prime skin

The summer storm, Sahriv. Only taken me approximately 5 evers to continue the portrait series I planned from the start of this blog, but belated or not–this is the Devavani’s custom, darling little Volt Prime. He’s a high-strung, high-energy, high-maintenance bundle of anxiety who will paw/scratch at his operator’s somatic link pod’s door until it opens, only to curl up and go back to sleep (presumably satisfied that his operator hasn’t abandoned them all in the night). Additionally, this “curling up and going back to sleep” often takes place in his operator’s lap–or, at least, the attempt is made.

A lap dog cat frame he is not, but he has big dreams and you can’t take that away from him.

(Fortunately, Saif’s some sort of immortal void demon child so hopefully suffocation or electrocution isn’t a big concern.)

review on glossier's priming moisturizer rich

“skin first, makeup second”

I bought this product about a week ago, and started using it the day I got it. and I already have plenty of things to say about it. first of, hell it sure is rich in moisturizing, just like alot of glossier’s other products. my skin never felt so…soft. one weird thing I didnt expect would happen was that it cleared my small bits of acne. I’ve only been using it for a week! for the price, i would definitely say this is 100% worth it! Bravo, Glossier!

Hey so..... I wanted to ask for recommendations for foundations that last because I'm a dancer and I'll be performing soon and from seeing bangtans makeup and stuff what would/ which foundation would you recommend? Also I really love you page because your recommendations are really good and you seem to have a good eye so 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Hi, thanks for loving us 💕 We provided a list of foundations and powders below that we have found to be long-lasting, along with some that BTS have used. One thing to keep in mind is that priming / prepping your skin and setting your base makeup makes a big difference regardless of the foundation.

  • Oily skin types usually have problems with foundation breaking down, so you also could use a mattifying primer underneath foundation to combat this.
  • On the other hand, if you have drier skin you need to moisturize well and/or wear hydrating primer to prevent your foundation from cracking.
  • For more long-lasting finish, all skin types should set their base with powder and/or setting spray.
  • For stage/dance makeup, make sure to avoid using thick moisturizers / skincare underneath the foundation, as that will make it slide around more when you sweat.

☀️ = matte finish ✨ = satin to radiant finish

✔️ = light coverage, medium at best ✔️✔️ = medium coverage, buildable ✔️✔️✔️= full coverage

💃🏼 = Bangtan used this!

  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place ☀️☀️✔️✔️✔️ (foolproof for oily and super oily skin)
  • MUFE Mat Velvet ☀️☀️✔️✔️✔️ (this one is water resistant)
  • MUFE Ultra HD ✨✔️✔️ (Admin A used this several times when she had to attend traditional weddings / ceremonies. It didn’t feel as heavy as ELDW, but quite long wearing. Admin T approves of this foundation as well!)
  • MAC Pro Longwear ☀️✔️✔️💃🏼  (also available in waterproof version. If you need extra coverage, you can opt for the Studio Fix Fluid)
  • MAC Studio Face and Body ✨✨✔️💃🏼 (if you need to cover your body parts. water resistant, sheer coverage, and rather dewy finish)
  • Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able ☀️✔️✔️✔️  (this is probably the most full coverage foundation on the market, and it’s good for stage makeup as well)
  • Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish ☀️✔️✔️ (it’s a stick foundation so it might not work well on drier skin)
  • Revlon Colorstay ☀️☀️✔️✔️✔️ (the dupe of ELDW. Admin A used to use this and it didn’t budge at all in humid climate)
  • Loreal Infallible Pro Matte ☀️✔️✔️ (also available in dewy finish ✨✨)
  • Sephora 10hr Wear Perfection ✨✔️ (for more natural looking foundation)

  • Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder (excellent oil control but it may leave white cast)
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (another inexpensive setting powder, good for oily skin)
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural 💃🏼
  • Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder 💃🏼
  • Bareminerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder (provides ~luminous finish. there’s 2 version of this, use the regular ver instead of the spf ver to avoid flashback/white cast)

Setting Spray

  • MUFE Mist & Fix (really locks your makeup. doesn’t contain alcohol so it’s safe for people who have sensitive skin)
  • Urban Decay All-Nighter (Admin T’s favorite setting spray, helps makeup last all day and takes away the powdery finish)

good luck on your performance! ❤️

Admin A and Admin T

These swatches are everything 💜💜 we have a big project we asked of her and she agreed 💜💜💜 more looks to come 😻😻

These are vegan pigments from the brand @surrealmakeup and were swatched dry on my primed skin with a brush! Imagine what they would look like with a little fix+!

@ha-hahaha-ha-tower-knight sent in a lot of photos this week. They had a lot to say about their submissions.

Here’s Mirage in Porcelain Blue wearing the Morgaine skin, Avia chest, Solstice Daedalus leg plates, and the Hecate syandana. Her arsenal includes the Braton Prime with the Kintsugi skin and the Gazal Machete.

An anon asked about Nidus colourations and I’ve experimented with him a couple times. He looks really good in Bioluminent!
Here’s another set I came up with on my own called ‘Broodlord’. I kinda stared at Infested enemies in the codex for Nidus, the Brood Mother being the main inspiration for this one. The Embolist armor set looks good on him, as well as the Apoxys syandana.

They used the following colors for their Nidus:
PRIMARY   |   Classic B5
SECONDARY   |   Corpus D18
TERTIARY   |   Storm B9
ACCENTS   |   Classic C3
ENERGY   |   Classic Saturated C13

Thank you for your awesome submissions!

