A rare Puma GTE, still running strong. Puma was a manufacturer that made this sporty looking car from fiber glass, that had a VW Beetle base and engines. This particular model had the 1600 aircooled VW boxer engine with double carbs and had as option 3 stages of tunning, making the car a true sports car in the 70’s, differently from the VW SP2 that was a bit slow. Found in São Paulo, June 2014.
Puma GT, 1967/1970. Malzoni’s DKW GT morphed into the Puma, initially with a DKW engine but then, after being taken over by Volkswagen’s Brazilian subsidiary, with a 1.5 litre VW flat 4. The design of the car also changed, in 1970 when the Puma was restyled to resemble a miniaturised Lamborghini Miura.
