Can you point me the way to any good really weird Tolkien art. Silmarillion, LOTR, something where the ??? is really strong, but in a good way.
Hm, idk if I have GREAT recs for this, or nothing you’re not likely to have already seen. @tolrone does some cool/weird/shapesy stuff as well as more standard painterly portraiture, @melkomelko just has some really charming b&w + fashion + alive but flatlining elves, @albuum does a lot of neat background noldor/elves interacting with mundane environments in ways I don’t often see, also I always get the impression that they’re pushing themselves re: anatomy and movement and composition! … uhhh, go to @croclock for dynamic poses, symbolic creepiness, and neglected characters, @eehn is of course king of simplified lighting and hot off-kilter palettes and shapes, i LOVE @chechula and @s-u-w-i’s lines and character design and …cross-hatching? just plain hatching-hatching? whatever, you know, liney shading, fuck off. @turndecassette hasn’t drawn THAT much silm stuff but all of it is literally my favorite silm art that has ever been drawn, and also, it’s kinda odd. I mean clean and classically beautiful and also, “This adventure takes place on the moon, and under the sea. The moon is under the sea.”
Hi! (please forgive me if a question similar has already been asked and I didn't see it) In a few months volleyball season is starting up and I want to build up my arm strength so that I can serve faster and harder. I don't really know what exercises works best to build up the muscle in my arm, so do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance 😄
Do you think doing an Upper body front and back day, then core and legs day and alternating with that routine would give me results, or is the push day, pull day, core day, leg day more practical for results?
You can do whatever fits your schedule :) if 3 days a week is better go for it and mix it up if you choose as long as you give yourself time to rest between the same muscle groups… I’m actually on a new protocol rn where I’m doing 2 upper body days a week and 2 leg days because I want to improve my leg gains 😊
this one is !! just amazing!! there’s a brief nsfw implied secition but i can overlook that bc the writing is beautiful, it the does enemies to friends to lovers trope and the pining trope justice.. it’s just really beautiful as a whole
ok. i have a lot of feelings about this fic. i read it in one sitting and it left me sOBBING and completely reevaluating my life, it was just.. so soft? aaa i don’t know how to describe it but it’s one of my favourites, anon.
this fic is completed now, but every time it updated i was… over the mOOn ok?? the chemistry between the characters is.. incredible.. it was just so fun and raw and wONDERFUL?? it made me want to write again !!!
vvvvv good im !!!! listen, i’m going through my bookmarks and clicked on this one to refresh my memory and now i’m rereading the entire thing, so that should sTRONGLY indicate that it’s Good. read for Ultimate Pining
see,, i think i know what pining is and then this fic!!! just comes and blows it right out of the water!! i generally tend to read au fics more, but this is canon compliant and sO. GOOD. also as a sidenote i love the characters so much
this is one of my favourites, partially because of the setting, partially because of the writing itself, and mostly because i loved the character portrayals. they were just.. teenagers!! they were complex and silly and i loved them!! there was something about this that just,, resonated with me. it was really, really lovely
Bucky! (or Mod Hell, whichever works best) I'm starting swing in my dance class and I have the choice of being the guy or girl. I'm really excited but I don't know which one is more fun?
if you get to pick, be both! but honestly it’s gonna depend on what kind of swing you’re doing. if it’s something with a lot of lifts, dancing the male part is gonna take a lot of strength, and being physically larger than your partner helps. if you’re dancing female, you’ll still need to be strong but it’s more about core strength as opposed to lifting strength. often getting lifted can be kinda scary–youre trusting someone else to not drop you, so that may factor in. becca and i used to make skinny stevie help us practice lifts, and while i never dropped becca, i may have tossed stevie a few times. but only when he was being extra dumb.
if youre not in a style with a lot of lifts, then go with what seems more fun! guys get to lead and have to have the confidence in themselves to do so, but girls get to do lots of spins, and tend to get flashier moves. plus they get skirts, which always seemed more fun to dance in than pants. i guess the trade-off for swooshy skirts is having to dance in heels. according to most women who have to wear them a lot, heels are the devil’s footwear.
which is why i generally stick to my combat boots.
