What Lays Beneath, 2011
Single-channel video projection, glycerin soap, resin, monofilament line; dimensions variable
Courtesy of Galerie Anita Beckers, Booth B-203 What Lays Beneath is a video, sound, and soap installation dealing with the current state of affairs in the Middle East, the constant turmoil and everlasting spectacle of war. The presence of conflict is eminent. Animals become metaphors for what is happening below. Civilians have turned into predators, acting on their primal instinct to survive. When once they were the hunted, now they have become the hunters, going after mechanical beasts.
