Part 1 of 2
(Part 2 will be posted at 9pm EST)
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. - Proverbs 13:20
My dear sister,
This week, we have been focusing on keeping Christ at the center of our relationships, and today I just want to encourage you Even if it’s just one person, embrace the wise relationships in your life. Whether it be your mother, a mentor, a best friend—God put that person in your life for a reason. Whatever things you are worried about in life right now, don’t be afraid to ask this person to pray with you and seek wise counsel from them! If you don’t have this person in your life, get involved in a bible teaching community in your area where you can began to walk with those who are wise.
Let these people be the ones you spend the most time and build bonds with! Also, if you’re single and you desire this in a relationship, the more you put yourself in a place where you are around likeminded people the more you will attract that! Don’t allow yourself to spend all of your time with people who are headed in the opposite direction. Be a companion of those who are encouraging you to move forward!
Biblical context + further reading: Proverbs 13, 2:20, 15:31
A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.
The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge,
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
The eyes of the Lord are everywhere,
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
