Princess Marie and Prince Joachim of Denmark visited the French embassy this evening in Copenhagen along with their children where they laid flowers in honor of the victims of last nights terrorist attack in Paris. 

Princess Marie, who was born in Paris, struggled to hold back tears. Marie told reporters “I could not believe it” and that “Flowers are the least we can do”


12/25/2014: Crown Princess Mary, Crown Prince Frederik and their four children hosted a Christmas party in the Chancellery on Christmas Day. Approximately 40 guests attended the party including Princess Marie, Prince Joachim and their children.

HH Nikolai, Prince of Denmark

Nikolai William Alexander Frederik, Prince of Denmark, Count of Monpezat, was born on 28th August 1999 at Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital). Prince Nikolai is the son of HRH Prince Joachim and Alexandra Countess of Frederiksborg.

After the divorce, Prince Joachim and Alexandra Countess of Frederiksborg have joint custody of Prince Nikolai and his younger brother Prince Felix

Prince Nikolai is included in the order of succession to the Throne.

Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark on their 40th wedding anniversary with their then four grandchildren: Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Prince Christian and Princess Isabella.
