Meth-addicted python among hundreds of animals in Australian prison rehab
A jungle python addicted to methamphetamine is one of hundreds of animals being rehabilitated at an Australian prison by staff and inmates.

Well, this is interesting. I’d be interested in knowing more about what clinical addiction signs the snake exhibited. But it’s good that the snake survived! Don’t do drugs around animals, kids.

Easy-to-Understand houses in planets

House I - talks about your ego and how you project your image to the world. People say this is your social mask but what we present to the world is strongly related with our perceptions of the world and personal values, so don’t take this as fakeness. This is more you than you expect. Is related with the boldness of Aries.

House II - talks about your wealth and resources, surviving and the material world. Also about heritage, or lack of it, and how you will deal with money. Is related with the abundance of Taurus.

House III - talks about communication. How we make boundaries and our relationships - in terms of socializing with people, friends, family. To relate with others we must communicate so this is also about studies and education, basic learning and learning through others. Is related with the discourse of Gemini.

House IV - talks about family. How you deal with emotional stress at home, your relationships with relatives, memories of the past and family traumas. Also talks how you deal with the mother figure of your life. Is related with the caring nature of Cancer.

House V - talks about creation. It can be future projects, work, children, what makes you be who you are through what you do in life, what you build. This is working with passion and impulse of wanting to express and to be seen. Is related with the performer nature of Leo.

House VI - talks about work, professional image and career. It can be your work environment or your dream work, or how you deal with responsibilities and pressure of criticism. While house V is about creating with the heart, house VI is creating with the mind, doing the cruel work of availing and judging with perfectionism. Is related with the sharpness of Virgo.

House VII - talks about love and romantic partnership. What you’re looking for in a romance, what makes you feel attracted, what makes your mind blow and your feelings boil, and how you deal with these passionate emotions. Love usually brings balance to our life, so is also about personal equilibrium. Is related with the seductiveness of Libra.

House VIII - talks about life changes. It is a fatal house of development in life: can be through falling in love, experiencing sex, facing death, going through sickness, getting out of the teenage years and into the adult world, learning through traumas and hardships. Dealing with sudden changes and overcoming them to get the reward. Is related with the intense nature of Scorpio.

House IX - talks about wisdom, moral and ethics, and also your beliefs. It can be about your faith, which religious path you will follow, how you will deal with it. While house III is about knowledge and communicating, IX is about knowledge and reflecting. To learn one must be open to new ideas, so this can also be about traveling to meet new cultures, or going through studies like college and post graduations. Maybe all. Is related with the expansive nature of Sagittarius.

House X - talks about social position. This is about nobility, family pride and social power. Not necessarily about finances, like the house II, or work, like the house VI, but about being in charge of a leadership, or a very important role. Also about your relationship with your father figure, leaders and bosses, and how you deal with authorities and hierarchy. Since all these things are related with “successful” roles, this house also shows how you deal with difficulties and failures in your life. Is related with the ambitious nature of Capricorn.

House XI - talks about your place in society. Unlike house X that looks after power, this house is about what you do of remarkable in your society, in your groups, to make it better - or if you run from it if everything feels overwhelmingly wrong. Is about social development, and how you deal with and solve social problems, and everything that “upgrades” our present and build a better place. Is related with the inventive nature of Aquarius.

House XII - talks about your dreams and unconscious. This is how you imagine things to survive the cruelty of the world. Like the house XI this is a place for upgrades, but while the XI is about the collective, the XII is about the individual. They say what you think becomes real, and in this case is how you deal with your inner hopes and fears, expectations and rancors, and how they influence your life. Also talks about remarkable moments of joy and traumas that unconsciously shapes you, and if you use this to inspire or destroy yourself and others. Also your relation with places where you deal with your shadow self for recovery, karma payment, or escapism: prisons, therapy houses and rehab centers, or online games. If you believe in past life, this is about the karmas you’re paying from them. Is related with the romanticism of Pisces.

Some connections after rewatching Moonlight

Okay the level of connections between each three parts of the film is off the charts. Before I forget them:

The concept of “hard men” first introduced to Little by Kevin, actualized by Chiron in response to Kevin, and then criticized by Kevin in their last meetup.

The fact that Teresa wasn’t in the third part of the movie really bothered me- until I realized that she really had been taken by the place of Kevin. They both cook Chiron food to make him talk, and encourage him to open himself up more.

This also connects to Chiron becoming Juan- if Juan and Teresa were the surrogate fathers and mothers to Chiron, then he has become his own “father” figure, to which Kevin has become his analogous love.

Another subtle connection: Juan mentions immigrating from Cuba. In the diner scene, Chiron notices that the food Kevin has cooked for him is Cuban.

People driving each other: Juan driving Little, Kevin driving Chiron, Black driving Kevin.

