price of murder

I just realized...

Who the fuck is the protagonist of Hannibal?

I mean every show must have some kind of protagonist, right? But in Hannibal every fucking one of them is out there doing the shadiest of shady things and literally killing people left and right.

One could say it’s will but even he doesn’t really fit into it. The show is basicly him learning to kill and falling in love a cannibalistic serial killer.

Is it Hannibal? Well maybe. Who knows anymore. That guy is certainly protecting something.

It’s not really Jack either. Or Alana. Or Doctor Chilton. They all used people in horrible ways and some of them even killed for their agenda.

Is it Beverly? Price & Zeller?? Buster????

Jack Crawford: I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this, but it seems as if Will Graham has run off with Dr. Lecter in some sort of Bonnie and Clyde scenario.

Brian Zeller and Jimmy Price:….

Jack Crawford: And there’s evidence to suggest that their relationship may be somewhat sexual.

Zeller and Price:…….

Jack Crawford: This isn’t surprising to you is it.

Brian Zeller: You mean that they’re gay for each other.

Jack Crawford: …..

Jack Crawford:….You both knew all along, didn’t you?

Jimmy Price and Brian Zeller:

Here’s my breakdown of what happened at C2E2!

I spent Friday attending professional panels for the comics industry, which probably deserves a post of its own, but I don’t think anyone is interested in me talking shop. But Saturday was devoted to Agents of SHIELD stuff with Iain and Liz. I had an amazing time and so many awesome things happened. Truly it was the best con experience I’ve ever had and, as @bigfunnywords (HEY Tumblr finally let me tag you!) said, I lived my best life. I’ll try to do the tl;dr version but this will probably get long.

Putting the rest behind a cut for your scrolling convenience.

Craig Price committed his first murder at just 13-years-old. On 27 July, 1987, he broke into a neighbouring home and stabbed 27-year-old Rebecca Spencer to death. He had stabbed her a total of 58 times. Price didn’t kill again until 4 September, 1989, when he was 15-years-old. He broke into another neighbouring home and killed the three occupants. He stabbed 39-year-old Joan Heaton approximately 60 times and he also stabbed her daughter 10-year-old Jennifer approxmately 60 times. He then beat her other daughter, 8-year-old Melissa to death. They were stabbed so brutally that the knife broke off the handle in Melissa’s neck. The police determined that the perpetrator was a neighbour and would have wounds on their hands from the brutality of the crime. Price was apprehended after being spotted by police with a bandage of his hand and evidence was found in his home. Price was convicted before his 16th birthday. He was denied parole in March 2009 and his current release date is in May 2020.

I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS AND THINGS TO SAY AS METAS AND HEADCANONS ARE LITERALLY JUMPING MY BRAIN LIKE HOLY CRAP-

WHAT DOES JACK CRAWFORD THINK WHEN HE FINDS THE BODY OF DOLARHYDE AND THE BLOOD OF WILL GRAHAM AND HANNIBAL LECTER SPREAD FAR AND WIDE ALONGSIDE IT, YET NO SIGHT OF THE MEN THEMSELVES, WHAT DOES ALANA THINK WHEN SHE HEARS THAT THEY AREA GONE, DOES CHILTON RECOVER PROPERLY AND DOES THE WORLD REALIZE THAT THE TWO MEN THEY SHOULD FEAR MOST WHEN TOGETHER HURTLED INTO THE OCEAN TO A FATE UNKNOWN, HOW DOES BEDELIA FEEL WHEN A KNOCK COMES TO HER DOOR AND SHE KNOWS EXACTLY WHO IT IS AND SET A TABLE FOR THREE INSTEAD OF ONE, HOW DO BRIAN AND JIMMY REACT TO YET ANOTHER LOSS ON THEIR END OF THE TEAM EVEN IF WILL NEVER FIT IN- AND WILL’S FAMILY, DOES MOLLY GRIEVE FOR LONG OR BEGIN HER NEW LIP OF LOST LOVE AGAIN, BRINGING HER UNDERSTANDING SON WITH HER AWAY FROM ANOTHER BROKEN LIFE, AND DOES REBA EVER TRUST ANYONE AGAIN AFTER THIS PERSONAL BLOW OR NOW SUSPECT EVERYONE AROUND HER. DID WILL GRAHAM AND HANNIBAL LECTER TRULY EMBRACE THEIR ABILITIES AND WORK TOGETHER FOR THE DRAGONS DOWNFALL WITHOUT A SECOND GUESS IN THEIR MIND ABOUT THEIR OWN LIVES-

I DONT KNOW THE ANSWERS TO A LOT, BUT WHAT I DO KNOW THE ANSWER TO IS THAT WILL GRAHAM AND HANNIBAL LECTER ARE IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER, AND NOTHING WILL EVER SEPARATE THEM.

