Day’s end in Coire Laire - December 2005

Looking over the craggy knoll of Sgurr Innse to the Grey Corries, with those gorgeous rusty colours you get in winter. This was taken while I was descending into the beautifully wild Coire Laire from Stob Coire Easain. Didn’t see anyone all day :)

September snow on Conival - 2007

It’s a bit grainy but you get the idea.  In mid September 2007 I went for a stroll up Ben More Assynt and Conival, and to my delight the high tops had a rare two inches of snow that morning.  It didn’t last long, it was all gone by lunch time, but it was a welcome early taste of winter :)

2015 has been cool so far and it looks as though Scotland’s snow patches, the snow that survives from one winter to another, might have another bumper year.  But when will the first big dump of snow come I wonder?  At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if it was August! ;-)