The idea of the ones you love the most hurting you, and not wanting to hurt them back. Little looks up to Juan, in spite of him being the drug dealer to his mother. Chiron doesn’t hurt or rat out Kevin, because even though it was him who hurt him, he still loves him. And Chiron’s mother confessing her love for her son that she continually mistreated throughout her life.

The idea of huge events happening in the gaps of the movie- deaths, prison sentences, rehab stays, births. They’re just things that happen that people live with.

The dream sequences that flutter throughout the movie, along with the theme of connection to the ocean. The interruption of small delicate moments with the everyday routine of life, the interruption of songs in the middle of lines. The musical themes that start out, become “chopped and skewed,” and return back in unexpected moments.

It’s a testament to the film that all of these moments come off so effortlessly and naturalistically that I only really understood them after months of thinking about the characters and relationships. This is the type of writing that is often subtle, but deserves recognition. This movie really changed my life, and it’s utterly fantastic that I’ll continue to discover more things about the journey of Chiron…

I'm 100% KC but I disagree with you b/c I believe people should change or be forced to change if the situation requires it. That's why people get sent to prison or rehab or counseling, but Cami was trying to change him instead of inspiring him to change himself which is the issue I have. I think Care also tries to change Klaus but in a completely different way a way which benefits him and his wellbeing in stead of an imaginary relationship

Inspiring change, and actively using you’re position to force it, are not one in the same. Klaus’ narrative with Caroline was the former, with Camille it was the latter.

I always think about Nathan when he comes out of prison/rehab/hospital and he walks into Arcadia Bay like he doesn’t give a single shit and he doesn’t take shit from anybody. Like the first day while he walks into Two Whales and most students he knew are in there and they’re whispering and Victoria is there to greet him, he’s talking with a grin and Max walks in. She sees Nathan and gets really happy, she went to visit him alot and shit and Nathan sees her and he’s like “Caulfield!” And they hug and everything is great. The sad rich kid is now a happy kid who cut off his father and all the miseries in his life.

Wow. I really outdid myself last week, guys. It’ll be hard to top, but I won’t let you down!

Okay, so I gave Minority Report a shot, deciding to take a pass on Blindspot.

I’m not 100% sold yet, but it’s a pilot and, considering I was on the fence about Sleepy Hollow and it ended up being cool, I’m inclined to keep watching and see if it’s just a shaky pilot.

Cool things:

  • Detective Vega - she’s so smol, but damn if she didn’t roll crits on all her perception checks.  So smol.  Looks like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you.
  • Terrified Awkward Psychic with ZERO Social Skills Dash (aka clumsy puppy who just wants to help cause the program never let him deal with his mother’s murder).  Looks like a cinnamon roll, actually is a cinnamon roll.
  • Lampshade hanging on the idea of the future not being set in stone.
  • If you felt like your sci-fi future stuff was missing POC in lead and supporting roles that are not bullshit, hi hello welcome to this show where literally once the actual plot starts rolling POC EVERYWHERE.
  • It’s a future where the Washington Redskins have explicitly been renamed Red Clouds to honor this badass Native American chief, making this a universe where Daniel Snyder decides to be less of an asshole.  Hot damn.
  • Aftermath of the Precog program in terms of the PreCrime prisoners, their release, rehab and how the police are affected explicitly part of the plot/overarching series.
  • YOOOOOO THE COOL GEAR THE COPS HAVE.  THE SEPARATING TRAIN.  THE FLYING SELFIE CAM WRISTWATCH.
  • Death pigeons!

All in all, it’s already better than the movie and I’m giant sci-fi trash, so I’m gonna stick around and see how it goes.

I love Hawaii Five-0, and McDanno is one of my fave ships :)

For God and Country by islandgirl

He’s got a bullet hole in his shoulder the size of a quarter and more cuts and bruises scattered over his body than there are hours in a day that all attest to where he has been. And for the last eighteen months, he’s had a faded picture in place of a family to guide him back home again.

Grace is drawn to the quiet, mysterious SEAL and soon the two have formed a bond, one that begins healing Steve’s scarred heart and mind. Moving In (To Every Single Aspect of Danny’s Life, Including the Boring Bits like Dry-Cleaning) by westgirl

It felt wrong for Steve to sound unsure of his place in Danny’s life. His place in Danny’s life was at Danny’s side, driving him slowly insane. Steve should feel secure about that.

The Center for Balance - fic preview!

