The Writer’s Guild is doing an AU Day, where we’re all writing AU oneshots. This is my fic, my AU being if the Demogorgon had never taken Will, and he instead was the person who found Eleven. Be sure to check out everyone else’s fics!
On the night of November 6th, 1983, Will Byers biked home from Mike’s house to find both his mother and brother were still at work. He had already eaten dinner at the Wheeler’s and it was getting late for a school night, so Will peacefully went off to sleep.
The next day was fairly normal. Jonathan had forgotten to wake him up, so he didn’t have time to study for the pop quiz he knew Gursky was going to give him. So he met Dustin outside his house, and together they biked over to the end of the cul-de-sac Lucas and Mike lived in.
They arrived at school just in time for Troy and James to find them, but that memory quickly blew away when at the end of their first period science class, Mr. Clarke had told the boys that the new Heathkit Ham Shack for the AV Club had arrived. They spent all of lunch that day in the AV room, desperately hoping for someone from Australia to answer their calls, but to no avail.
They picked up some other AV Club from another school, and even a radio all the way in New York, but besides that and the concerning amount of static coming through, no one else answered. They would have to wait for another day to contact Australia.
After school ended, they headed over to Mike’s house to finish the campaign from the day before, and though Mike swore to his mother it would only last another twenty minutes, the boys were still there for several hours before the game ended. Despite Will’s fireball not working against the Demogorgon, Dustin was able to bring up some good defense that saved them all, and together they were able to defeat the monster.
All in all, it was a fairly ordinary day for Will. He didn’t have the slightest reason to suspect anything extraordinary to come from his bike ride home, why would he?
As a bonus to the movie novel, I’m
translating the bonus track of Utopia Hound novel. I’m mainly interested in
Kougami and Akane’s characters and, considering the fact that we don’t know
much about Kougami’s escape, except for some news written in the movie book and
rumors on the net, I’ve decided to search by myself on Utopia Hound and here I
have found interesting things. This book is mainly focused on Kougami. I read a
short summary of it in the past, but nothing too precise. I have never been
satisfied by second hand informations, so here’s the story.
Utopia Hound Bonus Track in divided
in 11 parts. Part 1 and 2 are set just after Makishima’s killing, and part 2
also contains the last conversation between Kougami and Akane (I thought it was
in the second book of Psycho Pass but I was wrong).
I liked it very much not for the
dialogue itself (that we know it well), but for the interlines in the
conversation. From part 3 and on, Kougami escapes to China, he meets a man
named Simon, he fights (against who I still don’t know)…..Anyway, I’m going to
translate these parts in the next weeks.
Just the last note: if you wanna
know something more about the translation, ask for details or if there’s
something you don’t understand, I’m here, just ask!
we’ve always been city girls, me and my cousin rosalind. but when it came time for her to escape my psycho dad, I didn’t even consider not going with her. what, like I was just gonna let my best friend run off by herself? the three of us packed up the car, pointed it away from the city, and drove.
after a few weeks in the foothills, you’d never have guessed we went to arden in exile– we were having too much fun.
that’s the thing about my cousin rosalind, or ganymede, or however you know her: nothing keeps her down long. there’s no such thing as banishment because, when you live like she does, everywhere is home.
reimagine The Iron Giant movie as Tiny Tina wandering away from her hideout to explore and she stumbles upon a larger-than-average psycho struggling to escape from some down powerlines. Using the off-switch she saves him, and the next morning that same psycho follows her to her hideout to thank her for her gratitude; which is just him loudly screaming “THE MEATMAN HAS BEEN SPARED”
