To see how many obsessed Psyclone nine/ Nero Bellum fans there are, and to think that i just spent the last two weeks in a van with him and a bunch of other rad musicians, and more so at the fact that he made us all pasta O__o
Name: Aleksander (Sascha) Age: 18 Country: Germany
Hello out there! Since I never wrote something like that I might appear a little clumpsy but I’m pretty sure ya guys will be able to ignore that. Let’s begin: I’m an average student from Germany and – as you see – also know a little english, but since I’m more interested in science and art my language skills already end there. But I think it could be interesting to learn at least a little bit of another language on my own to find out if I might have more fun to study when it’s not related to school. At the moment I’m close to master the sync/synchron 4-ball-juggling, practice e-bass (I’m more or less absolutely new to the whole thing and terrible with rhythm + can’t even read notes but I don’t give a fuck and try it anyways) and training for this falls Though Mudder. So by now you also know about me that I’m a juggler, bass-player and exercise addicted somewhat. Just to sum that up. The music I listen too is a little different from what I have to play for practice atm (oldschool rock and medieval stuff mostly) since I listen to Industrial, Dark Rock, Metal, Dark Wave, Neue Deutsche Härte ( like Rammstein for example) and okay also Medieval and a bit Electro/Rap-related things. Also Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and The Smiths because I grew up with it. But to name a few other bands/people: Lord of the Lost, Psyclon Nine, Goethes Erben, Santa Hates You, Powerwolf, Die Antwoord, Wizo, Amduscia, Agonize, Hollywood Undead, Solar Fake, Dave Brown/Boyinaband… and so on for about five minutes or something when I’ve got the time to remember everyone. I’m some kind of introvert-extrovert switcher (INTP-A mostly, may that changed?) and tend to analyze things a lot instead of just starting random fangirling which I mostly don’t really get but I’m okay with it if it’s also possible to talk about something else. Even if I might sound weird now I don’t really like watching series. I’m just too unmotivated to watch something while I could find a better ending just by daydreaming a little bit. May that’s why I just watch Sherlock because I’m able to keep up with that one. Movies and books are more likely my kind of thing. I prefer scifi-themed ones, like District Nine or A.I. and am reading Metro 2033 at the moment (along with The Devil On The Road). That’s it I guess, may ya wanna know more or discuss about books/music/whatever to start a conversation, I’m also okay with everything else, no matter if random small talk or oh-so-deep philosophy. I don’t have a problem with new topics but might have to do some research from time to time. But if you’re okay with that everything will be fine!
Preferences: I don’t care about your age/gender/sexuality and so on, I mean gosh this isn’t a dating side. Just be tolerant and open-minded, I won’t waste my time with racists or LGBT*-phobics.
nero_bellum_official: Very nice photo from the @psyclonnine 10 Years ov Infektion performance in San Francisco. It’s always quite interesting when revisiting songs that I wrote in my bedroom as a teenager. I had released a full length album and performed overseas prior to knowing that I could use a computer to compose electronic music.
The sun is setting cool again. and I’m trying to remember when but it makes me dizzy. and I’m sweating, and breathing, and staring and thinking and sinking deeper and it’s almost like I’m swimming. Seems like I’ve been here before.
2. Tiamat - Whores of Babylon
Cling, cling shattered nerves To the queen you did adore Has turned to stiff ebonite cures In scarlet waves on distant shore Everything they do and say Might even fool a clever mind Just won’t forget their price to pay As silk betrays and truth unwinds
3. Mastodon - Curl of the Burl
I killed a man ‘cos he killed my goat I put my hands around his throat He tried to reason with the sky and the clouds But it didn’t matter, 'cause they can’t hear a sound
Splinters in my skin, just like needles and pins I cut through the pine, love the feeling it gives Been out here for days running through these trees I’m using my hands, cuttin’ through the disease
4. Psyclon Nine - Parasitic
Disciples of the fallen and the heretic will rise Narcissistic nation Severed tongues of blind dictation The serpent spoke this unto me through gilded light and lunacy Taste the fury That feed the devils inside Fueled by torment, Sin, sex, sickness and pride
5. Aktivehate - Animality
For a pound of flesh we fight Humanity’s fragile ropes No longer seem so tight
Take a bite out of me Assimilate this mere flesh you see One and all mere fiends With ends that justify the means
6. The Hollow - A Perfect Circle
Run him like a blade To and through the heart No conscience One Motive Cater to the hollow
Screaming feed me here Fill me up again Temporarily pacifying So grow.
–STAINED AND CHAINED
7. Bleed - Meshuggah
My crimson liquid so frantically spilled the ruby fluid of life unleashed
Ripples ascend to the surface of my eyes Their red pens drawing at random, at will A myriad pains begotten in their wake the bastard spawn of a mutinous self
The regurgitation of my micro nemesis salivating red at the prospect of my ruin, my doom
Heed - it commands, heed my will Bleed - it says, bleed you will
8. Samael - Blood Ritual
Now I will be them and they will be mine And we’ll be one above your god
My spirit has dived into the infernal storm of evil My soul is forever tormented Take advantage of this jouvencal fluid Deliver your soul from claws of ignorance
The caress of the blade on his skin Is waking up my old cruel dreams
Let your mind be impregnated By this mad attraction
9. Herbst9 - The Gods Are Small Birds but I Am The Falcon
Quite interesting: while many won’t consider me “goth” (not that I care, or think anything of these definitions) as I dislike 80s music and post punk, the scene here, when I first got into this world wasn’t about that music AT ALL.
It was always Industrial, Dark Electro and EBM/Synthpop.
Our “role models” were bands like Psyclon Nine, Noisuf-X, Suicide Commando, Miss Construction, Combichrist, Grendel, Angelspit etc.
We had huge parties with over 200 people fully dressed and going crazy (for a country like Israel -that’s a whole lot of people).
For YEARS that was my definition of “goth”. Those people were the goths, not post punk or 80s.
Hell - coming from here I didn’t even know those were the roots and the general definition of this scene until just a few years ago.
Guess what though?
I didn’t care. None of us did.
I finally found something I felt a part of. Somewhere I finally felt I somewhat belonged to.
This subculture is SO vast and has so many sub-sub cultures in it that the desperate need to hold on to that definition just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Who cares what started this?
Like any subculture - it evolved and will continue doing so.
Because guess what? If this subculture ceases to evolve - it will cease to exist.
You get bored listening and re-doing the same things over and over again. That’s natural.
Allow for progression, allow for evolution, embrace those new forms.
So yep. I don’t like 80s music or post punk. It will never truly mean something to me. I didn’t experience those years.
So yeah. “Goth”, to me, is industrial, with deep voices or distorted voices infecting my mind and pumping into my veins.
Its symphonic metal (like Epica, After Forever or even Evanescence).
Those are the roots of MY definition of goth, and you have no hold on my mind.
Love and respect all, show true individualism but also keep your mind forever open and accepting - THAT is what “goth” is for me.
And if that’s not what it is to you - who am I to judge.

I recommend listening to this artist. She is so underestimated on the internet, it’s unbelievable! I would even concider her a darker version of Nicole Dollanganger and it’s literally the most beautiful clash between great bass lines and industrial sounds, that reminds me slightly of Psyclon Nine. Her music is a completely new genre of dark tunes, that totally sucks you in and you cannot help but just feel so enchanted by her dark poetry and her beautiful voice, that lingers in so many different pitches. - And along with the feelings that she puts into the music, is just so mysterious and dark. Please, do yourself a favor and check her out!!
