This intoxicating fragrance
is inspired by the Gaelic celebration of Samhain, the fall festival marking the
end of the harvest season and the beginning of the dark winter. Samhain was
regarded as a time when the ‘doorways’ to the Otherworld opened, allowing
supernatural beings and the souls of the dead to come into our world, bearing
witness as a festival for the dead.
Fragrance - Rich spices of
cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove mixed with newly harvested fall pumpkins
creates the familial scent of home-cooked pumpkin pies. Top notes of vanilla
and creamy marshmallow fluff create a decadent sweetness that is enriched with
the warm burning sensation of smoky midnight bonfires and oak-cured bourbon that you
can almost taste upon your tongue with one sniff. Hidden notes of smooth black leather and black twisting tendrils and vines of a midnight forest add a haunting element to this seasonal elixir. Forget pumpkin spice lattes!
Get drunk upon the dark spiced sweetness of Samhain!
Key notes - pumpkin pie,
pumpkin spice, vanilla, marshmallow, bourbon, bonfire, black vines and leather
2 cups vanilla ice cream ½ cup milk ¼ cup cream or half and half 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 2/3 cup pureed pumpkin ½ tablespoon pumpkin pie spice 1/3 cup graham cracker crumbs 2-3 ounces of bourbon frosting + sprinkles (or cinnamon sugar) for glasses
Add all ingredients to a blender and mix until combined. Rim glasses with a light coating of frosting then dip in sprinkles. Pour in shake and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Top with whipped cream if desired. Serve!
