Black Friday Prejudice

Today I was out with my parents Black Friday shopping. I was talking in Spanish with my mom about what to get from my step-dad cause he wanted a fishing rod. He was standing right next to us so we didn’t want him to know (he’s Native American btw). And this man passes us by and says, “Speak English we’re in America.” This pissed me off so much. For one there isn’t a national language in America for one reason, if there were it would be of the many Native American languages that are spoken because, news flash they were here first. Secondly’ because there isn’t a set language I can damn well speak que yo queiro. I’m Puerto Rican and I’m happy of my ethnicity and if me speaking the language of my forefathers bothers you get over it. I speak what I want not want you think I should.