Let it be known, I have NOT abandoned The Right Kind of Madness! I know it’s been a while, but please understand these things take time. Sometimes inspiration comes from other places, and I like to go with it. Hence, here is a tiny preview of a new one-shot that I hope to have up this weekend! It’s canon, taking place six months post-5x17

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fitz is immediately taken aback by how healthy she looks. She’s always beautiful to him, but right now she’s positively glowing, there aren’t any bags beneath her gorgeous eyes, and her body looks wonderfully filled out, like she’s actually been eating three meals a day. She looks taken care of, she looks like she’s been taking care of herself.
He awkwardly takes a step toward her, and her arms start to open when he abruptly stops, realizing where they are.
“Can I—are we allowed to hug?”
“Fitz, it’s psychological rehab, not prison,” Olivia deadpans, her eyes soft and amused.
His face colors in embarrassment that doesn’t last long, because she’s stepping into his space, looking up at him with a gentle smile and warm eyes.
“In fact, if you don’t hug me, I’m going to be very upset,” she says quietly, looping her arms around his waist, tears shining in her eyes.
“Come here,” he says roughly, getting emotional himself at the relief of seeing her.
Her arms wrap around his shoulders and he buries his face in her neck, inhaling the familiar scent of vanilla and lavender. His arms are warm and strong, and it feels so good to hold onto him. She feels him take a deep breath and sigh into her shoulder, one large palm moving in circles over her back.
“It’s so good to see you,” she breathes, swaying gently in his arms.
He gives her a squeeze. “You too, Livvie.”
Starting Over // Lexi
glowing-emerald-vixen
Nick sat in the middle of his bed, the blanket over his lap.  He had woken up an hour ago but hadn’t moved.  He was trying to convince himself he didn’t need this… what had they called it?, a lifestyle coach?  It sounded like someone to help with your diet and exercise.  No, actually it was someone trained to help those who hadn’t lived on their own in a long time do so.  Sometimes it’s people who had just gotten out of prison or rehab.  Or someone who had never lived alone before.  Or soemone like himself.  An ex-submissive.  For four years he lived that lifestyle full time.  It had been fullfilling, until it wasn’t.  Darrin and Rena Stone were wonderful people but both of them were going into their forties and doing things like going to parties or the club and just spending time with people your own age, had happened already.  Nick was in his twenties and hadn’t really done that at all.  Having had no money before he couldn’t.  And with the Stone’s, it just didn’t.
He looked at the clock and sighed.  She’d be here in half an hour.  He forced himself out of bed to shower, dress and eat soemthing.  He then waited.
What Jared Padalecki said was very true.
I’m sorry to say, but as someone who grew up with nothing but heroin/cocaine/meth addicts in their family, I have to agree. If this actor was some random person, you wouldn’t be saying he was wrong and hating him for it, you would probably be like “oh he deserved it, he had it coming”. Obviously addiction is hard, for the person dealing with it and those around them, but some people don’t want to get better. I’m 17 and I’m so scarred from what I grew up around and into, seeing my uncle overdose 30 times (yes, 30, from heroin, no lying). my mom going to prison and rehab and fuck up her life over and over for as long as I can remember (not to mention while she was pregnant with me), my aunt a major meth addict who developed the mind of a 13 year old girl. I don’t even want to mention my dad.. It’s hard. It’s not always a mistake so don’t always assume that the person made a mistake and deserved nothing bad. Death is hard for anyone, it’s sad, but it’s not really tragic. Maybe you can understand from someone on the outside looking in, and realize it wasn’t anyone else’s fault, except himself.
Don’t hate Jared for stating his own opinion, and don’t hate me for sharing mine. No I’m not sticking up for him because I’m a “fan” although I am. It’s because of the struggle that honestly ruined my life, and I hate that people only see things one sided.
A+ cover with really interesting quotes:
On prison and rehab: “Job one is get out of that cave. A lot of people do get out but don’t change. So the thing is to get out and recognize the significance of that aggressive denial of your fate, come through the crucible forged into a stronger metal. Or whatever. But I don’t even know if that was my experience. It’s funny: five years ago, I would’ve made it sound like I’m conscious of my own participation in seizing the similarities. But so many things have become less certain. I swear to God. I am not my story.”
On his son Indio’s drug problems: “He’s his mother’s son and my son, and he’s come up the chasm much quicker than we did. But that’s typical in the Information Age; things get accelerated. You’re confronted with histories and predispositions and influences and feelings and unspoken traumas or needs that weren’t met, and all of a sudden you’re three miles into the woods. Can you help someone get out of those woods? Yes, you can. By not getting lost looking for them. Pick a dysfunction and it’s a family problem.”
On working for Marvel: “I’ve gone from being convinced that I am the sole integer in the approbation of a phenomenon to realizing that I was the lead in the first of a series of movies that created a chain reaction that, if everything didn’t fire the way it was supposed to, there’s no operator, no anything. And you go, O.K., life is doing something here that included me but did not require me. But, yes, that role means a lot. Marvel is kind of like this sacred brotherhood.”
Directioners confession by anonymous
“Zayn leaving One Direction has just showed how absolutely disgusting and selfish a lot of Directioners are. Like how the fuck do they think bullying Little Mix even worse than they already did, burning & tearing up their concert tickets, and threatening to cut or kill themselves make Zayn want to come back? They seriously do NOT care about his mental health at all. They acting like they’d rather have him be overworked, stressed, and unhappy until he’s dead, in prison, or in rehab than let him be happy out of the spotlight.“