I love all the health and beauty stuff you post so I wanted to know do you have some kind of glo up routine for 2016? I mean, I'm inspired when I see other SBs taking care of themselves and doing better. My question is what can I do to sort of polish myself and make myself better? I feel like this year is really the year for me to make changes and look my best. I wanna be ready by the time summer starts.

I wasn’t sure how to really go about replying to this so I’m gonna wing it and try to separate things into subcategories in order to answer this question as best as I can. I don’t really have a “glo up” routine or regimen but I’ll write whatever I can think of that may help. So, let’s begin–this is my unofficial glo up regimen. As a disclaimer, please allow me to mention, I generally like to stick with organic or natural based products. Some products I use in my everyday life do contain non-natural/non-organic based ingredients so if you happen to see something and that’s not natural based, it’s because well some things are simply unavoidable. I just try my best to avoid certain products as much a possible. Also, if all of this seems repetitive, some of these things have been mentioned in previous questions I’ve been asked before about my skin care routine.

Cleansing: Raw African black soap, Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Soap, clays (bentonite, rhassoul, morrocan, green, kaolin, etc.), Medimix Ayurvedic Soap With 18 Herbs (may be drying), Chandrika Ayurvedic soap (may be drying), and various turmeric powder mixtures.

Moisturizing: Organic unrefined jojoba oil, organic unrefined coconut oil, castor oil, raw aloe vera, raw avocado oil, raw unrefined shea butter, kukui oil, henna (I don’t use the Lush brand), and babassu oil.

Skin (Face)
Cleansing/Exfoliating: Shea Moisture Organic Olive & Green Tea Body Scrub, Medimix Ayurvedic Soap With 18 Herbs, raw African black soap, Chandrika Ayurvedic soap, sugar scrubs (to exfoliate), and Dr. G Brightening Peeling Gel.

Eyes: Indie Lee Calendula Eye Balm and Kypris eye creams

Moisturizing: Kukui oil, raw unrefined shea butter, jojoba oil, borage oil, prime rose oil, JustNatural Skin Care Body Nutritive Serum, and almond oil.

Toning: Thayers Alcohol-Free Unscented Witch Hazel Toner, apple cider vinegar, rosewater, and herbal infused apple cider vinegar, and turmeric powder (to tone and rejuvenate).

Serums: Kypris (I’m in love with their whole line of products) along with Indie Lee, especially their Squalane Facial Oil. I also like some products from Renée Rouleau.

Skin (Body)
Dr. Bronner’s Castile Peppermint Soap, Medimix Ayurvedic Soap With 18 Herbs, raw African black soap, Chandrika Ayurvedic soap, coffee grounds, Shea Moisture Organic Olive & Green Tea Body Scrub, and Dessert Essence Tea Tree oil. I don’t use them all at once–I use each in a very specific manner. If I’m not feeling too lazy, I make my own sugar scrubs.

Moisturizing: Raw unrefined shea butter, grapeseed oil, almond oil, vitamin E oil, jojoba oil, castor oil.

Miscellaneous Body Care
Nars Body Glow, Elemental Herbology Botanical Body Repair Limited Edition Gold Shimmer Body Oil, Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or, and St. Tropez tanning products (I use the St. Tropez Self Tan Dark Bronzing Lotion).

And to the anon who asked me previously about hyperpigmentation, I would suggest trying products such as Alpha-H Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid and Dr. G Brightening Peeling Gel. And perhaps even the Indie Lee Clear Complexion Kit.

Miscellaneous Face Care
And last but not least, I use skin towelettes to wipe my face. I usually try to steer clear of towelettes but the few I use are: Nature’s Nutraceuticals Sensitive Skin Towelettes (not necessarily to remove makeup but it comes in handy–I use them for various things). To remove makeup prior to a facial cleansing, I use WaterWipes (I should mention, since this wipe is natural based and has no preservatives, it can can be prone to mold build up if not used up in a significant amount of time (the entire package I mean) the wipes can go bad, Nature’s Nutraceuticals Sensitive Skin Towelettes, Lusa Organics Baby Wipe Juice, Jackson Reece Herbal and Biodegradable Wipes (you really have to search for these in stores 😩), and Honest Company Baby Wipes. When I don’t use these wipes or concoctions, I use a cotton swap and witch hazel and/or jojoba oil. Please note that with the exception of Nature’s Nutraceuticals Sensitive Skin Towelettes, all the other wipes mentioned are baby wipes.

Also, as I mentioned before I’ve been asked questions in the past. One other beauty treatment that I do from time to time, are clay masks but I also do an activated charcoal mask as well.

I don’t know if this helps but perhaps you can build from there. Happy glo up! ✨✨✨

Sammmm have you got any suggestions on how to cover up hickeys? 💕

What you’ll need is primer, color correction shades (specifically yellow and green), concealer and foundation.

Prime the skin first, that way the makeup will stay in longer. Next, if you have a color correction palette, then brush yellow and green over the hickey lightly to try to neutralize the colors of it as much as possible (If you don’t have one of these, then dont worry about it).
After that, put a thick-ish coat of concealer over the hickey (don’t worry about blending just yet.) When that’s done out foundation over the area and blend it lightly into your skin,, but not too much, you still wanna keep the product kinda thick on the skin so it keeps the hickey covered. Once that’s done, set it with some translucent powder/baby powder doesn’t matter, they both do the same thing, and then you’re done! This should improve the look of the hockey. It might still be somewhat visible, so if you have like a choker or something, I’d also put that on. Hope this helps, babe! 💋