Filing The Report

My (slightly late) contribution to the A Tale of Two Murder Husbands collaborative fic. My chapter was for Jimmy Price, who has been very busy since Hannibal and Will “took the plunge”.

In the end, the report was a greater fiction than anything Freddie Lounds could have come up with. Jack wrote it up personally, the heroic ode to Will Graham, killed in the line of duty as he rid the world of two monsters. Jack filed the report with Kade Prurnell, emailed a copy to Freddie Lounds and resigned from the bureau within 24 hours of the FBI’s discovery of the Dolarhyde’s body.

Hannibal Lecter, the Chesapeake Ripper and gentleman cannibal, had orchestrated his escape with his partner, Francis Dolarhyde, murdered an entire police escort, and abducted Will Graham. Once free from the police, Hannibal and Dolarhyde had taken Graham to one of Lecter’s safe houses. There, an argument had apparently occurred resulting in the death of the so-called Tooth Fairy.

After killing his partner, Lecter had turned on Will Graham. It was only Graham’s quick thinking and a valiant struggle that resulted in the brave former agent Graham throwing both himself and Lecter off a cliff. The ultimate sacrifice.

Jack left the bureau, Will gave his life for god and country, and two monsters were dead. Prurnell was more than happy to cling to the fiction and sell it to the media. Only Freddie Lounds seemed to want to call bullshit, and for the first time in his life, Jimmy Price agreed with her.

He glared at the report in his hands.

“This doesn’t bother you at all?”

Zeller looked up from a piece of finger he was working with.

         “You need to drop it.”

“Don’t reports usually have forensics in them?” He waved the pages in Zeller’s direction. “This is the ending of a bad detective novel. Where’s the blood report? The fiber analysis. My fingerprint report?”

         Zeller sighed.

“Jimmy, it’s done. Crawford’s out and Prurnell will bury us if you keep this up.”

“Will was drinking in that house, Brian. His fingerprints were everywhere.” Price tossed the report next to the disembodied hand on Zeller’s desk. “If Will Graham was being held hostage, why were his fingerprints all over the house?”

“Lecter liked to play games, maybe he let Will think he could escape?”

“So Will finds an opportunity…and has some wine? Goes through the record collection? His fingerprints were all over the bookshelf!”

“Look, you and I both know that Graham had a weird thing going with Hannibal the Cannibal.”

“I understand the attraction, but -”

         Brian snapped his head up.

         “You UNDERSTAND the attraction?”

“Smart, handsome, powerful, Dr. Lecter was certainly -”

“Bat shit crazy? He ate people, Jimmy.” Brian’s shoulders dropped. “He ate Beverly.”

“Oh really? Thank you for the reminder, Brian.” Jimmy sat at his desk with a huff. “My point is, before we knew what he was, we were all charmed. Remember that week you came to work with that terrible plaid suit coat?”

Brian flipped him off and went back to his piece of finger.

“Will was more affected by it than most.” Jimmy mused. “True, his clothes never really got better, but he kept putting himself in Hannibal’s orbit. He kept trying to lure him.”

         “Jack told him to.”

“I’m not sure that’s entirely why.”

         Zeller snorted.

“So you and Freddie are team Murder Husbands, huh?” Zeller used the piece of finger to help him make air quotes around the tabloid term.

“This whole thing stinks and I think we need to look at it. What if they’re…” He let the sentence die on his lips and made a vague gesture.

“What? Alive?” Zeller scoffed. “They took a swan dive off of a cliff into the ocean, man. Even if they were dry humping the whole way down, I doubt the power of true love would save them.”

“Will survived gutting. Lecter survived countless assaults. It’s possible to survive a fall from -”

“It’s possible. But not probable.” Zeller sighed. “You’ve been bitching about the science in the reports for weeks now, Jimmy. Look at the science. They’re fucking dead. And if Jack Crawford needs a happy bedtime story for himself, let him fucking have it. And hey, speaking of science, don’t we have to finish the report on Thing here? Prurnell actually wants that.”

