∟ Ashara Dayne

Ashara Dayne was a noblewoman of House Dayne, the younger sister of the famous knight Ser Arthur Dayne. She committed suicide shortly after the end of Robert’s Rebellion. Ashara was tall, with long dark hair and haunting violet eyes. She had a reputation for great beauty. Many men were infatuated with her, including Barristan Selmy and, according to rumour, Eddard Stark.

∟ Lann the Clever

Lann the Clever is the legendary hero from the Age of Heroes that founded House Lannister. Popular amongst singers and taletellers, he supposedly swindled Casterly Rock out from under the Casterlys using nothing but his wits. In another tale he stole gold from the sun to brighten his hair.

∟ Brandon the Builder

Brandon Stark, also known as Brandon the Builder, was the founder member of House Stark who lived during the Age of Heroes. He reigned as the first King In the North.He owes his name to the fact he built the Wall and Winterfell. Some stories say he did it with the help of Giants. He is accredited for other famous constructions, especially Storm’s End.

∟ Shiera Seastar

Shiera Seastar was the last of the Great Bastards of Aegon IV. She was renowned as a famous beauty and seductress, with long Targaryen silver-gold hair, and a heart-shaped face. Although she had two mismatched eyes, (one blue, the other green), it was said that the “defect” only enhanced her beauty. She was a great reader, even at an early age, spoke many languages, and maintained a large and arcane library. She also was reputed to share her mother’s skill in the dark arts.

∟ Orys Baratheon

Lord Orys Baratheon of Storm’s End was the founder of House Baratheon. He slew the last Storm King, Argilac the Arrogant, married his daughter and took his lands. He was the rumored bastard half-brother of Aegon I. He was one of Aegon’s fiercest commanders, rising through the ranks and becoming Hand of the King after Aegon’s landing on mainland Westeros and his coronation. After taking the Storm King’s lands and castle he also took his daughter Argella as his wife and adopted the banner, honours and words of her line.

∟ Joanna Lannister

Joanna Lannister was the wife of Tywin Lannister and the mother of Cersei, Jaime and Tyrion. She died giving birth to Tyrion before the beginning of the series. Joanna was born in a cadet branch of House Lannister. Later she married her cousin Tywin. Their marriage was a very happy one; Joanna became Tywin’s trusted counselor and companion. Her influence on her husband was such that people would say, “Tywin ruled the Seven Kingdoms” (as Hand of the King) but “was ruled at home by his lady wife.”

∟ Brandon Stark

Brandon Stark, older brother to Eddard Stark, Lyanna Stark and Benjen Stark, was the original heir to Winterfell prior to Robert’s Rebellion. Brandon was forced to watch as his father was cooked alive in his own armor by the Mad King. He was bound with a leather cord around his neck and a longsword just out of reach, and he strangled himself trying to get to the sword to save his father.

∟ Rickard Stark

Rickard Stark was the head of House Stark and Lord of Winterfell. The Mad King had Rickard burned by lighting a fire beneath him while Rickard was dressed in his armor. In the crypts of Winterfell there is an engraving of Rickard on his tomb. Rickard’s engraving is said to match his appearance in life with a “long, stern face.” Rickard was succeeded by his second son Eddard.

∟ Alysanne Targaryen

Alysanne Targaryen also known as Good Queen Alysanne was a Queen of Westeros. She was the daughter of Aenys I. Following the customs of the Targaryens she married her brother Jaehaerys I the Conciliator. Good Queen Alysanne had great influence over Jaehaerys. She convinced him to abolish the lord’s right to the First Night. She had many charities and was loved by the people.

∟ Arthur Dayne

Ser Arthur Dayne, known as the Sword of the Morning, was a famed and legendary knight and a member of Aerys II’s Kingsguard. He was Prince Rhaegar’s close friend. Dayne is remembered as not only a skilled fighter but a valiant and true knight. Eddard Stark, Jaime Lannister and Barristan Selmy all recall or remember Dayne with nothing less than absolute respect for both the man and his legend.
