Villain Quoter Problems: When I search for “Sauron” (which is roughly twice as much as you might think I do), I sometimes have to clarify that I’m searching for THE Lord of the Rings and not a anthropomorphic-pteranodon mutant (whom I think is a pretty good character [the animated series did him right]). Actually, this shouldn’t be a problem, since Tolkien, whose gift for villain nomenclature is unrivaled, gave his Dark Lord a lovely menagerie of names: Annatar, Lord of Gifts; Gorthaur, the Cruel; and Mairon (Maiar name used before his corruption via Melkor).
I, of course, did not create the above image. .
PS - “In all the deeds of Melkor the Morgoth upon Arda, in his vast works and in the deceits of his cunning, Sauron had a part, and was only less evil than his master in that for long he served another and not himself.” -The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien (Ed. Christopher Tolkien)
