This is a post that most likely no one cares about since I shitpost whatever I’m into but I wanna get my thoughts about the podcasts I listen to regularly and what I feel about them.
Welcome to Night Vale - This is the one that got me into podcasts although it scared me at first. I managed to listen to 60 episodes in almost a week so I was pretty hooked. This is about a friendly desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful and mysterious lights pass while we all pretend to sleep. It’s set in a H P Lovecraft style of world where the scariest of things are seen as the most normal of things. Things change when a beautiful stranger comes to town but you’ll fall in love instantly. Episodes come out the 1st and 15th of each month
Alice Isn’t Dead - This is done by the same company that does Night Vale and it’s a lot darker and creepier. It is about a truck driver who drives around the country trying to find her wife Alice while discovering things about the towns she goes past. A warning if you don’t deal with gore or violence very well (also spoilers) someone does get murdered in the first episode and the main character does get attacked in a later episode. This show is only done by Joseph Fink and his style is a little scary at times but it’s still good. I recommend binge listening to the first season before the second one comes out because it’s a little easier to keep up with the story that way. I prefer Night Vale over Alice but that’s just a personal opinion. Episodes will continue when the next season starts.
Wolf 359 - This is one of my favourite podcasts I have ever listened to. Written by Gabriel Urbina, it’s about Doug Eiffel’s life on the Hephaestus Research Station as they orbit the red dwarf star Wolf 359. This a podcast you’ll want more of and you’ll want to know every single plot twist and theory. The characters are loveable and it just makes me really happy. Renee Minkowski is the station’s commander and she makes sure that her boys stay in check (mostly Eiffel). Dr. Hilbert is honestly a little creepy but you can’t hate him and HERA is my computer wife. Every storyline is great and will only keep you guessing. The website also has other cool stuff such as playlists for the characters which are on spotify and there are small little things that are fantastic. The early seasons are very lighthearted and Zach Valenti (@iamzachvalenti) voices both Doug and Hilbert and it’s just fantastic to listen to. Episodes come out every two weeks.
Limetown - Limetown is very different compared to the other podcasts. It’s a news report that follows a reporter, Lia Haddock, as she tries to find out what happened to an entire town of people that just vanished into thin air. The length of the episodes span under 10 minutes to nearly an hour. It’s interesting but Lia is kinda annoying with her methods of obtaining the information she desires but her intentions are in the right place, despite her actions getting innocent people hurt. The podcast kinda stopped in December last year so it’s real easy to listen to but you will want more which is disappointing since you want to know what happens in the next season. It takes a very realistic turn of events so who knows when the next season comes out. If you like realistic podcasts then this is the one for you
The Bright Sessions - Another personal favourite of mine and I no joke want more right now. The only way I can describe the podcast without spoiling it is X-men go to therapy. It’s an actual pleasure to listen to and it keeps you hooked. Lauren Shippen (@thelaurenshippen) has created something thats actually beautiful and has created characters who are relatable in every way. Sam is a time traveller with anxiety, Caleb is a high school student who can feel others emotions, Chloe thinks she’s going insane with the voices of angels then there is a mysterious character who I shall not name. It’s defiantly worth a listen and it’s an A++ podcast. The website also has things that are unique to each person. Sam has a blog, Caleb has instagram and playlists of his own and Chloe has tumblr. This is no joke something I want to make in the future so it’s amazing to me. New episode dates will be released with the new episodes.
King Falls AM - This is like Night Vale but less creepy and more paranormal. The main characters are Sammy “Shotgun” Stevens and Ben Arnold who host a late night call in show. I can only imagine this like Night Vale because of the similar format but they are completely different. King Falls AM is what Night Vale would be if the town normal and unusual things aren’t normal. The characters are really loveable and I just love them so much. There are people you will love to hate and it definitely makes you feel like you are a citizen of the town which is great. It brings a sense of community to the small fandom. I want to say more but it’s very spoilery so I will say no more. It’s worth the listen to and I recommend binge listening to this one, trust me you’ll want to. New episodes come out the 1st and 15th of each month.
