Fire was the most beautiful predator of all.
The multicoloured inferno inhaling it’s victims so effortlessly, leaving their loved ones behind like the black ash sitting patiently on the rubble. Smoke enveloped the cold sky outside, the orange glimmer spreading rapidly.
“Please…” You begged as Jimin held your arms behind your trembling frame. “Put the fire out! Please, just do it!” You cried, Jin had called the emergency team to come and extinguish the fire, but the weight of the air suggested by the time they arrived it would be too late.
“We can replace your things Y/N, it’s not that big a deal… I’m just glad nobody was inside.” Jimin explained in your ear, still keeping you from running across the field and seeing if he was alive.
“I don’t get it though, why would Hoseok do this now?” You could hear your brothers frown as he desperately tried to piece the puzzle, the burned flesh on your neck screaming for you not to tell him the truth.
“Yah-, what was that?!” Taehyung shouted, pointing towards the bungalow.
“What?! What was what?!” You snapped your head to face him, eyes wide with panic as you panted for air. You felt sick; when you saved Jungkook you had no idea that it would be the sealing kiss of his ultimate demise. Watching on in horror, tears ran down your face as the windows to the safe house shattered outwards, huge orange flames engulfing the sky.
“It looked like somebody was inside but… It must’ve been the flames.”
Unable to do anything but watch on, your stomach churned with guilt as the blaze grew impossibly thicker, swallowing up your temporary home. An explosion followed, throwing shards of glass and pieces of furniture flying across the small fields. Jimin turned your body into his, his strong arms wrapping round your quivering frame in a tight brotherly embrace. He smoothed out your hair as you buried your head in his chest, unable to keep yourself from silently sobbing.
Jungkook was dead.