Jimmy pursed his lips. He opened up a file and started typing.

On 7th December 1989, the body of missing 15 year old Karen Price was discovered buried in the garden of a house being renovated by builders. Wrapped in carpet and badly decomposed, Karen was last seen on 2nd July 1981 before running away from a children’s home in Cardiff and remained untraceable until her death over 8 years later.

Although initially unidentifiable, Karen’s body had been submerged in clay under the ground and so the remnants of some materials remained preserved. Investigators were able to determine that the bra worn by the mystery woman was a 36B and manufactured by a Liverpool company called Shadowline, which was sold by a Cardiff retailer called Mrs Knickers. Additionally, the deceased was found to be wearing a size 18 Levi sweatshirt sold around 1980, which also gave detectives an approximate time of death. Meanwhile, facial reconstruction artist Richard Neave had been able to recreate Karen’s physical appearance by using her skull as a guideline. This is essentially what brought about the identification of Karen Price, as the likeness of the model caused her parents to come forward and subsequently provide a positive DNA match. This particular case was actually noted as one of the first to successfully incorporate the use of DNA technology.

In 1991, two men named Idris Ali and Alan Charlton were arrested and charged with Karen’s murder. Charlton had occupied the basement flat at the residence where Price’s body was uncovered and Ali solicited himself as a pimp to teenage runaways in Cardiff. Apparently, Ali had persuaded Karen to become a prostitute after learning that she was desperate for cash. A few weeks later, Ali met Charlton and told of his links to the local prostitution rings. In return, Charlton gave Ali an invite to a sex party taking place at his apartment. He took Karen there with him. Whilst there, Charlton asked the victim and another 13 year old girl to perform lesbian acts, and once Karen refused Alan Charlton turned very nasty. He allegedly beat her until she was unconscious, all whilst the other younger girl cowered and cried. Following this, Mr Charlton restrained Karen’s hands behind her back, forcibly placed a plastic bag on her head and proceeded to rape her. Her body was then buried in the back garden, with the help of Mr Ali. Once imprisoned, Idris Ali’s sentenced was reduced to manslaughter and as a result he was released in 1994. However, Alan Charlton is still serving a life sentence.

The Strange Death of Robert Wone

One of the most mysterious murder cases that Washington D.C. has seen happened in August 2nd, 2006.

Robert Wone (32), a prominent lawyer, had finished work late that day, so instead of going back home to Virginia he decided to stay at one of his college’s friends place in the city. Joseph Price, Wone’s old friend, lived with two other men, Victor Zaborsky and Dylan Ward, and the three of them were in a committed polyamorous relationship, according to their statements.

The night of August 2nd, around 11:30 pm, neighbors heard a scream. At 11:49 pm, Zaborsky called 911 and told them  “We had someone… in our house, evidently, and they stabbed somebody.”

When police and paramedics arrived, they found something as strange as it was horrific. Wone was clearly dead, lying neatly on a bed with his arms at his sides, the bedding untouched and folded. There were no signs of struggle or defensive wounds, and little blood. However, he had been viciously stabbed three times in the chest and the wound was large enough to fit your finger inside.

According to one of the paramedics, it looked like Wone’s body had been washed and redressed before being placed on the bed. Even more suspicious, Price, Zaborsky and Ward were all wearing white bathrobes and appeared to have showered recently too.

Police found sadomasochistic sex toys all over the house and their first theory was that it had been a sex scene that went out of control. But Wone was married to a woman and there was no indication he was gay or bisexual.

The forensic examination showed needle marks on Wone’s neck, chest, foot and hand, which led investigators to the conclusion he had been paralyzed with some drug, even though there weren’t any traces of it in his blood. The body also showed signs of suffocation, and Wone was wearing a guard in his mouth that prevented teeth grinding when they found the body, something he would only put on if he was about to sleep.

The three suspects insisted that someone had broken into their home and murdered Robert. The defense also claimed that there was prejudice from the police against their lifestyle.

Yet no charges were made until late 2008, when Price, Zaborsky and Ward had to stand trial not for murder, but for obstruction of justice and conspiracy for allegedly tampering with the crime scene.

In June 2010, Judge Lynn Leibovitz found them not guilty of these particular charges, although she stated that she personally believed they had murdered Robert Wone.

The case is still officially unsolved.