EOS 10 - I’ll admit that I haven’t finished this podcast but I don’t think they’ve made new episodes since last year?????? (it was December so I wasn’t wrong). The story follows Ryan Dalias arriving on EOS 10 to check up on the doctor on the ship who has been going through his share of addiction. From what I’ve listened from this, it’s not bad but not my cup of tea. Scifi podcasts don’t work for me but I still enjoy this quite a bit. Warning if you aren’t interested in hearing people do the frick frack then there is a part of episode 3 that you’ll want to skip because it’s a little uncomfortable. The first two seasons are out and god knows when the next season will be available.
Within the Wires - This is another one done by Night Vale presents. Within the Wires is written by Jeffrey Cranor and the story is based through a series of standard relaxation tapes where you soon realise that yours aren’t standard. The woman on the to the main character and you slowly figure out what that connection is. The tapes themselves are a little creepy but they are sort of relaxing at the same time. Season two may be different and possibly might not be relaxation tapes but that’s the exciting thing about it. I personally prefer this podcast to Alice because I can listen to this and not feel scared when I’m trying to sleep. This one just creeps me out opposed to scaring me so I stay awake. I wouldn’t listen to this before bed though. I recommend to listen to this on a really long road trip because that’s the most comfortable I felt when I heard it. New episodes will come out when the new season does.
ars PARADOXICA - Imagine if you had accidentally created time travel and you find yourself in 1942 in the middle of the second world war. That’s what Sally Grisham does and she soon discovers that her time travel only goes back so she attempts to find a way to go back to her own time which is a little difficult with only technology from the early 40′s. I’ll be honest, I did really like this podcast when I first started it but the last 4 episodes make me question if I actually want to continue it. The latest episode makes me think that I could continue it. They do give warnings about gun violence and terrible things happening to kids which made me super uncomfortable but the warning was nice. New episodes come out the 1st of each month
The Orbiting Human Circus (of the Air) - Yet another Night Vale presents project but it’s not written by Joseph or Jeffrey. The story follows the janitor Juilen as he tries to get into the show without getting caught. The podcast is set on top of the Eiffel tower and the most magical things happen such as a bird who can recreate a whole orchestra perfectly and a machine that can make the thoughts of a cricket come to life. There are only four episodes so far but it’s pretty good so far. The janitor is my favourite and he just shares stories about his life that only make me want to get to know him better which is nice. The french accents also make me really happy. New episodes come out every other Wednesday and I high recommend it.
Podcasts I haven’t started but are on my list
The Penumbra Podcast
Our Fair City
I wanted to make this in case anyone was interested with what I was listening to and I would like recommendations with podcasts because I’m always looking for new podcasts to listen to
Note: This is playing on a theory I’ve had for a while now - Could a Vampire of the twilight kind ever get drunk? I am very bad at writing but would not be opposed to doing a part two should this be we’ll received :)))
Characters: the Cullen’s + You
Warnings: Alcohol (obviously), swearing.
The Graduation party was coming to an end, (Y/N) was positively buzzed - having chugged beers and thrown back shots throughout the night. She wasn’t irresponsible, just looking to let loose after the stress of school.
The Cullen’s; being as they were, were fully aware of everything that was going on around them. They could smell the alcohol in the air and their supernaturally inclined human friend (Y/N) reeked of it. Edward and Alice were constantly checking to make sure she was okay, Rosalie stood in the corner glaring - maybe wishing she could have gotten drunk too. Emmett stood beside her, trying to coax her into dancing the last dance.
They wouldn’t say they were having a bad time - but their enjoyment would be seriously improved by being drunk with the rest of the kids.
Intoxicated graduates stumbled through the doors of the Cullen house till only (Y/N) and them remained. Even with the music now turned off, it didn’t stop (Y/N) from dancing - when Edward and Bella both tried to encourage her to go to sleep, she simply replied with;
“Fuck off guys! You’re not my - parents!” Pausing to hiccup and laugh at Edwards disgust at her language.
