I neglect to hear you say, when lips touch the water too deep for me to swim; I still go on breathless just to see your eyes. There is peace in what I see; in you there is love, chosen like springtime flowers whose colors surpass the nighttime sky. even the stars know when to go to sleep.

I, ever made to be broken, cannot fill my lungs to the air you breathe; you fill me and release me like you do. There are tears like rain falling like a storm and yet I am at peace because I know that you will stay with me. Leave the door slightly open for me to come in and my heart will stay indoors, nestled in your embrace not caring about what’s outside of your eyes.
