pride & the prejudice

anonymous asked:

Sorry if this comes as rude my inner gay is just very curious *wink wonk* what's your sexuality?

((OOC: No worries friendo - ur cute, that wasn’t rude!

Allow me to answer you in the form of an anecdote:

I just went into my kitchen, singing I Feel Pretty from West Side Story, and upon being asked by my dad why I was in such a good mood my reply was: “Because I’m wearing plaid.”

I then proceeded to dance into the room my mum was in, striking a dramatic pose as I sung/screamed “and GAYYYY!”, ran out of the room, grabbed a cap, ran back into the room shoving said cap on my head and shouted “JUST GOT GAYER”, before leaving again.

Not that I’m extra about it or anything ;)

I realise I have not actually answered the question so: I like people based on their personality, not their gender *shrugs*))

  • expectation at age 13: will grow up to become the extroverted, witty, and enchanting elizabeth bennet
  • reality at age 22: has grown up to become the introverted, awkward, and stressed out fitzwilliam darcy

look, if you’re looking for a perfect (or near-perfect) adaptation of “pride and prejudice,” definitely go for the 1995 miniseries. it’s a wonderful miniseries with colin firth, and book purists love it for a reason. but, as a movie, as an experience, as a thing that generally turns me into a squeeing, mushy pile of goo that believes in true love… the 2005 movie OWNS. MY. ASS.
