“Enlightenment is a destructive process. It has nothing to do with becoming better or being happier. Enlightenment is the crumbling away of untruth. It’s seeing through the facade of pretence. It’s the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true.” — Adyashanti

The outside world

I’ve gotten so bored of school drama and hubbub.Seriously, nothing seems to excite me anymore, feels out of place at such a big school. The people and their first world problems and whatnots and dilemmas and character and generally full of false friendship.God give me a break and send me to some overseas beach because Life sure is being a bitch

That’s what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is. Most people love you for who you pretend to be. To keep their love, you keep pretending - performing. You get to love your pretence. It’s true, we’re locked in an image, an act - and the sad thing is, people get so used to their image, they grow attached to their masks. They love their chains. They forget all about who they really are. And if you try to remind them, they hate you for it, they feel like you’re trying to steal their most precious possession.

How elegant your pretence
charming denial written
on the palms of your hands
I always knew
you could tell tales with grace

And if I asked you now
could you write your feelings
you would say
you are not a writer

I never thought lying
could look so beautiful
as it does with you
when it falls from your lips
it shines with radiance
like no other lie can