Emmett wasn’t being much help, as he was whooping from the sofa and laughing at their strange friend.
“You know what you guys ne-ed?” (Y/N) stopped dancing, but continued to sway on her feet.
“What, (Y/N)?” Jasper asked, concealing the amused smirk at her slurring
“Alcohol! You guys need to driiiiinnnnkkkkk.” (Y/N) just about yelled, giggling away.
“(Y/N), you know alcohol doesn’t effect vampires.” Bella said tiredly, even though she couldn’t necessarily get tired.
“Oh… yeah.” (Y/N) pouted, her mood suddenly switching. She stood perfectly still for a few moments, the Cullen family watching curiously.
(Y/N) gasped, an idea forming in her head and a crazy kind of smile growing on her face. Edward, having read her mind, widened his eyes.
“(Y/N) No.” he scolds, but she’s already gone - running to the kitchen, calling over her shoulder;
She grabbed the last two bottles of Jack, determined to get her friends as drunk as her.
Alice laughed as she saw what she was going to do, the rest of the Cullen family - aside from Carlisle, Esme, and Renessme who had gone on a trip, wanting to be away from the major party animals environment - looked to her in intrigue.
(Y/N) ran out of the house, and into the forrest; ready to find an animal of any kind. When the Cullen’s found her, she was trying to get a deer to drink from the bottle.
“(Y/N) that’s not going to work.” Rosalie chuckled; she’d warmed to this human much easier.
“It might! Don’t lose hope Rose-y.” (Y/N)’s loud, drawn out words disturbed the deers quiet grazing and it ran off. “Damn it!” She said, frustrated. (Y/N) sighed, pouting again.
The scene would have made anyone laugh - an incredibly intoxicated young girl sat on the dirty forrest floor, pouting because she couldn’t feed a deer alcohol in hopes to get her blood-drinking friends drunk.
“We should totally test this.” Emmett says, a new plan forming in his head, probably one that was more detailed than (Y/N)’s. The girl in question had peeked up at the support of her theory, furiously nodding her head in agreement.
“Emmett, no it’s not going to work.” Jasper shook his head.
“Al’” (Y/N) called, struggling to her feet. “Level with me; does - it work?”
Alice zoned out for a few moments, and came back too with a smile on her face. Both she and Edward became pleasantly surprised and the rest of the Cullen’s seemed astonished.
“Yes, (Y/N) I do believe it does.” Alice said, smiling at the girls elated expression
“(Y/N). You’re a genius!” Emmett laughed, lifting the girl in the air.
“Yeah I am.” (Y/N)’s voice seemed sleepy now “Lets get drunk! But -” she yawned “maybe tomorrow…”
alice and margo were queens, and they fought til the end
once students and lovers, they came to this land as a godsend,
they never once wished to return to their lives
to be students and chattel and sidekicks and wives,
but fillory was harsh, and it knew they would learn;
and two queens went in to fight and one queen burned.
julia and kady were witches, and they summoned a god
they called out to their lady, reverent and awed,
they never once wished to summon the fox,
to be beheaded and raped and murdered and locked,
and julia, brave, saved kady and became a goddess;
and kady gutted the fox, keeping her promise.

Request: Ok I got one! XD
Imagine Y/N is a student at Forks High with a major interest in history, &
gets paired with Jasper for an assignment. Despite being uncomfortable around
humans, he can’t help bonding with her. After they’ve handed in the assignment,
he asks her to dinner with his family at their home, with everyone trying to
drop hints to Y/N that he likes her… And I leave the end to you :P xo
a/n: these characters could be in other sections but these ones and a few other will be put under the ‘other’ category
Alice would be really shocked when you asked and would actually take a few days before answering you. “Alice, will you marry me?” You ask as you get on one knee. “I’ll think about it.” She tells you stock still but also looking like she’s about to cry. *3 days later* “ALICE!!” You shout as you hear gun fire. You run to where you heard it and see her flipping her guns away. “To answer your question: fuck yes I’ll marry you.” She tells you confidently, quickly walking over to you and giving you a long intimate kiss.
