Prince Amedeo Marie Joseph Carl Pierre Philippe Paola Marcus d'Aviano, my God that’s a long name, born on February 22, 1986, is a member of the Belgian Royal Family and heir to the headship of the House of Austrie-Este, a cadet branch of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine. He is the  first child of Lorenz, Archduke of Austria-Este and Princess Astrid of Belgium and is descended from royals and nobles from the Austrian, Belgian, Italian, French, Swedish, Danish, British, Portuguese, Spanish and German royal families. Prince Amedeo graduated from the London School of Economics in 2008, took a sabbatical before entering professional life, but is now working for Deloitte in New York City.

Princess Astrid of Belgium and her husband Prince Lorenz attended a Roll Back Malaria Partnership reception in Brussels with their eldest son Prince Amedeo and his wife, Princess Elisabetta on December 14, 2015.

The reception was also the farewell reception for Princess Astrid as Special Representative for the UN Roll Back Malaria (RBM) partnership. Princess Astrid was recognized for her commitment and tireless efforts during her 8 years as a Special Representative for the RBM Partnership.

Princess Alix de Ligne is the granddaughter of Princess Alix of Luxembourg &  Antoine, 13th Prince de Ligne. Princess Alix of Luxemborug is the younger sister of Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg. Princess Alix de Ligne is the 1st cousin 1x removed of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg. Her father and The Grand Duke of Luxembourg are first cousins. Through her mother, she is in 8th place in succession for the defunct Brazilian throne.
