Project Disney Week Six: Lilo & Stitch

Saturday: Iconic Moment - Ohana” means “family.” “Family” means “no one gets left behind or forgotten.

"My name, Stitch. This is my family. I found it, all on my own. Is little, and broken, but still good. Ya. Still good.”

I’m also a bit embarrassed for Tommy, whatever happens with this so called company, they definitely weren’t working with Harry when he got the part in Dunkirk. Mentioning it in the context of their new business is deceiving and a lie by omission. That’s no way of gaining people’s trust.

KK Update and the Fangirl Get Well Project

7/29/16 - Hiya! Your friendly neighborhood Stitch (@femmedplume) here.

As most of you know, KK has been suffering from seizures for years now, and has recently gone into the hospital for surgery(ies) that will (hopefully) stop them. Which is, BTW, why I’ve been blog-sitting for her.

She went in for her first surgery this last Tuesday, and then we didn’t hear anything for awhile. But I just spoke with KK’s good friend, the awesome @coltsandquills, aka Quills. She was able to get in contact with KK’s mom, who’s given us this update:

KK is out of her initial surgery and, though there were some complications, things are looking up. However, she will be in the hospital for the next FOUR WEEKS!

Even after that, her recovery is going to be a long, difficult process. As much as we’re all going to miss her until she’s recovered enough to get back online, think about how much more difficult it’s going to be for her, being away!

Now I know what you’re all thinking:

What can we do to help?

  1. Donate to KK’s Medical Bills Fund: The GUS Family has set up a GoFundMe Page to help with her medical bills. If you’d like to donate, and/or use your fangirl superpowers to help get other people to donate, Quills has an amazing idea how! Go here to donate!

  2. The Fangirl Get Well Project: I’ve been laid up with a long-term illness before, and lemme tell you, the worst part is often the boredom. You’re stuck in your house or hospital room and it feels like the world has forgotten you. Well, we haven’t forgotten our KK, right?

What if we could give her a uniquely fandom “get well card” to let her know how much we care?

How, you ask? Let’s write her drabbles! Short fics where either a) KK is well and happy and having an awesome adventure with her friends and favorite characters, OR b) fics about her favorite characters that you know she’d like.

Once you’ve written your drabble, post it using the hashtag #The Fangirl Get Well Project. Then tag @spnjensenlove02 and @femmedplume. I will collect the stories, print them, and send them to KK at the hospital.

But what if you’re not a writer? That’s okay! Send in graphics, gifsets, ask-box get-well messages, whatever you want. Remember, she’ll be able to see them all online once she’s well enough to log back in. I’ll print as much as I can, but anything that wouldn’t translate well in print (like a gifset) will just be another lovely surprise for her when she gets back.

So that’s it, kids! We’ve got four weeks of cheering up to do here. GUS Family, remember that KK was our official Spirit Lifter. Now it’s our turn to do for her what she always does for us.

Let’s get after it. :D