Lara would probably give you an answer straight away but some asshole just had to interrupt. “Will you..” You were about to ask as you got a ring out but you felt a gun to your head; they found you. “Let go of my fiance, asshole.” Lara says as she pulls out the gun, shooting the guy. “Guess that answers that question.” You tell her with a big smile.
Angela would have the biggest smile on her face and would know that she was making the right decision saying yes. “Of course I’ll marry you, Y/N!” She says excitedly as she runs up and hugs you, crying happy tears.
Abby would be very surprised about it and it would take her a few seconds to register what you said. “Abigail Sciuto, would you do me the honour of becoming my wife?” You ask her as you get onto one knee and present a ring to her. Abby kind of just sat there for a bit, turning her head from side to side with a half smile on her face, when suddenly it was like a light bulb went off in her head and she jumped up from her seat. “YES!!!” She scream with pure joy. “OF COURSE I WILL!” She says as she jumps into your arms, koala style.
Twilight Preference - First Meeting and First Kiss
This was requested, here is the exact request “Can I request a Twilight preference , please?:) Uhm…how u meet and how would be the first kiss? With the characters : Quil Ateara , Jacob Black , Kate Denali and Alice Cullen?:) ( I hope these are not so many characters?:/)” Thank you for your request! I hope you like it! Four is probably the perfect number for this, but I can do more or multipart, it honestly doesn’t bother me :) I’m a bit unsure about the Kate one as it has been a few years since I read the book and every time I have a twilight marathon I tend to give up after Eclipse because I am team Jacob :) Requests are open, all requests are appreciated! I am in multiple fandoms, please send your requests here. I also have a page for information about requests, what is open etc. If you want to check whether or not your request has been received I have a page where I post all requests to be published, although it may take me a while to update it with time zones etc.
You two met after Jacob phased, and Quil was left alone. You felt bad for him, even though you didn’t understand why his two best friends had deserted him and so invited him to sit with you. It was awkward at first, and you didn’t understand the way he kept looking at you, like he couldn’t possibly imagine anybody being so nice to him. You had been worried that he would leave you if his friends made up with him but he simply took you with him, and you quickly grew used to the fact that he was a werewolf.
Your first kiss was everything you had hoped it would be, maybe minus the whoops and cheers of the other guys. It happened in school, you two thought you were getting a quiet minute alone together in the empty corridor but it turned out to have been set up by the rest of the pack after they got fed up of him worrying how to do it and that he had waited too long.
You met at the bonfire, you had seen each other around before of course, at school and the like but you had never really spoken to him. And he had never looked at you like that, like his entire world had stopped spinning and he was left dizzy, the only thing he could focus on being you. He moved, almost subconsciously closer towards you throughout the night, until he was sitting next to you, whispering in your ear while you laughed quietly.
Your first kiss was that same night, it wasn’t a proper kiss so to speak, but it seemed like he hadn’t been able to stop himself from brushing his lips delicately over yours. You had spoken the whole night, from the moment he sat down beside you, and he promised that there would be many more nights of talking until your eyes began drooping and of kissing by the light of the fire.
Alice knew you were going to meet, of course she did, meeting you changed her life. She saw exactly what would happen, and planned her actions and words based around your reactions. Later, you thought of it as cheating but you had to admit that it was perfect, every word and action made your heart flutter, causing her lips to twitch upwards in a smile as she heard her effect on you.
You were always trying to surprise her, which was obviously difficult with her ability but somehow you managed it. The key was snappy, spur of the moment decisions. You two were watching a movie together, sat close to each other on the couch, when you turned your head your lips were almost touching. So you just leant forwards, and connected them. She was startled, but reacted instantly, careful not to hurt you. She always claimed afterwards that she had known what you were going to do, but you knew she hadn’t.
You met at the Cullen’s house, training to fight the volturi, although everybody held onto the hope that it wouldn’t come to that. The two of you were fighting, practising. There was something strange between you, almost electric and you knew that she could feel it too. The fight went on for ages, eventually you had to call it a draw. You could never pin each other for long enough for it to be a win.
