shocked. He stiffened as Draco moved his lips against the other boy’s. He buried his hands in his hair like he had dreamed of so many times.

He had waited for this so long. This was it.

Or was it?

Draco suddenly noticed Potter moving and braced himself to be pushed away at any second. Instead, tentative fingers curled around his hips to pull him closer.

Draco was sure there were gasps and murmuring, but he didn’t hear any of it.

His whole mind, his whole body was so consumed by Potter. Potter, who was kissing him back.

Yes. This was what he had been waiting for all this time.

If only he had stopped waiting sooner.

How to Kill Feelings of Inadequacy

1. Choose to like, love, value, and believe in yourself. Choose to be your greatest ally – and the best friend you could have.

2. Ask a good friend if they’ll tell you what they like about you most. Then believe what they are saying – don’t just push their words aside.

3. Commit to discovering what you’re good at and enjoy, then invest time in developing those attributes and traits.

4. Don’t exalt others’ gifts as if they matter more than yours. Every talent is important. Don’t right off your personal strengths.

5. Learn to show yourself compassion when you struggle or you fail. And remember “you are human” - so you’re going to make mistakes.

6. Notice ways that you are growing … ways you’re changing over time. Give yourself some credit for this – you are different from before.

1. Wake up early and make a list for the day. You have so much you want to accomplish and you tend to shoot towards the stars only to forget which one you wanted and fall back down with only stardust to show for it.
2. Go for a run at night. I know you have a special relationship with the dark, you hate how it stops you from seeing what’s in front of you, but then again it’s the thrill of unknown that makes you pick up your stride and push harder.

3. Pick up a book. Finish it. I know it’s hard, the characters are always doing so much more than you and that makes you restless, you want to experience life like them. You crave experiences. But finishing anything is an experience in itself too.

4. Clean your goddamn room. Right now. We both know clarity is something you have been lacking lately. Take a day to organize all the thoughts that burst and streak like July fireworks in your head into sticks of dynamite you can use to set the world ablaze. Folding a couple pairs of socks wouldn’t hurt either.

5. Lastly and most importantly, love yourself; no one else is going to do it as hard as you do.

Exercises for weight loss

Exercise is extremely important when it comes to keeping healthy and losing weight. For adults it is suggested that you should do at least 1 hour of exercise per day.

1. Cardio

-Swimming provides a great total body workout, while burning a high number of calories (around 600 calories per hour). The common freestyle stroke works well for most people, but using a variety of strokes places emphasis on different muscle groups - the change of intensity will burn more calories.

-Running is a good way to lose body fat as well as improving your fitness. Running burns around 600 calories per hour! It is recommended for beginners that you run at least 3 times a week for around 20-30 minutes per session.

-Cycling involves the same muscles as running, but has the advantage of lower impact of injuries, therefore making it ideal for everyone. Cycling also burns around 600 calories a per hour!

2. Working out at home

You can also work out at home if you feel more comfortable rather than going to a gym. You don’t necessarily need weights but it can be more beneficial to help tone up faster (Bottles of water or cans of beans can be just as good!!)

-15 sit-ups
-20 squats
-30 second plank
-20 walking lunges (10 each leg)
-10 push ups

-Repeat this 3 times.

-Each day try and increase the number of reps you’re doing, for example after 2 days try and do 20 sit-ups, 30 squats and so on.

-Take at least 1 rest day per week!

Remember it’s important to do stretches before and after your workout to reduce muscle pain.