Your first kiss was a promise, before you walked onto the battlefield, a promise to each other that you would both walk off of it. It was fierce, there was no holding back on either side, no time to be gentle. It was quick but passionate, and it had you making sure that the promise stayed true.
Reid had taken part in a similar conversation the previous night after Agent Hotchner had left. Alice had taken herself off for a bath, but not before making Spencer promise that he would retrieve his gun from his bag and wear it.
Ellen Manchester had looked horrified at the thought having a gun in the house, she obviously hadn’t clocked Aaron’s. Alice had laughed at her sister’s expression.
“All these years I wanted one and you wouldn’t let me. Now, you don’t got a choice but to have one in the house.”
“I just didn’t think that anything could be that bad that you’d need one. You wouldn’t tell me why you wanted one so badly.”
Alice sighed and shook her head, tired of this conversation already. She’d had the argument a gazillion times. She wanted a gun for protection but she couldn’t tell them why she needed protection. But the FBI Agent had one, so now her sister had no choice. She could tell that Ellen was still disbelieving that she could be involved in something so bad that the FBI had now taken an interest. Alice could barely believe it herself. Those four and a half years seemed like a dream, a nightmare. A nightmare she’d woken up from but could feel it creeping into her day to day life. She’d left the other three adults to it and had gone for a bath, staying in the main house rather than going back to her own apartment.
Part of her knew her worries about THEM finding her were for nothing. If they’d really wanted to, she was sure they could have done it by now. But…. But maybe they were waiting for the right moment. He had told her over and over again that she was the chosen one , the special one. She was going to lead when he could no longer. He’d seen something in her, a spark that he recognised, he wanted to nurture her and show her the way.
She shuddered in the tub, shaking the images from her head and sinking down under the water.
“So what you’re saying is that my sister in law was part of some kind of doomsday cult?” Robert said to Spencer.
Spencer sipped his coffee which he’d finally been given. “We’re not sure. And I’m not sure we’d use the term Doomsday either.”
He’d been unsure how much to reveal to Robert and Ellen, as soon as Alice had left the room they’d started to ask questions. When it came down to it, he didn’t want to press his own speculations onto them. Whatever story it was, it was Alice’s to tell. He’d simply given them the same information about Lewis and Marnie Goldstein that would be available online in the public domain. Enough newspaper articles had been written about their disappearance, Marnie’s parents had made sure of that. Even though she was the elder of the pair and both were no longer minors, her parents had insisted that there was something suspicious about their disappearance, rueing the day that they ever let Lewis into their home and blaming him for leading their daughter astray.
“What term would you use then? From what I’m piecing together here, Alice seems to have been part of a cult, led by a leader that claims to be from the future and is predicting an apocalypse of sorts. Oh, and they appear to be been killing off their members. My baby sister, part of a cult!” Ellen had summed everything up quite aptly and was pacing the kitchen.
“Stop talking about me please,“ Alice appeared at the kitchen door, wrapped only in a towel, her hair dripping wet.
“Ally, we’re talking about the situation,” Robert said soothingly.
“And the situation involves me. So stop, please. I’ll tell the Agents everything tomorrow so I’m sure you’ll both have your curiosity sated then. I’m going back to my apartment. Dr Reid, I have a pull out couch in my room. I’d feel a lot more comfortable if the man with gun was sleeping in there.”
“Alright. There’s a car picking us up at eight am.” Spencer stood and followed Alice through a door to the side of the back entrance. It led to a ulitility area with a staircase leading up from it and another exit. He averted his eyes as he followed her up the stairs, wishing she was wearing something other than a towel.
When she got to another door at the top of the stairs, she pushed it open. Reid could see that it had an outer lock on it which hadn’t been shut. She led him into a open plan apartment, a kitchenette across one side with what he assumed was a bathroom leading off from it. There was a living area, with a large couch and TV as well as a desktop computer, scanner and printer, and a laptop bag. Two huge strategically placed bookcases separated a large bed from the rest of the room and Spencer watched as his companion walked between the cases and dropped her towel as if he wasn’t even there. Spencer spun around, facing the other way and waited until he heard her voice again before turning.
When her looked at her again she was dressed in an oversized t-shirt.
“Sorry. I’m not used to having company,” was all she said to him before walking over to a closet and pulling out some blankets and a pillow.
“The couch pulls out into a bed. Can I see your gun please?”
Spencer took it out and held it out to her. She eyed it carefully.
“Smith and Wesson Model 65?” she asked him and he nodded in surprise.
“That’s not an FBI approved gun.”
“I have a waiver for it. I find it easier to operate than others.”
“But you CAN operate others right?”
He nodded and allowed her to take his gun out of his hands, watching her handle it.
“I prefer Desert Eagles or Glocks.”
“Alice, you know guns?”
She checked the chambers making sure it was loaded and handed it back to him.
“I know guns. I know how to fire them, how to assemble them and how to clean them. We were taught how to defend ourselves at the compound.”
“Defend yourselves from what?”
“Everything and anything else.”
“Alice, what hap…..”
“I’m going to sleep now Dr Reid. I’m tired. Feel free to use my shower or to watch TV. Make yourself at home. I have a feeling you’ll be assigned to me until you’ve got the information that you need.”
So did he.
When he awoke the next day Alice was fully dressed and sitting on the floor by her bed, sorting items out from a box. There were Polaroids, which she had piled up along with a small box. When she felt his eyes on her, she glanced up.
“Sleep well Dr Reid?” she asked, much calmer than he’d heard her so far. It was then that he realised that his gun as no longer its holster and was by her bed.
“Please, call me Spencer. I keep telling you that. How did you sleep?” his eyes flickered to the weapon, wondering at what point she’d taken it.
“Better than I have in a while. Knowing that there’s an armed federal agent in my room definitely helped.”
“I’m not sure what good I’d have been though if anything did happen, considering my weapon is all the way over there.”
She gave him a very childish grin. “Sorry. You can have it back.” She slid it across the wooden floor to him.
Spencer tossed the blankets back and pulled on his courdroys which he’d discarded last night to sleep before padding across to her, picking up his gun as he went.
“What are you looking at, Alice?” He settled onto the floor across from her, crossing his long legs under him.
“You can call me Ally, you know. Ellen and Rob always do.” She handed him some Polaroids and he leafed through them.
“Which do you prefer?”
She shrugged and slid the small box over to him as well.
“Alright, I’ll call you Ally if you start calling me Spencer rather than Dr Reid.”
He opened up the small box, seeing that it contained leather bracelets. The same ones he’d seen in the photo she’d given him before.
“You all wore these?”
She nodded. “The tattoos are too low down our necks to be easily seen. We wore these on our wrists so we could easily spot our family…. I mean, the other members.”
“Children wore only one though.” Spencer remember the original photo and continued to sort through the other photos, seeing pictures of happy looking people going about their day to day life. From what he could tell in the images, the compound looked self sufficient. There. were shots of people tending to chickens, grooming horses, photos of what appeared to be a school lesson in progress.
“Yes. The children wore only one until they came of age and were matched.”
She looked at him, focusing her eyes on his.
“Yes. Matched. See Meg here?” she tapped a face on a photo. “Meg was nineteen before they decided on a suitable match for her, one she was happy with. A band on your right arm signified you were underage and therefore off limits. When you turned 16, it was moved to the left arm to show that you had come of age. When you were matched, you wore a band on both arms.”
Spencer assumed that being ‘matched’ was their version of being wed.
“Was everyone matched then?”
“Not everyone. There were a few people who chose to remain loners, and a lot of the younger people didn’t want to be matched straight away. They wanted to have fun. They didn’t force you into a match if you didn’t want to be. That was the good thing.”
Spencer recalled the photo of Alice, bands on both arms.
“Ally, how old were you when you were matched?”
“The ceremony took place on my 17th birthday.” She locked eyes with him again.
“Who were you matched to?” He knew the answer to the question before he’d even asked it.
